"Make your everyday stance your fighting stance, your fighting stance should be your everyday stance." In this way, relaxation is utilized, full power utilized
I understand what the master is explaining. The Power or Qi is already moving, what we must learn is to kind of connect our body to the moving energy. In order to accomplish this, relaxation and tension are necessary internally and externally.
DK has done amazing research on biomechanics. He seems to be able to distill the essence of several internal martial arts. Many people honour him by comparing his performance with Bruce Lee but I think it is Bruce’s analytic mind, the research, that makes DK comparable to Bruce Lee. He seems to be an educated and classy human being. A modern martial artist. Not like some of the Neanderthals that have taken over martial arts.
Some of the people on here sound like the villains in Bruce Lee Movies. Your Kung Fu no Good, I will teach you a lesson Heeeey! Lol get your heads out of your buts and recognize that someone has MASTERED the fundamental principles of human Kinetic Motion and is taking the work of Jeet kun Do to a new level. We have more knowledge available than what we had 40 years ago so it is human nature to excel past its teachers. Form the looks of it Just like Bruce Lee he would probably say Is mastering instead of has mastered at least internally, oh and grammar police, I know this post has flaws
I m fed up with comments like "go and fight mma fighter if you dare hahaha" can you just understand that fighting is art? Everyone are looking at that like "hey i know how to fight i will go kick some asseZZZ" Thats a big NO NO if u think that u r strong enough to kick anyone u must use your skills for defending yourself or helping the weak one to become stronger And yes i m learning martial arts not to hurt anyone but to defend the weak ya all just need to get this and stop wiggling ur assess
Perfect Dude well that's not really point. If he is successful in fighting an mma fighter with some decent experience that proves he has created an art which is actually effective and doesn't give you a false sense of security when trying to for example defend someone and then getting beaten into a pulp
lord duck thing is,he could disarm or kill any mma fighter because thats what hes specialised in(he teaches close combat to Koreas special forces).hed definitely lose an mma match because its heavily rules regulated and he doesnt practise the sport.
+lord duck Yeah because everyone on the streets is a professional MMA fighter right? Pretty positive that he knows what he's doing. He wouldn't be training the South-Korean army otherwise.
So this is basically an explanation of the "whip effect " the body can have?? Twist your ankle, straighten you knee, twist your hips, rotate your shoulder and when the power reaches your knuckles, your hand is moving very very fast upon striking??
1845Raven in Tai Chi it's called loading the bow. There are several bows within the body, imagine a bow and arrow. Once you load, you're creating a potential energy structure within the body. If you use it as a reactionary force to compliment another movement, this is how you get dkyoo style speed. Make sense?
Everyone can explain it but no one can teach it to you. You can't apply it just because you know what it is or even how it works, especially when it involves your whole body. You have to feel it. Literally feel it and understand it. Not just "know" it.
Few nights ago, I was talking to a fellow workout buddy about this gentleman and his tecniques. Long story short, I ended up demonstrating some of the strikes at the friend... and ended up knocking him down because I mis-judged the distance and had poor control/form. Lesson here is do not try out these tecniques on other people unless you guys have the proper gears on (gloves, head gear, mouth piece etc.)... especially when you are just learning them! I felt horrible and embarressed. Yikes. Luckily I wasn't actually putting full motion behind the strike (which even then, it was enough to hurt and knock down the friend...).
He was just showing to his "student" or practitioner exactly what Bruce Lee was doing :) I wish I could train with this man , but I don't speak any Korean
this is basic lesson 101 in all martial arts. i've learned this in taekwondo during early 90s. and surprised this no longer taught in majority martial arts nowadays. weird
most people want quick results and are too lazy too learn internal stuff like these. for example in jkd the chi sao part from wing chun isnt in the curriculum anymore because like i said many doesnt want to learn it because it takes so long to master it.
can you please explain more about this training and what you did, i have just started itf taekwondo and would like your input on this subject , thank you
KawYew Lee this is complety different from the pivot movements to gather power in all martial arts, this is more advanced than that, involves not only pivot movements from the foot to the hips to the shoulders, it also involve correct beathing techniques and spine movement, aswell as spiral energy, is not as simple as the basics they teach in any martial art
thats where you and me are different. indeed , its is slightly different but the basics is still there however i've already knew these techniques long time ago. of course the old type masters will not teach you all these is detail. more or least they thought you 70-80% they knew. the rest is all up to you to learn, explore and figure it your yourself. not all master are similar. each have their own specialty.. which is why bruce lee went all around the world learning all types of martial arts. which is why this is interesting. which is why we are still here talking and exchanging idea. we are still learning too ^^
martial art is all everything so no one is wrong just learn be strong for is life is wicked and good be wise and stupid for mistakes make u wise And wise keeps u from being stupid both working as one to become stronger and sync just like ur work outs find ur mistake and improve evolve cause a mistake is level one to success

I have a question , if I meditate and practice Cham Jang Gong as you doing in this video and other videos where you showing us how to practice Cham Jang Gong, whether this is correct for me and whether the power may be increased? As Im fonding in Taekwando and calisthenics workout i wont to be better. :) Sorry for my poor english

movement=energy. every different movement creates more energy. add them all together at the same time to create a smooth and fluid single movement that will drive through anything. relaxation, speed, and adding different movements is what he is conveying. you must simply learn that you don't need to listen with your ears or eyes, but listen with your mind. I doubt DK YOO will ever see this comment, but if he does I hope he feels compelled to take me on as a student of his wonderful craft.

Hello dk yoo.i am from india.i am intersted in sistama but my laungage is tamil.so can't understand what you teaching.so you translate some videos in tamil.this useful to tamil peoples and they also learn sistma.
MegaEpic88 i'm guessing the translation would be 'chi', or 'ki' - this means (roughly) lifeforce, but it's also an energy or natural force that you can feel utilize, one can develop awareness of 'chi 'through long practice with a good teacher in Tai Chi Ch'uan, for example. Tui Sho (push hands) is also a good way to develop one's awareness of Chi!
"Make your everyday stance your fighting stance, your fighting stance should be your everyday stance." In this way, relaxation is utilized, full power utilized
the enthusiasm he has for the art is mesmerizing in its self.
this is very informative video. thank you and see you in Romania!
best regards from Poland!
I understand what the master is explaining. The Power or Qi is already moving, what we must learn is to kind of connect our body to the moving energy. In order to accomplish this, relaxation and tension are necessary internally and externally.
In about 2 or 3 years I shall move to South Korea. I am hoping to train with you no matter the cost. I love your methods. Great job.
Thanks for sharing, hope you will continue sharing these lessons. I would like to learn more about how to controls Qi. Thanks 🙏🏼

+lord duck Yeah because everyone on the streets is a professional MMA fighter right? Pretty positive that he knows what he's doing. He wouldn't be training the South-Korean army otherwise.
@@firebreathingfirebreather4042 So true. It is like asking a sumo wrestler to fight in a karate championships. Like where are people's heads at? Lol

Not to take away from his skill at all, because I KNOW he's the truth... But I'm 100 percent sure that DK is also a dancer.
