Nice job! Trailer turned out really nice. If it's not too late... you might call the seller back and ask him if he'll sell you the winch for the additional $300 you saved. If I'm seeing that right correctly, that looks like a Warn 8274 winch. If it works... it's absolutely worth the $300 (really considerably more). If you pull the winch and restore it (less than $200 for parts), that's a $1000+ winch. Best, one of THE most desirable winches Warn ever built.

    • @charliefarms1

That makes a lot of sense. He talked about how good of a winch it was, but it did need some repairs for it to work. Just noticed your profile pic.. he was a jeep guy too haha. Yall woulda got along 😂

I have never "flipped" a trailer, but I have worked on my own trailers enough. I always use a flux core wire feed welder for the fenders and thin metal. Much easier to control than a stick welder.

Word of advice, if you are using wet pressure treated lumber you do not need to gap the boards will shrink, this goes for decking and fencing or anything outside,
Experience in decks and fences with the states leading builder, we butt up each piece because of shrinking if you gap just a 1/4in it will end up 1/2-3/4in gap...

@@charliefarms1I came here just to comment this. Having working brakes is a huge plus. A trailer that size can fit a pickup, so having the ability to stop that much would be great. Trailer brakes are stupid easy to wire. A ground and a power wire. Also, venture away from the cheap and easy wiring kits. Normally made with cheap wiring, and from the kits I’ve seen, cheap lights. You can run a good 7 pin setup very easily, and if you do it right, the constant 12v power wire can charge a battery that feeds the winch you mount on it. Had you gone that far, easily a 3500 to 4k trailer.

@@charliefarms1 Wiring that isn't like 16 gauge and that doesn't have a soft plastic coating that I can just push my fingernail through easily would be a good start. Everywhere that wiring rests against metal edges it will be compromised by simply using the trailer. Anywhere it is exposed to wind so that it moves, the wire sheathing will be cut through easily. And the wire once exposed corrodes insanely fast. The last set I put in my trailer lasted a year and when I pulled it out to replace it the wire was literally falling apart into pieces, and I had 95% of it sitting in conduit.
If you're doing a quick flip on a trailer, no doubt it's been working out for you because you own the trailer a week with the wiring installed. I'm just saying to people watching this working on their own trailers, don't use that junk.

Nice job, but that's nowhere near enough profit for it to be worth the effort.

Very little effort if he enjoys doing it. Might be relaxing for him to be outside actually fixing things up.
And there’s not enough profit in anything these days (that’s legal) with what it costs to live now.

I can drop off 3 skip bins in 40 minutes how bad is it out there to spend 13 hours trying to flip 800$ profit
