Note: A Team with Kayla DiCello would only score 0.05 lower, with Jade 0.100 lower. The battle is pretty close between Jordan, Kayla and Jade, but I don't think Kayla can outscore Jordan internationally (if both hit) and Carey will probably upgrade her floor.
So what are you 5 picks then, please? Mine: Simone, Shi, Suni, Kayla, and maybe Skye or Jade?? Not sure about final two, I'm only a fan too.. but I just know my favorites, and I don't think Jordan is really to my appeal, and I think Skye is sometimes overscored.. these are just my opinions.. :)
@@jennifersimmons964 I think the team will be Simone, Shilese, Sunisa, Skye and the best between Jordan, Kayla and Jade. Skye and Sunisa will definitely make the team if they continue to hit.
@gymnasticfan9148 Agree 100%. Barring injury or meltdowns from your top 4, it is jordan, kayla, and jade for spot 5. If I was betting, Id guess Jordan with kayla next. Jade was nowhere near the 14+ scores on bars or beam either day. She needs floor upgrades with no dropoff in execution to break 14 there. Jordan and kayla each showcased the ability to go 14+ on 3 events. Advantage them.
@@wileecoyote671Kayla has horrible form tho that the judges would take off a lot on. Like how do you have bent knees on a dty?? So realistically it would be between Jordan and jade
It really all comes down to consistency at trials and who’s gonna score the highest on floor. This’ll be interesting! IMO, Jordan/Kayla/Jade all need to have a competition like Skinner did at trials in 2021. Hit 8/8.
@@tv-21 Yes a very underrated quality. However as much as I like that about her I would go with Jade instead and have both Jordan and Kayla as travelling alternates.
With Suni, Skye, Shi, and Simone, you really only need someone doing floor, and I think Kayla can consistently score higher than Jo on floor. Though, I think her scores have maxed out and will not go above low 14s on any event.
And that is why this is my team 💅🏻 I can’t get over Jordan’s floor. That girl’s artistry is so fun to watch. She dances and expresses during her routine better than anyone in the country
Shilese is a serious threat. Everyone beware. There's so many good gymnasts in this class of 24. So excited to see what everyone can do. Grab your seats and get the popcorn 🍿 out lol
I agree. I have time and time again said on here that her 6+ difficulty floor will give the US the ONLY other opportunity aside from Simone to get a 14+ on floor and her Cheng will outscore ANY DTY that anyone else, in the US or in the world will post. Jade just has to bring it all to bear at Trials.
@@Coco_Demi_Gymnastics But artistry is only judged on floor and beam though not anywhere else. In addition to that fact, it is not the most important component either to one's routine.
@@aliciamcdonald7105 true, her form needs a lot of improvement as well. Between her and Jordan, Jordan definitely has a better form and better artistry.. also has been scoring higher.
Jade needs to bring back some more difficulty or the amanar back, her tumbling is difficult but her d score is still kinda low, i think she needs something close to her tokyo routine to get in the 14s
Based on results so far the team is probably Biles, Jones (assuming her shoulder injury is nothing serious and just being cautious), Lee (would like to see her upgrade a bit on bars even if not her full possible difficulty), Blakely (but she needs to do the same thing BOTH nights of trials because I am still sus about her hitting on the biggest stage because at worlds she kept falling), and I think Jordan. Carey has to upgrade her floor to what she can do and if she gets around 14pts both nights at trials, she would be my pick (she would give you 3 chengs in team finals). DiCello is still a legitimate option if Chiles, Carey, or Blakely have awful nights at trials and she hits. Wong needs to have the best 2 nights of her career at trials. Roberson needs to have the best floor and vaults of her career at trials. Rivera I think is still too green with how many good gymnasts have so much international experience.
I feel like Jordan might pull out a cheng in trials because she has really great vaulting technique, has been seen training chengs before, and already has an amazing Lopez too, and she probably realises that if she can bring a good cheng and hits her floor both nights there’s a really high chance of her making the team
Skye has matured so much this season, she's not the shy little girl anymore, I feel this will carry over very well on the international stage. I do hate ruling out Jordan, she thrives on the bigger stages and I don't think the team is safe without her
@@KeeHart if Blakely does at trials what she did both nights of nationals, you have to put her on the team because of that Cheng vault. I am still going to worry about if she is going to have a fall or 2 at the Olympics like she has had at 2022 and 2023 world championships.
