This is a great chainsaw for the price. It's easy to work on and parts are very easy to get. They are $119 right now at Home Depot. If you need a chainsaw and don't want to spend a lot on it, this is your chainsaw. You will cry a lot less if it falls off your truck or gets ran over by the tractor. I have 4 of these now. One at my home and 2 working ones at my land. The 4th one is broken because I broke the handle by dropping it. I use this one for parts. Hope this helps. Take Care. Please like and subscribe!!! 👍

I have been using the 3714 for quite some time. Daily. Felling and bucking for my firewood business. Not one complaint, criticism or disappointment from day one. I love it. Complete maintenance after EVERY use. Learn to sharpen your chain. The OEM chain is best transferred out in favor of an Oregon. This saw handles very well. Half wrap handle is a plus. Do your due diligence and this saw gets it done. I use only Echo or PowerCare Bar & Chain Oil. Take care of it and it will take car of you.

Great tips and feedback. It's a lot of chainsaw for the money.

It certainly is a lot of chainsaw for the money. I have not run into any of the issues resulting in complaints or criticisms by others. For Delta One Firewood Services, we take a different approach when harvesting trees. We currently have a bit less than a four acre area which is densely wooded where heavy vines run across the floor and frequently tie up trees near the crown so dropping a tree which does not get hung up is a rarity. We use double bit axes to fell the trees and then bring in the Ryobi 3714 for bucking and climbing. It is understandably critical the saw is superbly maintained and sharpened. We either use TruFuel rated at 92 Octane or mix our own with 92 Octane gasoline from the pump and Bar/Chain Oil. Chain tension is watched closely throughout. When necessary, felling wedges are used to avoid bar pinches. The resulting 5'-6' logs are hauled out by chains. We then buck them into 10"-12" rounds and hand split and stack. Our customers ask for the smaller sizes. We do this daily. Every day, the Ryobi is there. We do our part and it's there when needed. The 3714 is far more than a short term storm cleanup saw. Yes, I do push it hard but it is very well taken care of in and out of the woods. I may jump up to the 20" eventually but for now, the 3714 14" gets it done.

I have one. I like it. Works great. Light weight and simple to use and clean.

Very nice! I feel the same way. And cheap to fix and replace.

I have one of these and they are great. That is a lot of chainsaw for the price. Mine is probably 10 years old but still working fine. Blow it off real good after each use and clean the carb. Will run forever.

Right on. Mine are not that old, so it's good to see they are lasting a long time if taken care of.

Now the negative. It worked and did a great job until a few days ago it was bogging down and said it must be hot so let it sit for half a hour and ran it again and it still bogged down and was not hot. Parked it and used a larger saw to cut firewood so decided to take a look and zero compression.
That makes it the end of the road for this saw, too bad rest has no wear at all. I bought a electric 110ac Oregon saw to replace it with.
Not everyone is going to have good luck with this product

Wow, yeah. That is not cool. Sorry to hear that. Did you find out why you were getting low compression? Blown seal or rings?

It’s a great little saw. I can run it all day and not tire myself out. I like the fact I can swap in the 16” blade and chain if need be. That makes it a great companion for my pro grade 18” Pioneer Farm Saw.

Yes, I like it. For a cheap saw it's pretty good. I think I would have a few really nice ones if I lived up north in firewood country, but here in Texas we only use firewood for BBQ. 😂

Great point! I should have filled the oil and gas and fired it up. Sorry, did not think about that at the time. I will do it on my next one.

Given the times, I expected your next purchace to go electric/battery!

    • @SeidelRanch
      @SeidelRanch  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I did have one, but I ended up selling it. I just did not use it enough around the house and at the land the battery just could not keep up. When cutting a lot of trees, gas still wins in this arena. Battery was great around the house on quick cuts though.

Is it normal that it doesn’t come with the log spikes that dig into the log for leverage? The image shows the spikes but reviews I’ve seen no one has them.

There is a tiny one built into it on this model, but it's not the large black one in the Home Depot pictures. If you look at the video here: th-cam.com/video/Se04m9_UhMI/w-d-xo.html you will see the tiny metal one it has. There are 2 screws there where one can be added link in the Ryobi photos.
