  • Make the squeaking stop!
    Many aftermarket (and many OEM) leaf packs begin to squeak after just a short period of time. We have a nearly guaranteed fix to eliminate those pesky (and embarrassing) squeaky leaf packs. We'll walk you through the entire process of everything you need as well as exactly how to complete this job. Today we are completing this job on our shop 2021 Toyota Tundra. This fix will work with most leaf packs installed on modern trucks such as Tacomas, F150s, etc.
    Our current favorite lubricant: wd40.com.au/product/high-perf...
    Still squeaking? You likely are getting noise at the bushings. Pulling one end of the leaf packs' ends off and heavily greasing the outside of the bushing will generally fix this issue.

    Loved seeing this implemented, and can say first hand, sounds so much better with this fix.

    A shop I went to cut a tire and put the rubber between the springs and sprayed some grease on it and so far it’s good. It’s been like 3 months

    Maxima motorcycle chain wax works well for squeaky suspension bushings and such. It sprays on liquid to penetrate and then dries like a wax to keep from attracting too much dirt.

      We'll take a look at that, and add it to our description if it works! Appreciate the input!

    I use surface shield by blaster and I coat the entire undercarriage with it. Then I jack up the body of the truck and spray it between the open leafs in the pack. Spray your underneath like this once a year for two to three years and it builds up to a nice surface to where no rust and no squeaks. I do like this idea as well

    Have the same set up and the squeak monster is frustrating at times. Will try this. Did you do anything to the actual bushings? Or just the plastic spacer pads. Thank and great vid. New sub here

      Hey there! We "generally" don't get a ton of noise from the bushings. Every situation is different, but we find this to be the fix most of the time. That said, we are pretty deliberate about greasing bushings on install too.

    Same leaf packs on my tacoma, loud as a mofo. About to trash them bc it’s a stupid problem.

    Do the inner tubes slide out after a bit? especially with the grease in between the leaf springs? just curious I'm trying to narrow down which method I want to use, thanks!

      We had one guy with a 1st Gen Tundra who runs high-speed often and he has to adjust his shims every few weekends when he races. Other than that, there's a bunch of other rigs out there who never has to fight with them moving!

    It sucks that Icon made leafs that squeak and have yet to fix this problem or quit selling them. Mine squeaked after 3,000 miles, and haven’t stopped. GET DEAVER if you’re in the market

    If your going to that extent you should just grease the pads and/or replace any damaged ones. A lot of people don't do regular maintenance on their leaf pack and have squeaking. Most installers never breaded them before putting them in either.

      you should actually cut those plastic pads out in the first place. according to ICON custy service.

      The crazy part is that these noises can occur at any time. The squeaks that we had occurred at less than 2,500 miles.

    Any updates on the squeaks. Did it comemback or pretty gone.

    Hey man just a question do the rubber bits slip out when your on a track and the leafs are flexing a lot

    • @hotshotoffroad
      @hotshotoffroad  หลายเดือนก่อน

      They'll shift around sometimes in high speed use-cases, but we don't get movement on them when we're crawling. There's enough pressure on them that even when the leaves open up they're pretty much pressed into place.

  • @austinwelder6237
    @austinwelder6237 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Any updates? Have they stayed in place since installing?

    • @hotshotoffroad
      @hotshotoffroad  หลายเดือนก่อน

      We OCCASIONALLY get a little bit of movement in the instances when we really lash on the suspension, but we've never had any fall out. Looking at the truck today I think that there's 3 pieces that could use adjustment, but there's no sound from back there at all.

    Am I missing something? I thought the noise came from the bushings.

    • @hotshotoffroad
      @hotshotoffroad  หลายเดือนก่อน

      In our experience a lot of the noise from Icon RXTs anyway come from the interaction between the leaves themselves! It's not often from the bushings. Now their UCAs on the other hand... definitely the bushings!