@@Haazza if Jordan pulls off competitive chengs both nights (even if lower than Carey and Blakely) and keeps pace with Carey on floor, she will be on the team, pushing out Carey (assuming Blakely also has hits both nights of trials).
I think it's going to come down to difficulty, consistency, and ability to overcome challenges honestly. Everyone knows Simone and Shilese are lock ins, of course, but in my opinion it will end up being Suni, Skye, and either Kayla or Jordan...Kayla has had better routines
The United States always puts up at least 3 people to do the all around in qualifications, so I think the team will be made up of at least 3 all-arounders and 2 "specialists". I think it'll be Simone, Shilese, and Skye for AA, Suni for BB/UB, and there's a wider opening for VT/FX (probably Chiles, since she can also fill in on all 4 events, too). Though I'll make a case for Suni being the third AAer by the time the olympics come if she can up her difficulty on UB and FX and prove herself in training.
Unless, for some health or other reasons, Suni just can't do all-around --- for which she was crowned in the last Olympics --- she will do the all around, IF SHE QUALIFIES for Paris. The TINY EDGE she has, or will have if she qualifies for Paris, over the younger women is experience and certainty: she has already proven herself in the Olympics, like Simone; and she had TAKEN on the mantle, when Simone got sick. If you're a first timer, however, you HAD to prove your case a bit more. ALL these are elite gymnasts, with strengths and weaknesses. From Biles --- even the greatest of them all ---- on down, ANYONE, at any SECOND, could fall of the beam or bars. Again, those who've shown international and Olympic consistencies will, all things being equal, given a tiny benefit of the doubt ("We have seen her BEFORE, in the Olympics"...) At everyone's best, how many women gymnasts beat Biles on the beam or the bars? Suni has done it quite a few times, some being very crucial times...
I don't see Skye doing AA in quals over Suni tbh - I really feel that she's going to get nailed on her Cheng form internationally and it won't be as big of an advantage as it might seem on paper.
@@FlyingPancake0390it is still too early to tell, but based on now I would put Skye over suni. Suni would need to upgrade her bars, be consistent on beam at trials, and hit floor and vault. Skye’s vault will still score fairly high and she has a higher chance of a good floor score than Suni. But whoever does a third all around most likely won’t make finals due to shields and simone
@@damienpatrickshane9056 we know Suni bars are coming and Suni is beating her on beam. Skyes day 2 Cheng just makes me a little nervous. If Simone or Shi can’t do AA for whatever reason, I’d much rather have Suni in that spot than Skye, especially considering their respective international track records.
@@FlyingPancake0390 that’s a fair point. I do agree Suni has proven to do well under pressure, even at international events, but I personally think that Skye has a higher potential and they would go with her, but I don’t know for sure yet. They are both amazing gymnasts and either way they would do well
My team would be: Simone biles Shilese jones Skye Blakely Kayla dicello Suni lee But I am kinda undecided on the last spot ( #5 ) but after championships I think suni would be the most likely to take that spot.
Simone and Shilese obviously, Skye (if she is consistent with her cheng), Suni (if consistent on bars at trials), I think the final spot will go to either Jade, Jordan, or Kayla (probably whoever is the best at trials)
Simone and Shilese are locked in. Other 3 spots will be a battle of consistency on Trials for Suni, Skye, Jordan, Kayla. Still hoping to see Jade on full power.
No one is "locked in." Not even the greatest of them all, Biles. All who qualified for the Olympic trials will have to go through them, in MN. If, for some odd/ailment reasons, Biles did really badly on 2-3 main events, she wouldn't be picked. Ditto for all others, too, of course... But if everyone performed roughly 95% or so on every event (not falls, etc), doing their very most difficulty routines, then, yes, no one is going to beat Biles' AVERAGE...
