dammnit they had one chance to do a proper 3rd chapter with Ramis still alive and all the actors still looking the part, in the early 90's but nooope Murray had to say no. only to say yes to the shit they did now
7:56 idk if he's trying to sell the idea that ectoplasm,as it is in these movies, exists outside them or if he actually believes it himself but either way that passion translated well to the project.
Dan Aykroyd's grandfather and I believe other family members were very big into the spiritual and paranormal. It was this background and Aykroyd's own interest that actually influenced the writing of the movie.
Sad they didn't mention the Ecto-1A at all, the car looks so different in Ghostbusters II with all the new decals, signage, and basically a full christmas tree's worth of lights. Dan Aykroyd is really into the lore of the car and pretty much knows what every part is and what it's there for.
I seen at time cigarette ash float in front of me disappeared in air, never landed on floor i had no clue what it was at time until i saw dan say its ecto plasma,
I actually really like Ghostbusters 2. Yeah, it’s not perfect, it’s not quite as good as the first one, but what is honestly? I still dig the second movie a ton. It’s the first movie I remember ever going to see in a theater.
These interviews were filmed in 2014 as a part of the Extra Features when the first two movies was re-released on Blu-Ray as it was a 30 year anniversary for the first Ghostbusters film & a 25 year anniversary for the second Ghostbusters film back in 2014. The Director Ivan Reitman passed away in 2022.
@@cyberjack i kinda get what you mean i guess. I rewatched the clip, and it might have been a version of the movie you watched where it had a weird cut. Cause in it, Venkman does interrupt Vigo to say “Now!” And then they fire. I could see that feeling like a random weird jump cut. If thats what you’re talking about. But I’m very positive that Peter is supposed to abruptly do that.
Getting misty eyed.. thinking about the good old days..
same here - i have wet eyes listening to this
The old Ghostbusters movies are still the best ones in the franschise. Ghostbusters 2016 does not even exist, period.

The ONLY worthy Ghostbusters sequel. None of others came close.

Are Dan’s ideas for a third movie posted anywhere for fans to see?
Yes. Ghostbusters in Hell
@@danielneeds4351 oh yeah. I forgot about that.
I remember one fan site hosting the Ghostbusters 3: Hellbent script.
@@danielneeds4351 the videogame thankfully fulfill that script
Is this really from three months ago? how old is this interview?

Rip Ivan Reitman
He says they wrote three versions of GB3. I wonder if the 2016 all female reboot was one of them 😭
The third movie was the Game.
@@craiggilchrist4223 past tense, was.
Afterlife is the 3rd
I don't think the female reboot of Ghostbusters had any writing done for it.
You mean the movie from hell that no one likes to talk about ?
strange jump-cut near end of the movie that always bothered me .. poor editing maybe ?
Oh what scene is it in?
@@MichaelScott-BestBoss just before they started zapping the painting .. it jumps to it abruptly like something missing beforehand
