    I’ve seen you do some really nice things for Phil so I think he feels the same way and wanted to show how much he appreciates you as a friend.

      Yes, it was. The trailer is pretty rough, no doubt about it but I can shape it up.

    Good on Uncle Phil! Trailer looks like a good blank canvas to make into something nice. Also the old C20 looks like it might be a keeper!

    Nice one! Have you thought about getting a paint job for the truck?

    I would suggest, based on my own mistakes, that if you are not using the trailer often, remove the wheels and tires and store them in a cool, dry place. I have a 10 year old 2 wheel car dolly with tire with less than 2,000 miles on them. The last time I used it, one of the tires was so dry rotted that it didn’t get 10 miles with a car loaded before one shredded. I don’t use it often, and time goes by fast. If I had the forethought to remove the wheels and store them indoors, I am very sure they would still be in decent, useable condition despite their age. The weather completely ruined them. Nice score with the car hauler! Only problem is that now you have to keep the truck or you’ll have a wagon but no mule to pull it!

      Lol, that's right. Those were actually the wheels and tires that belong on my Chrysler. I tried to buy some used wheels but the idiot wouldn't agree to show them so I said the heck with it. You're right though, the UVA is what kills them. I think you can buy tire covers as well.

    If it doesn’t have brakes then may be worth it to just buy a electric brake axle and replace the axle with the bad spindle. Mine just has brakes on one axle, if I recall it’s the front axle.

    • @TylersNeighborhoodGarage
      @TylersNeighborhoodGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good idea. Something in there needs work based on the movement I saw on one of the spring shackles.

    • @mjmcomputers
      @mjmcomputers 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TylersNeighborhoodGarage the springs and and center pivot have nylon bushings that wear out. You can buy the bushings and slip them in. If the bolts wore into the shackles or center pivot then they are pretty cheap to replace. I found a local place here that was much cheaper than any big box store but that was years ago. I’m sure now you can find parts cheap online. I think I recall seeing then 4 bolt flange behind the spindle. That’s where the brake setup bolts to. We added brakes to ours and it just bolted in but if you have spindle issues then you can probably just do the whole axle and be far ahead.

    Ya know, you only need wheels on one axle if you want to pull it on the highway unloaded.

    I drink, but i do it in moderation. I am lucky if i buy a case of beer every 3 months, and the cases i buy are like only 12 dollars for 18 bottles. I hate cans. Otherwise the rum, and coke is my drink of choice. Usually i only have one, but considering it was New Years Eve i had two. I cut myself off after that. You should watch that video from Vice Grip Garage where he buys a cheap Chevy truck on marketplace to tow his 1950's Buick.

      LOL...I was afraid to watch your live..LIVE because I was afraid you'd be sh*tfaced or throwing up LOL. I used to be an "In a crowd" drinker until it helped destroy a car and caused legal and financial jeopardy. After that I dumped the alcohol and the no-good "friends" and never looked back.

    I guess you could grab one axle with brakes.. That way you can put a car on the trailer. I’m not sure about your state , but here in Ontario , Canada we have to run brakes once over I think 3,000 lbs or something.

    • @TylersNeighborhoodGarage
      @TylersNeighborhoodGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It needs brakes for sure. A few years ago I almost bought the trailer we used to haul a race car in.....1980. I passed though because although it was steel, it had an open floor and trailer axles.

    Now here is something you can use to bring more projects home, when you consider,if you have to.bring one of the cars home or if you ever need to move a car from your house to Uncle Phil*s house and vice versa.

    I think you did enough stuff on the pickup, it should go for many miles. My best to Uncle Phil, hope he is passed over by this Media virus.