@@Astrophysicistinthemaking On this we agree, only a SERIOUS injury/illness will debar Simone from making this team. I believe at this stage that the same thing goes for Suni and Shilese as well.
simone biles (AA) skye blakely (AA) shilese jones (AA) suni lee (UB, BB) for me those 4 are kind of locks if healthy and consistent so we have the last spot going to a VT, FX good worker to be honest they have plenty of girls jade jordan kayla tiana kaliya leanne my personal opinion based on last championships is tiana sumanasekera (best floor among them and solidy dty), however, jordan and jade can step forward since they do 2 vaults, but right now jade doesn't have much scoring potential on floor and can be beated by skye on vt which makes weaker her claim to the spot right now i would take jordan chiles for the last spot, thinking that she can help on any event better than carey, has better ub than tiana, and scores relatively well on vt and fx kayla dicello makes more sense being a trustable all arounder than a vt, fx worker (to be honest her fx was weirdly scored on championships to me, hope im wrong), said that she can be the alternate to finish, trials is going to be crucial to justify the last spot girl, since jade can upgrade, jordan shows inconsistency, and a lot more can happen
The PERFECT team with Jordan and Kayla as alternates. Jordan has that intangible but highly underrated ' buddy team mate ' spirit that would go well with any team.
Love Suni but she’s not well enough yet. Being treated every 3 months now and I am certain she’s on daily medication. Love Suni, but sorry, I am a mother and sister going through the same. It’s terribly painful. It’s not about what she wants, she goes to the Mayo Clinic and they advised her against gymnastics. Just get better Suni, you can’t cure a damaged kidney, you can only treat one. It’s a vital organ.
@@mylesastinnette6208 At this stage it is not for ANYONE else to determine what she can do. The doctors can only advise her but all decisions are hers to make. If she wants to go to Paris and she meets the criteria set, then to Paris she will go. I certainly want Suni to be and stay healthy above all but sometimes the best way to stay healthy is to have a positive mind and attitude. It may well be that without college to keep her mind and body active, she needs this almost as a distraction. Since it is something she loves, I can't fault her.
No shade, but Jade is most likely NOT making this team. What is wrong with yall. She's NOT in the top 5 AA. She's only top 3 vault. Her floor routine is terrible and with the rule changes her difficulty wont matter much. If she continues to compete as she has and makes this team, it will be huge scandal because she currently doesn't deserve it.
@@0xTRellyx0 Domestic scoring is NOT indicative of international scoring. Domestic judging scored Jade's VAULT and FLOOR lower than other people's routine at the US Nationals and Trials in 2021 but guess what? Only Jade's and Simone's vault and floor qualified in Tokyo and Jade won it ALL in the floor final. Jade definitely has to upgrade her floor and bring back her Amanar to ENSURE her spot on the team. As I have SHOWED numerous times on here, with POOR choreography, artistry and tumbling, Sabrina Voinea still scored 13.7 on floor at last year's Worlds and I am CERTAIN that Jade IS or NEVER could be that bad.
I also need to add that this notion that Skye always chokes internationally and Jade always hits is getting tiresome. Anyone can crack in the biggest meet of the year, especially a teenager. Skye is older, more mature, and hitting now when it counts. Anyone can miss, just look at last Olympics. Jade scored a 0 on her vault. She redeemed herself on floor finals. Skye is earning her chance at redemption.
i also hate this notion that skye "always chokes internationally". people need to get over the falls at 2022 worlds. it was two years ago, she was 17 then and is 19 now. and as for 2023 quals it was just one bad beam routine that she didn't get a chance to redeem herself for. also the fall she had last year was caused by her going for a connection when she was a little off, it's not like she split the beam or anything. obviously that fall rattled her a little for the dismount. i thought her hitting a stellar bar routine in team final said a lot about her mental fortitude, as I'm sure she was crushed after qualifications. if we want skye to reach her full potential we need to stop constantly bringing up past mistakes anytime she does literally anything.
The only reason Sky is getting so much hate is because they want Jade so badly. In my Kanye voice: "Shes not that good" 🤷🏾. Not that good to be getting so much love at the expense of gymnasts who consistently beat her in competition.
