Actual fire alarms like the ones with a strobe? They are pretty expensive because you need a control panel but on smoke alarms there is a button somewhere and you press it or hold it to sound an alarm
Also - additional tip if you see smoke in a room from a fire. KEEP LOW TO THE GROUND. Don't stand up and walk around standing in the smoke...you can pass out or die from smoke inhalation much more easily. Of course, one of the toxins in fire smoke is CO - carbon monoxide, which of course can be a killer if you ingest too much. STAY LOW. The toxic gases from the fire-induced smoke have much less PPM or PPB concentrations close to the ground or at the ground. Stay low and crawl until you get out of that toxic-smoky room or house.

Best way to get rid of fire is to buy dry chemical fire extinguisher. Youll get least damage by smoothering the fire
But if its a larger fire, it would be harder to put it out with a extinguisher
