I love how Dan has all this backstory and lore for the Ghostbusters Universe boiled down to an exact science. When he started talking about the messon collider and boson darts and how the proton pack worked, I didn’t know why he talked about it until he finished... so awesome.
Harold Ramis was the brain of ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd is the heart of ghostbusters Ernie Hudson is the soul of ghostbusters Bill Murray is.....well......Bill Murray...
Dan Akroyd is such a smart man. Loving it when he speaks about electrons and neutrons. RIP Harold, Egon was always my favourite character. I got a Vynil Figure of him holding the EPK scaner. Love to this people, always, for making me so happy all these years.
this is indeed the true 3rd movie. looking forward to Jason Reitmans film but it will not beat this, this has Egon. Id love to have a conversation with Dan Akroyd about his own beliefs and theories that he poured into the GB universe, both in regards to science and the world of ghosts and myhtology. while enjoying his Crystal Head Vodka of course, he just seems like a pleasure to sit and chat with
Would be nice if someone went ahead and remastered this game in the future. It’s the best and most authentic Ghostbusters game so far and the fans deserve it.
Dan Aykroyd consulting with the developers and the developers actually listening! What a brilliant mind he has, he mocked up the science behind each piece of equipment, so it exists for a reason.
I like the Easter eggs to the game, like Ivo Shandor's appearance. Funny enough the artists claims they came up with it on their own. Must be a legal thing.
This game blew my socks off when it came out and I will cherish it with both movies forever. nobody in the history of gaming has put the care and effort into a movie franchise video game that they did here. My hats off to everyone involved including the big bad corporations that allowed everything to come together.
I just got the Remaster for free on the epic games store, A lifelong ghostbusters fan, I had no idea this game existed. What a blast to play through this thing. I really miss Harold, Its great to have some new content from him and the rest of the ghostbusters!
This is a true successor to the first 2 movies as Dan Aykroyd said in this interview. I went out and got it recently after watching this. Was late to the show so i got the Nintendo Switch physical version.
PattyFuryGaming I remember playing this on my ps3 ages ago it was the first game I ever played (I’m 13) and it made me a gamer and ps3 has the best games of all time on it
I'll tell you what, man. For 2009, it's pretty damn good. I found myself immersed in the gameplay, laughing along, and being excited. The only negative I thought is that I didn't get to drive the Ecto-1. However, as you're only realistically ever driving it from job to job, it might have turned into more of a chore than a feature. Maybe it would have been nice to include a sandbox version where it's free-play like GTA. Also, this reminds me that Ramis is dead and that makes me incredibly sad.
The reason why the game is sooo good, is because it's not a licensed videogame adaptation of the movie. Instead it uses the IP and the story is based on some of the concept drafts for the movie that weren't included. Then to top it off they used the original writers and actors.
@Dr. Loomis Fair enough. I don't care much for new textures, but I would definitely like to know if the "Gold Proton Pack" and "Flight Suit" DLCs are both included in this remaster.
I'm glad I finally own this game. The fact that it was written by the same writers and stars the actual actors as well as makes great use of the soundtrack is a great plus. It's also neat to see that Ackroyd is passionate amd knowledgeable about the paranormal and science. For him it seems the movie wasn't just some script to bang out but an actual distillation of a subject he's inspired by.
Even though it might not be the "official" third movie, it's written by the OG Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd with the OG cast all back together (with the exception of Sigourney Weaver and that other guy whose name I can't remember right now). So, for all intents and purposes it may as well be the third in video game format. Which I think is better, since I can get personally invested in the plot since I am involved in it. I have to work alongside the OG ghostbusters to bust these ghosts and send them back to wherever they came from. Something a movie could not accomplish...as well as the fact that there are surreal visuals and designs that would be a lot harder to do in a movie, and let's not forget that the cast aren't in the prime anymore where as in the video game they don't look a day over 200.
PSA: The remastered version is less than $10 on Playstation Store! So glad I bought it and re-experienced this fantastic game. So glad they were able to get Annie and William to reprise their roles (as well as Max von Sydow as Vigo - THAT was unexpected!). We miss you so much, Harold. RIP
Eventually there will be two Ghostbusters 3 movies. This one and Jason Reitman's movie, but this will remain as the real third movie because of Harold Ramis.
Both the original and stylized versions of these games are absolutely amazing, I really like the stylized for the need to really think rather than just blast a proton stream, even still the original has amazing visuals and boss fights
Just got the Remaster, have never played the game but watched the pseudo movie cuts of the game several years ago. Thank you for having this on your channel. It's Dec 19, 2019...7 days before my B-day. Going to enjoy playing this with my 7yr old son on that day.
A pleasure. These featurettes are often neglected and that is why I try to preserve as many of them as I can find. Also consider tracking down the Wii version of the game. It is a unique and different experience, but it features split screen co-op and its fantastic because of it.
@@ShiryuGL I don't own a Wii but I will keep that in mind. The game is super hard on normal mode!! Lol But it's fun and funny. Hasn't been too many action/adventure games that I've played with humor that actually nail the comedy right.
Really excited for afterlife, but this game was the last ghostbusters content to be made with harold, and so much work and love for the fans was put into it. This will FOREVER and ALWAYS be ghostbusters 3. It feels like a ghostbusters movie more than any other ghostbusters movie or game could.

I'm so glad we were able to get this game when we did and with all the talent behind it. Losing Ramis before a proper follow-up film came to pass was a great tragedy. But thanks to his and others' involvement in the video game, as Dan said, this really did take up the mantle of "third Ghostbusters movie" and it was absolutely amazing to experience.
Fabulous game indeed! When you look at the Commodore 64 version from Activision then look at this, you're amazed by the progress of gaming technology. Imagine if us kids were shown this in 1984 and told you've got to wait a few years yet.. :) RIP Mr Ramis.
The Ghostbusters game on PlayStation 4 and we will lease on PS4 for me is the third Ghostbuster movie may you rest in peace Harold Ramis thank you for wonderful memories
I'm playing the Remaster Version and I have never thought of using the slime tether to snag the ghost and fling it to the trap like shown in the video. I have to try that now.
The new film and this game are SO GOOD! And honestly they don't contradict each other. Just wish those damn angel babies didn't have been doing the same part for 2 freakin hours.
The game sold so well that movie companies saw how big Ghostbusters still were. That they began looking into making another film. Just wish they made it right away with these guys

Dan Aykroyd said it best "It really is the third movie" You goddamn right it is..
Apparently his first treatment for the original film was going through time and dimensions, so it must have been fun to see that finally happen.
Well thank you for clarifying that LOL 😂

Well they just announced a remaster coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch this year so you’ll get your chance to play again.
Yup, and the remaster is actually pretty good. Very nostalgic, lot of improvements as well. Playing through it again is a treat!
Why do you miss it? You can still play it, can't you? What's stopping you?