Jade would make the fifth spot on the team with Simone, Shi, Skye, and Suni. Her upgrades will out score on floor over Jordan and Kaliyah and Kayla. Plus Jade would definitely out score everyone but Simone on vault. Maybe Skye may or may not beat Jade on vault but no one else
If S.Jones is healthy at trials and Suni performs her fully upgraded bars routine, my team would be: Biles. S.Jones, Sky, Suni, Jade. I would not pick Jordan Chiles for the team for 4 reasons: 1) Chiles doesn't have the long lines. 2)The international judges don't like her artistry in her floor routine. 3)her falling twice at the latest competition. 4) terrible performance at Tokyo Olympics
@angelamcdaniel849 Well that is how you see things and you are certainly entitled to your view. I on the other hand will not include Jordan on my team at this stage for only ONE reason and that is because she does not have a medal worthy routine ANYWHERE. Of course if she were to fall another time or times at Trials I would not want her on the team for that IN ADDITION to not having medal potential. 'Long lines' nor the best artistry on floor Simone does not have either but it HAS NOT and WILL NOT keep her from winning floor every time because artistry is NOT the most important component of a floor routine but acrobatics is.
If/when Jade upgrades floor I think she'll take Jordan's spot. I love both and wish they could both be on the team! In the end though with an upgraded floor and tidy vaults Jade probably has more to offer, plus better medal potential in event finals. I think it'll be Simone, Shilese, Skye, Suni, and Jade. Alternates Jordan, Kayla, Leanne (brutal to be the alternate twice for these two), and maybe Jocelyn.
My 2024 Olympic Team Prediction: Simone (AA), Shi (AA), Skye(VT/FL), Suni(UB/BB) and Jordan(AA)/Kayla(AA)/Jade(VT/FL) for the 5th spot. whichever two gymnasts aren't selected for the 5th spot will be traveling alternates/replacement athletes and either Leanne/Kaliya/Hezly will be named non-traveling alternate. Jade with an upgraded floor/vault will consistently score higher than Jo and Kayla internationally on those events and has the added benefit of potentially medaling on vault and floor individually. If the 4 core athletes above are chosen at trials, the only real spot that needs filling is floor/Vault, and with upgrades, I can't justify leaving the reigning Olympic floor champion at home. Olympic Trials will tell all but for me, it's between Jordan and Jade (with upgrades) for that 5th spot. if they want an athlete who can fill in anywhere and go up instead of Skye on FL then Jordan. If they want an athlete who can win a second medal on FL/VT in individual EF and also go up instead of Skye on FL and in addition to Skye on VT then Jade. Realistically, there isn't enough separation between Jordan and Kayla score-wise to justify one over the other, so Jordan is simply my personal preference. Both Jordan and Kayla (separated by 10ths) can step in on any event if needed. Although neither Jordan or Kayla will contend for any individual EF medals I honestly trust them to hit internationally in Quals/TF much more than Skye whos largest advantage at present is her upgraded Cheng vault. if Simone and Shi do AA in Prelims and Skye is only used for VT (so she can contend for a Vault medal), I'm MORE nervous to bring Skye for anything other than vault in TF because her track record for hitting international isn't great. Im much more comfortable knowing they could put Jordan/Kayla in anywhere and Jade on Vault and more importantly Floor in TF. Quals_ 4 up/3 count VT: Carey/Chiles, Jones, Blakely, Biles (Lee) UB: Chiles, Lee, Biles, Jones (Blakely) BB: Jones, Blakely, Biles, Lee (Chiles) FL: Carey/Chiles, Jones, Biles, Blakely (Lee) TF_ 3 up/3 count VT: Carey/Chiles, Blakely, Biles UB: Lee, Biles, Jones BB: Blakely/Jones, Biles, Lee FL: Jones, Carey/Chiles, Biles AA: Biles, Jones (Lee/Blakely) EF_ VT: Biles, Blakely/Carey UB: Biles/Lee, Jones BB: Biles, Lee FL: Biles, Jones/Carey Thoughs?
You have done an excellent job in breaking down what the main contenders for that fifth and final spot can add to the team. I personally would choose Jade because I think the US should maximize having 3 Chengs for their first rotation. This will set them up nicely which I think will be EXTREMELY important for Team Finals and any falls along the way can be absorbed by that lead on vault. Jade's inclusion will also provide the US with the best opportunity to come away with the most medals from any Olympic so while her bars and beam is not useable as such, it does not need to be. Simone, Shilese, Suni and Skye are enough by themselves to see well after those.
