Aside from also finding a black backplate, the only thing this guitar needs is to have the pickguard sprayed with the same teal paint. That way, the middle white layer on it will match the body.

When you opened the case this guitar looked more blue than anything. Once you pulled it out and did your best Banna White impression displaying it it looked more real like what I like to call gumby blue. I'm definitely intrigued by this guitar. Since I hot the latest SG from you I'm looking at some you get differently. I wouldnt replace the medallion but I'd sure replace the back plate with a black one.
Okay. I'll admit it. I do apparently like the silverburst when it turns blue. I normally hate the way Gibson does the black vignette, but for whatever reason, it really works on this guitar. Personally, though, I think keeping the mother-of-pearl inlay was the right call. The abalone matches just a bit too well. The pearl, however, gives it more contrast and makes the fretboard pop a bit more.
YES ! - Turquoise inlays would look awesome too.
Yes, I knew it, Teal! Pretty! Abalone inlays would do it, rather than tinting the MOP. The brown back plate goes with the Teal duck theme, since ducks have brown tail feathers.

After hearing it, I really like the clarity of both p'ups. The bass tones don't overwhelm the other strings, so you hear 'em all. Got a good sound, with or w/o distortion... But, I didn't hear the nasal-ly tone that makes a guitar solo stand out. The bridge p'ups seemed to have fair amount of "quack," maybe it was just a combo of what you played and your amp EQ settings? IDK....

I always miss the cool ones! What time do they list new guitars on the mod collection site? And anyone know what this teal widow was listed for? Can’t find it in the sold listings. The mod collection site isn’t the best to navigate.
The only cosmetic thing I’d change other than the brown control cavity cover is I’d swap the knobs for silver reflector tops
I just got a modified Les Paul Custom Black with Custombucker 68s a few weeks ago and it does have a brown control plate cover.
Sadly you might have to get an aftermarket one and stick the factory stock in the case.
They should def do more of these on the silverburst base. Very cool.
What a beauty! 😍 Definitely my favorite guitar I've seen so far. All it needs is a volute and it would be perfect! Why don't they put the burst on the back, neck & headstock on _all_ of them?! That looks so much cooler.. Way more rad than those lame black back. That's why I love mid 70's Norlin era LP's. I must own one someday! :)
How does the finish age on a widow guitar? Does the painted over binding cause issues? I would be nervous about that.

(@ 6:52) You keep saying it's blue... But I keep seeing green! Metallic teal, to be exact, which is more green than blue--you had it correct when you first opened the case. It's not bad, really, I like it!

I think those are indeed 57 classic pickups. I just got one from the Mod shop and it had 57 Classics in it as well. They are awesome.

I’m not much for green, but that one is cool! If it had green inlays, it would have looked like something Type-O-Negative would have played.
Burstbuckers are definitely an upgrade, wish I could have snapped it up first.

Curious if you saw the Fender Masterbuilt Robben Ford that Norm’s Rare Guitars just put up on their channel… it’s very double cut Gibson-eque… even has a tailpiece that looks like a TP-6…

Funny story, I actually photoshopped picture of a silverburst before this guitar first showed up online and used a teal filter, and it looked exactly like this does. I was trying to design a made to measure les paul custom for myself, but it looks like the demo shop already did the work for me!
I can't teal you how munch I like it!! Gibson, the Widow Maker. I'm green with envy. It will always be in mint condition. Anyway, yes pleez, more colors. The green inlays look cool, but think of the labor - yikes!! Wolf/AIO make an Abalone top single cut, looks amazing. Thanx Mr. T. Ü
That looks totally different depending which camera you're using. You should try to color correct or set their white balances identically.

I like the fact that they're recycling guitars they don't want to sell as they've been made. It may have been that they didn't have those pickups in stock when they were building the guitar and so chose greater quality instead of lesser to take his place. That could be possible.

Man i have to be honest i like this but i thought the Tinsel Burst and the Christmas Tree Burst were Stunning! Both have been on my mind since i saw your video. Different strokes i guess.
Overall a pretty cool guitar! Looks and sounds great!
It's one of those colours that I'd love to have, but would be cautious too buy. I think for the money these probably go for, I'd probably need a pay rise to justify (if that makes sense)

That thing is a little pitchy on the high end. I'd replace the neck pickup maybe. Even the Bridge was a slightly less pitchy. It just really screamed.
