In this video I give an overview of the safety instructions and show you how to start up your Ryobi RY3716 home chainsaw. This is also good for the 14" model: RY3714. To see how to clean, tighten/change the blade and how to get the cover on and off see here: • How to Take Apart & Cl...

I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

Thanks! Just purchased and couldn't get it to start...was going to return it but watched your video and realized I had skipped a step. As you pointed out...you need to push the choke back in after the first 3-5 pulls, and then pull again. Instructions weren't super clear about that.

Yeah, mine won’t start. Used it three times. Won’t start. Going to go battery powered. At least they work when you need it.

OMG! I have to agree with everyone else. This video is simply amazing. You go step by step in an easy to follow format. Thanks for saving my chainsaw. I'm on my way to the next video to learn about maintenance. No point in paying somebody to do what you can teach me to do myself. (You are awesome)

Thank for sharing your video. 1st time users and for RYOBI too. This chainsaw may not be like the typical commercial chainsaw but it works for me. Cut a small tree in my backyard that was leading with no problem.

You are not the only one that suggests you should take the brake off, but my instructions clearly state that the brake should be on. It makes sense from a safety point of view.

@@robert_costello engines last longer at 40:1. Also more tolerant of slight discrepancies in mixing fuel. Runs cooler, if being used in higher ambient temperatures.

Perfect video, you are the only one who explained everything, thanks for that, but unfortunately after priming it over and over, the bulb doesn't fill with gas and obviously it doesn't start. Oh well, in the garbage it goes. Guess I'll try another brand.

That chain is looser than my ex girlfriend.. tighten her up, otherwise good video. My Ryobi gas saw pops off like that pretty easy, I hear a lot of pro battery powered saw users etc complaining about gas tools but I used the premixed fuel without issues.. even threw a splash of fuel stabilizer in it and the saw sat for almost a year.. fired right up so I dont believe the bullshi and and as a bonus 2 stroke gas engine emissions smell good. At least thats what my son tells me but i remember as a kid enjoying the gas smelled when filling up the car so who knows😂