@@aliciamcdonald7105 Fair point well made. Historically the US has always chosen the gymnast in accordance with how they contribute to the team puzzle and if they medal individually thats a bonus. I don’t see why the highest scoring potential team can’t also be the one with the potential for 2 individual medals in every event final. I see absolutely no real issue having both skye and Jade on the team for (VT) along side Simone, Shilese and Suni. I’ll be happy with a team with Jade (upgraded FL) or Jordan in that 5th spot and who that could be comes down to different mindsets of what the team’s composition should optimize. My Dream team would be Simone, Shilese, Suni, Jade and Jordan with Skye, Kayla and Kaliya/Leanne/Hezly as replacement athletes but I’m aware that this isn’t super realistic unless we disregard the all around standings and Skyes contribution on VT. What can I say I selfishly want Simone, Suni, Jade and Jordan on this Olympic team together with the addition of Shilese ( if healthy) and will do mental gymnastics to will it so lol. But if the decision of which team composition makes the most sense needs to be made than yes Simone, Shilese, Suni, Skye and Jade make the most sense in terms of one of the highest scoring teams/highest potential for 2 additional medals per event.
Mine too. I don’t care who does the biggest skills.Shilese is elegant , clean, and hits her routines 99% of the time. I feel she’s mentally ready. We need to pick our mentally ready girls that hit there routines consistently. Not the wins with the highest scoring move. If they don’t hit because they’re not mentally mature or ready for this type of stress and they crack, then that big skill doesn’t matter anyway
My Prediction: Simone, Shilese, Suni, Skye, and Jade. VT- Simone, Jade(scores well internationally), Skye or Shi UB-Simone, Suni, Shi BB-Simone, Suni, Shi FX- Simone, Shi, Jade(with upgrades) or Skye Alt- Jordan and Kayla Reasons Simone-we all know it Shi- same thing kind of a shoe in Suni- The US needs a solids bars athlete and she can outscore alot of the girls at an international comp Skye- If she she is consistent at trials the spot is hers Jade- They need that last person for vault and floor, she just needs more artistry in her floor. The judges will eat Kayla alive at and international comp for her bent knees. Jordan is good all around but it honestly depends if Skye has a good meet at trials.
@@Astrophysicistinthemaking You keep making this 'we don't need a 3rd vault' argument but the FACT of the matter is the US did not NEED Gabby's inclusion to win team medal in Rio but they carried her because she could have BOOSTED their chances to win and provide along with Madison another potential medal on bars. Jade does not need to be usable on ANY other apparatus other than vault and floor and despite what scores the judges are dishing out, I can promise NO DTY, not in the US and not internationally will outscore Jade's Cheng. As for floor, she is the ONLY OTHER gymnast in the US aside from Simone who can carry a 6.3+ on it and while domestic judges had everybody and their neighbor outscoring Jade on floor in the US in 2021, that did not translate internationally did it? NOOOOO!! Instead Jade was the ONLY ONE who qualified for floor along with Simone in Tokyo and won it all. Jade is not particularly artistic but I have seen some improvement since attending college and I refuse to believe if she brings all her upgrades that ANY OTHER FLOOR ROUTINE in the US can outscore hers aside from Simone's. Jade's inclusion will provide the US the opportunity to have TWO POTENTIAL medalists on all FOUR apparatuses and as such come away with the most medals Btw, you carry alternates in case someone gets injured so either Jordan or Kayla would do fine.
Right now I see Simone on all 4 events, shilese can be on any event, suni on bars/beam, and skye on vault and possibly beam. That leaves a needed floor worker which I think jade if she upgrades will get it. I originally thought kaliya Lincoln could get it but with pulling out of championships she lost the chance to prove that. It could also go to Jordan if suni doesn’t upgrade bars since Jordan could do bars and floor. I think jade is out of the running if skye continues to hit her cheng unless jade starts scoring 14.2+ on floor.
@@quedotelancine1685yes, she scored in 2022 worlds lol, i think maybe 3 times? qual, all around and team finals, in the event finals she scored 13.766 ( that was 13.866 at first) and she had -0.3 off on her double back. she can score easily 14.0 with a +6.0 routine if she hits like in tokyo, with a 6.4/6.5 she can score 14.5, that’s a huge difference the truth is: if jade was on the team last year she would have won probably bronze on floor and maybe something on vault last year. josc didn’t do nothing. i still don’t know how specialists choose her over jade it was obvious
@@quedotelancine1685she does pretty regularly internationally. She is ALWAYS scored lower domestically for whatever reason, while everyone else is scored higher. It makes no sense!
