The MAG's bum ass automatic program may pick Stephen Nedoroscik. If he hits another high 14 while others flop on pommel horse, he's taking the 5th spot. But who knows if he will show up a 15 or a 12 (like 2022), or Bordy's legs f-ed up in TF...🤡MAG's selection criteria is stupid. On top of that, Donnell was lowballed by the insane judging on RSG vault (USA MAG are you going to use 5.2 5.2 5.6 vaults while other top teams are stacking at least 5.6 5.6 5.6 vaults ??????). Right now, the program favors Stephen > Paul > Donnell > Asher for the 5th spot....
Agreed. This is idiotic the way they locked in the specialist spot like this. The team will be so much weaker and who knows if he even hits when needed. PH is always dangerous for everyone but if he's a specialist and this is his only contribution, falling isn't and option. If Khoi falls on PH but does other events like at World's, he's still contributing to the team in other ways.
I've never had the opportunity to partake of gymnastics but I sure like to watch them. That guy name koinobori he's real good on the bars . He moves very splendid on the bars. I wish I could see him more often.
If we're just going off of what we saw at Nationals, then it has to be Donnell. And I wasn't even looking at P bars or floor. Just based on vault and rings alone, Donnell has been more consistent. If Asher outperforms him (significantly) at trials, then I'll switch my answer to Asher, but if they score very close to each other or Donnell slightly outscores him in those two events, then it's him for sure. I also think Donnell is a sentimental favorite with this being likely his last opportunity, whereas Asher should be around for many years to come. But I'm not factoring in to my selection criteria at all.
I want Curran Phillips to go or Paul juda But between Asha and Donnell it would definitely have to be Donnell (but he has to bring back the triple pike on rings lol)
I LIKE your team. & I hope that Donnell is the fifth man. His rings are epic, & he's been more consistent in the past two+ yrs. Asher hasn't stepped up to show that he can handle the pressure, as compared to Khoi & Yul who had crummy Day 1 results & didn't on Day 2. GO DONNELL!!!!
I like your team too. I do think Paul Juda is to be considered based on his strengths. Happy to see Donnell or Asher. Donnell is a veteran and Asher is the upstart.
He could hit at Liverpool in 2022, but he has flopped since then. Once the bonus system stop carrying him to the team, he's probably not gonna make the team.
Yul is my favorite gymnast, but I don't think he's a lock on this team yet. He hasn't had the results lately to justify solidifying him as a lock. I do ultimately think he'll make the team, but it's not a for sure deal to me yet. I think Brody, Fred, and Khoi are the only locks. The final 2 spots are up for grabs, but one will go to either Donnell or Asher. I'm hoping Yul is the 4th spot, but I could realistically see it being Shane Wiskus or Paul Juda. I hope they don't go with Stephen Nedoroscik or Curran Phillips because that would be putting all of your eggs in one basket. As great as they are on pommel and P bars respectively, neither of them could be counted for on any other event. Shane and Paul can both score in the 14s on at least 4 different events each.
💯 If it were a 6 man team, you can risk taking a 1 event specialist, but with only 5 spots, it is too much of a gamble. If someone were to go down, the team would be in deep trouble.
Curran Phillips has 3 contributing events [5.2 vault, 6.9 (15.6+) parallel bar, 5.9 (14+) high bar], 1 backup floor, and he's a strong medal contender on parallel bar. Stephen Nedoroscik only has one, and his PH is either 15 or 12. My ideal team is Brody, Fred, Khoi, Yul, Donnell. But the program favors Brody, Fred, Khoi, Yul, Stephen, so it's actually 4-3-3...
@@cocoroni1031 The U.S. is weak on pommels, vault, and rings compared to China and Japan. But Khoi, Brody, Fred and Yul could all put up good enough scores on pommels (if they hit). How does the program favor Stephen over Donnell when Donnell is the only one who could qualify to two event finals, and put up scores on two other events as well?
@@captainbryce1 MAG doesn't select based on people. The computer program is already there. It doesn't matter if Khoi, Brody, Fred and Yul will contribute good PH score. Khoi (day 1), Fred, Yul bombed or scored very low at nationals. Stephen is consistently on the highest scoring team by two measures (average + highest). If he hits another PH routine at Olympic Trials, he's nearly locked to Paris. It's just how stupid the program is.
@@captainbryce1 Also, China gives up team (both MAG and WAG) for individual gold from what I heard. It's sad that USA will not capitalize the opportunity because of the stupid program. The only chance Donnell / Paul can get the 5th spot is when Stephen flops both days and insane judges don't lowball 6 vaults.
I agree with you on Brody, Frederick, and Khoi . However, I think the team probably will be Paul and Donnell or Curran Yul could be on the team but he isn't a lock for me.

Agreed. They will keep taking him if he hits poms.

Also Donnell won worlds team bronze in 2014

It's definitely going to be a nail biter if both hit these 4 events both days.
Fred brought me back to the men’s team.
My new fav❤
Also Khoi and Asher. They have made the team exciting!
@@SquirtlePower809 wouldn’t know who they were if I hadn’t started following Fred. Fan of the whole team. An Ian fan too.

Take paul juda he can be good on h bar and vault. Also a better floor worker by a good margin.

I did look at Paul as well. He was my 1st one out after Asher and Donnell.
Asher for some reason has issues handling big event pressure.

What about Curran Phillips? He can win a silver medal on PB, 5.6 DV vault, and 6.0+ DV HB!
He missed one day competition. The program cancels one-day score out of four days on each event, but he already fell on HB and VT.

Yul has to be on there. No if's ands or butts. Yul's scores as an AA er are too valuable and his leadership from World 's team final was necessary.
As long as Khoi and Fred make it, I don’t really care about the rest tbh
The real question is, who guna be da white boi out?!?! FYI, it's Brody.....love the diversity of the American squad!!!
