    • @superone5838
      @superone5838 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It's fast because the strikes are short and close not because he's any faster than a boxer. A boxer looks slow because of the big gloves in the ring. Fast is when you have to rewind the tape to see it again and that's how fast Mike tyson was.

    • @shimizu67
      @shimizu67 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@superone5838 That comparison is ridiculous. Not going to denigrate Mike Tyson which was an amazing boxer. But watch his finger jab videos, he's arm distance away and no one can stop his punch, even with arms ready and up and expecting it. He is REALLY fast.

    This man has mastered so many "micro-tricks" its way beyond just physicality, it's applied physics, geometry and universal law. You can always imitate what you see, but you can't see the system of bone alignments and muscle contractions that properly generate additional power. He is highly advanced and condensed. #TrueArt

    • @sageonet
      @sageonet 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      yeah,,,,he has developed internal power from opening all his joints. If all your joints are open, you can use the energy from the ground. It's the taiji principle that only a handful ever develop. He does internal exercises similar to qiqong in training. As long as he is soft,,,he's dangerous......if you can make him tense up,,,you have a chance

    • @gagaxueguzheng
      @gagaxueguzheng 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      He does a show for people who don't know how to fight. Just see what happens to him when he goes against Bradley Scott in December. He has incredible skill but he's absolutely no fighter. He can twitch fast and has accuracy but that won't help him anything when he goes against a pro. He'll either blame something for his loss or cancel the fight for some strange reason. If he fights, I hope he doesn't get injured. He has not the slightest chance and it is sad to see him think that he could really win. Delusional like many martial artists who never pressure test against a resisting opponent. I never saw DK Yoo fight and all his sparring videos are bad even in my eyes (and I have only trained 15 years of kung fu and some muay thai as a hobby).

      Nikeimizhong this isn’t about me, and I never said that UFC is a kids game. I was simply sayin that these techniques are more efficient than ones seen in pretty much every UFC and Boxing match. Not only are these techniques not restricted by rules, but they are also done in a way that keeps opponents from being able to strike you without having to block.

    The power of DK yoo is in his stance. His foot is gripped on to the floor which gives him tremendous power with each strike. A normal 70kg person could do damage like someone who weights 200kg with no technique if the 70kg person uses the same hip and feet stances as him.

  • @francetraveler
    @francetraveler 10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    This video is much more practical compared to the other systema videos you see on youtube, they're basically just fancy choreography and dance-type moves instead of actual strikes which this video shows.
    I'm still skeptical though, as to whether some of the things shown here would actually work in a real violent situation.
    Russian Spetsnaz also train in systema, but they have specifically modified it for them, it's very similar to this.
    This is a really good video overall, the strikes look devastating enough to cause serious injuries and long term damage.

    • @theopoulsen2395
      @theopoulsen2395 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah this video is a good demonstration. The other videos you refer to are taken from class of an exercise, these exercises are usually slower but not softer to teach a sensitivity and give an understanding of how the human body is working.
      Systema is the result of the Spetsnaz and KGB adaptation, it main original roots stem from the russian Cossacks, but today is mainly taught by ex spetsnaz.
      My instructor told me that a fight with a really good systema practitioner caught on camera will just look like all the guys around him are falling over and being stupid, because there is nothing visual about systema, it is purely functional and efficient. So it is best to give it a try!

    • @dhsung91
      @dhsung91 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, I can't give the same amount of praise in this case. Some of the 'slow' videos actually incorporate detailed explanations, which helps one to study the movements on his/her own. If the vid is just all rapid action, and nothing else, it can lead to misconceptions.

      Same principles, its an internal style martial art. From what I have read it was developed from the cossack style of fighting which was also a form of dancing. So think something along the lines of tai chi combined with capoeira.

    If you look at the near instantaneous punch at 1:09, you can see he actually sets it up with two steps:
    1. his left foot steps forward. it looks straight, but it really slightly turns to the left
    2. his right footsteps forward.
    3. Still leaning into the right step, he and uses the torque generated from the slightly turned left to punch.
    He is moving forward the entire time. and when he appears to pause and plant it's the load up for the punch.
    that shit is hard to do. but possible to avoid if you know what to look for.

      Well the uploader is the instructor in the video so I'm assuming he knows who he is teaching. Besides, this is just a seminar, he's showing them his knowledge in systema, this doesn't mean the people in the video chose this as their official martial art.

      dude. im guessing you are korean by your name, you think the south korean 707, UDT/SEAL or the SWC would be training here? LOL 80% of their training is classified and the only things they show you is for demos. Plus they will most likely have well built physiques. The chance of these skinny kids being in the special forces is 0.

    • @getfitdit

      Joe marine They are not training here they are being given a 'demonstration' (see the title of the video) The uploader is the instructor, I'm sure he is not lying about who is he giving a demonstration to. They are not training there merely being shown what its about. You're another typical arrogant egotistical loudmouth American you always see posting misinformation on TH-cam

    • @wutang8693

You realize that the SWC could travel outside their base right? Did you not notice the person in SWC pixel uniform holding the camera? In 0:55 you can see 3 SWC soldiers in uniform walking upstairs in the background.

    when people say systema is fake they don't realize that all these videos they see on youtube are just examples of how systema works in the background... people see slow videos and people wailing limbs and think its hocus pocus when the truth is systema is not a martial art in itself in the sense that it has stances and techniques... it is just a system you can apply to anything you do, you can apply it to any other martial art you know, so knowing other martial arts like jujitsu is important at well. systema teaches you how to breath properly which helps you stay calm and control fear, you learn that fear is the most powerful emotion you can experience and it is also not real. its all about breathing, relaxation (no tension makes you faster and hit deeper) and structure (maintaining yours and breaking others) its biomechanics and learning angles and levers where to apply pressure its all basic science but applied physically. and the hardest thing that also makes everything else easier is breathing. so you see systema is not a bs martial art it is just a system you apply in the background to anything you already know.

    • @JohnW704
      @JohnW704 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      when you learn to stay tension less and move without muscle but just focus on going from point A to point B without tensing up you will see how fast you can really be.

    Hey
    iam living in a big city and I encounter a lot of threats. The problem is iam not a coward and I find it hard to run away from people that threaten me openly.
    up until now the situations went through more or less cleanly, where I could stand myself good or avoid unnecessary fights without looking like a coward to myself. there are situations where you are just outnumbered or have a situational disadvantage though. but I also have somebody that persistently threatens me who has a long history in martial arts and street violence(also armed).
    I think I should invest a part of my time to learn and defend myself and/or others.
    I do not know what the best martial arts is for that matter.
    I got the tip that I should learn thai boxing, because iam tall, strong and have long legs. but I dont know how practical that is.
    personally I think Systema or Krav Maga seems like it makes much practical sense.
    I don't know about Eskrima or mixed martial arts.
    can someone give me a tip?
    thanks.