Simone, Shilese, Suni are who I have. I think they might put Jade as a "specialist" for a high floor and vault score. Other than that, I can't tell who will be the 5th spot. They need someone who won't have the hardest routine but will be clean and hit. It could be any combo of Jordan, Leanne, or even Skye who has been looking great over the season. I can't wait for Olympic trials!
For me it is Simone, Suni, Jade and TWO OTHERS preferably Shilese and Skye. Shilese really is a lock though as long as her shoulder is not really injured but sore and if Skye finished in the top 3 at Trials she would have EARNED her spot.
Gabby Thomas should be proud! Since she won the Olympic AOR title, young black women have flourished in the system. Dominque Dawes showed the way, and GT ran with it! Simone Billes has blown the cieling of the building forever!
Simone, Skye, Sunisa, Shilese - 5th person = If Jade successfully performs her upgrades on vault and floor then she will be a lock! If not, then Jordan will be in. Darkhorse is Tianna and Kaliya
I think we need Jade Carie. She is 99% consist and you know you’ll get a hit routine on every event. 99% of the time. I think it would be a big mistake to leave her out. As a side note, I’m heart broken for Trinity Thomas. I was really rooting for her. I thought she deserved an Olympic dream. If only she would have had more prep and training time for the Olympic year.
Haven't seen how Kaliya's been scoring recently but she really could have a shot. Think about highest scoring potential/medal potential... Vault: Shi, Simone, Skye have us covered and the four in the running for my last spot all have at least solid DTY. Bars: Suni, Shi, Simone (Skye can fill in), Beam: Suni, Simone, Shi/Skye, Floor: Simone, Shi, and neither Skye nor Suni score high enough to be used on a three up three count... this is truly the only place where we need someone and thats where Kaliya could come and sneak onto the team.
Only Jade has an Cheng and Amanar and as such can REALISTICALLY expect to qualify to AND medal in the EF aside from Simone. Despite what the domestic judges have been dishing out, NO DTY will outscore Jade's Cheng or Amanar internationally.
defo suni jade is only top 3 in vault i think if they all stay consistent simone suni shilese jordan skye i think kayla would be an alternate ik she did good at the winter classics but not really anyone was there simone wasnt there jordan shilese suni so i dont really take that into consideration
No, that is what they had at the last Olympics, this time it needs to be a team that consist of Simone, Suni, Jade and and ANY TWO OTHERS preferably Shilese and Skye.
Simone, Skye, Shilese, Jordan. 5th is tied between Wong, Jade, Suni @ Kayla. Right now I thk Kayla is looking the best, but I really like all of them. I hope Jade can upgrade her beam, it seems kinda boring to me compared to the others.
Sky falls ALL the time in competition and worlds. She didn't recently but is that enough? And will she hit at trials? That will be the difference between her, Jade, or Jordan. Also if anyone of them or others gets injured can change things. IE: Shileese is currently rehabing and injury and Suni is also vulnerable. Really ANY gymnast is as it is a difficult sport. I would choose for MY team: Simone, Shilese, Suni, Jade, and Hezley. I'd make Kayla, Leanne, and Sky alternates. I'm over Jordan but that's just me
Fair enough but Skye is on my team if she continues to hit that Cheng. I think most people do not understand how much CONFIDENCE plays a role in the sport of gymnastics. From the time Skye landed that Cheng, her whole aura seems to have changed and I think it is because landing that vault gave her much needed confidence. I mean whether it was really worth it or not, it scored more than Simone's Cheng. THAT must have done her a WORLD of good. For me, the US needs to get back to its strength on vault and floor, particularly vault. If it is no longer the United States of Amanar, then every opportunity must be given for it to become the United States of Cheng.
@@gymnasticfan9148 Cool! I'm just looking at the Washington Post calculator. It says that Jordan's highest score is a 14.1 and Kaliya's is a 14.233. I'm not sure where they get their numbers from, if they are 100% accurate, or even if a number could have come from a previous year . . . Thanks for sharing your great content!
@@maddiegoldfeld6819 Yes, but she petitioned to trials. Hopefully her injury isn't too severe. But she is also so young and could keep going if she wanted to!
