Vexilar will fix a cut or spike marks in ur cable for like $50. I know because I cut my cable in 1/2 last year on my FLX30BB. VEXILAR advised me to use the transducer from my 8SE. It worked but way not as well but it did work. Couple of day turnaround.

Correct Ron, on each of my boats I have the ball mount base permanently attached to the boat, and then I can remove it during the offseason.