The US Olympic Team: Simone, Sky, Sunisa, Shi, (Jade,Jordan or Kayla let’s see who scores the highest in the Olympic Trials on vault and floor) vault Simone, Skye, (whoever can score a 15) Bars Simone or Skye, Sunisa, Shi Beam Simone,Shi, Sunisa Floor Simone, Shi, ?(whoever can score a high 14)
NO ONE in the US outside of Simone can HIGH 14s on floor but Jade is the only one who I expect will be able to score mid 14s. Floor is the lowest scoring apparatus this quad and as such only Simone, Jessica and Rebeca were able to score 14's on it at World's last year.
i really prefer jordan to kayla, but its hard to say which one would make the team. i dont really think jade will score well internationally anymore since the code is so different this quad, so i dont see her making the 5 person team at all. Apart from the obvious AA choices, it makes sense to bring skye for beam medal potential, and jordan because she can outscore kayla on floor and vault tbh if she ended up upgrading. and she's got a solid bars routine too
Who are these gymnasts that can score higher than jade on her main events other than Simone and Skye (vault) and Simone (floor)? It appears that you people have not learnt your lesson from 2021 or from last year's World Championships. Jade's domestic scoring for her vaults (Cheng and Amanar) as well as her 6.3+ floor is NOT indicative of what her international scoring would garner. The best DTYs at Worlds last year (Rebeca and MDJDS) got scores of 14.5 and 14.4 respectively and NO DTY performed so far at the US domestic meets has come CLOSE to the quality of those two so trust me when I say that NO US DTY will outscore Jade's Cheng or Amanar internationally. As for floor, ONLY Simone, Rebeca and Jessica scored in the 14's at Worlds last year and that is in part due to them being only among FOUR who had a 6.2+ difficulty on that apparatus. The only other person to have similar difficulty was Sabrina Voinea of Romania. She however had poor choreography, artistry and tumbling form but STILL managed to get 13.7+ in the event final which placed her 4th and I will contend, Jade could NEVER be that bad.
@@Jonnypear486 But we are under the same code and if we cannot speak for how well she will score internationally AFTER 2022 then we can only go with others have scored SINCE with a similar floor. Last year at WORLDs only Simone, Rebeca and Jessica scored 14+ on floor and that was in part to the fact that they all had 6.2+ difficulty. Sabrina Voinea who had probably the highest dv after Simone but had the worst choreography, tumbling form and general artistry and STILL scored 13.7 in the event final. I contend that Jade is WAY better. If nothing, her tumbling is second ONLY TO SIMONE.
@@Jonnypear486 Ok but they did that to her in 2021 as well before Tokyo and she proved that she could score better internationally. Jade has only improved marginally for me artistically and yes this Quad's COP is even more harsh on that but I still think that Jade will score higher than anyone else from the US aside from Simone if she were to compete a 6.3+ floor. In addition, She alone aside from Simone has a Cheng and an Amanar. Including her in the team will give the US the best opportunity to win the most medals ever as they will REALISTICALLY be able to have two medal worthy routines on every apparatus.
I want to say Simone(AA), Shilese(AA), and Suni(UB, BB)are locks barring tragedy. If Skye(V,BB) preforms as she did at Championships she is 4th, but she has a tendency to fall on beam at international meets. Jordan(V,F) is more consistent and I think will peak at the right time, plus she scores well internationally. Jade(V, F) presentation and execution scores will not help the team although she has the difficulty. I don't think Kayla will make it, she wont be on UB, she wont be on BB, her floor routine internationally will get picked apart, and everybody and their mom has a DTY.
I think Simone Biles already has her replacement. And it is even possible that Shilese Jones will do better than Simone during the Paris Olympics 2024. Shilese Jones is sparkling in almost everything. We don't talk too much about her because of Simone Biles' performances and track record. But once Simone withdraws from the circuit, Shilese will cause a lot of ink to flow...
Even with the upgrades, in a normal day Shilese will only outscore Biles on Bars, on Vault she will be almost 2 points behind and their Floor are not even close
Simone can NEVER be REPLACED because there is NO ONE not in the US and not in the WORLD like her. Simone is the MOST DOMINANT FEMALE ATHLETE in the WORLD if not the most dominant athlete period.
I wouldn't. Although she is clean and has good landings, she is also unstable. USA is aiming for something similar to Rio 2016, so they should their very best (Biles, Shilese, Skye, Suni and Carey)

I feel like when Jade doesn’t make the team it’s going to be the horrible slander against Skye not being “deserving” because Jade fans are vicious and feel that she deserve a spot no matter what.
@quedotelancine1685 sane people will not slander another gymnast if Jade doesn’t make the team. Jade fans are tired of her constantly being underscored domestically but yet she somehow gets medals when she competes internationally? Jade can realistically medal on vault and floor so it would be silly to leave her off the team. She is continuing to upgrade since Core but yet she seems to get no credit for it. Makes me wonder if people are biased against her because of her father or something else, not sure. Fact is Skye is not a reliable gymnast and has a tendency to crack under pressure. She performed well to the run up for world championships and she choked during competition. I’m not keen to see it happen again. Bent knee Dicello is also overscored and scores lower internationally. She was world champion a couple of years ago when the heavy weights such as Rebeca did not compete. That will not be the case in Paris. Neither Kayla or Jordan will bring home an individual medal. Joscelyn Roberson was overscored domestically and did not get those high scores during world championships. Makes no sense why people play favorites and are delusional about certain members of the US team. Jade has improved her artistry and has Olympic and NCAA hardware to back up her talents
@@nicoles9077 I don’t know if it is personal, of their was drama about her father we would know, none of that type of stuffs seems to remain a secret lol. But I do feel that the domestic judges are not a fan of her gymnastics, based on the fact that she struggles with conveying artistry on floor. I do think that she has been more consistent than Skye, but I do feel if Skye scores top 3 again, which I highly doubt as Shilese will hopefully return and Suni will be doing a full out bar routine, I do feel she should be given a chance to attend the Olympics, I think the battle is between Jade, Kayla, and Jordan. If Jordan had her Cheng I don’t think she would have a chance truthfully, because Jordan can score on vault and floor. So we shall see.
For me…Simone, Shi, Suni, Skye, Kayla/Jordan. As much as I love Jade, Kayla and Jordan are cleaner on execution. If it was up to me, I’d pick Kayla. I feel like Kayla’s hard work is being noticed…seems like USAG loves her and also the sponsors!
Kayla and Jordan have more errors than Jade. Especially Kayla. Jordan bit it at the Olympics itself and only became more of a rock in college but ate it on the floor at Nationals this month. Kayla is never all together it seems. Jade is not my fav tbh but I'd give it to her over the other 2 and make them alternates. Jordan def being in front of Kayla.
Probably 3 returning Olympians and 2 first time Olympians. With the exception of Blies I would have liked to see new girls get a shot but it is what it is.
I do think J. Childs will have to work her hardest ever come the finals to go to Paris, there is so much competition that could bump her out of the 5th spot, easily!! We will see!! 🎀♥️🤍💙🇺🇸♥️🤍💙🇺🇸♥️🤍💙🇺🇸🎀
Simone is all power and stunts!!! I'm not impressed at all! SHE CANT EVER STICK A LANDING, EVER! RETIRE SO THE BEAUTY OF GYMNASTICS RETURNS, WITHOUT THE MONKEY MOVES.
@@Glycam Some people will argue not. I will choose Skye over Jordan though mainly for her Cheng. Skye also has a decent bars routine that can sub in for anyone as she did in last year's Worlds.
To all of you who are irrationally obsessed with Jade. She will most likely be an alternate. Yes, she's better, but her gymnastics is still stiff and clunky. Kayla, Wong, Sky, and even the new Rivera are better gymnasts. If we are talking about the highest scoring potential, Jade is only helpful on vault. Her floor routine will be hammered internationally, as it was in 2022. She seems like a sweet girl, but I wonder what's up with the irrational fangirling. I can think of only one reason; because it's not her gymnastics or scoring potential. Please tell me I'm wrong and this isn't some implicit bias. If Sky hits at Olympic Trials, it's a wrap, she is on that team. If Jade hits, they would only want her for vault and maybe floor. Floor is questionable due to her artistry and the rule change since her victory in 2021. Unfortunately for her stans, one event may not be enough to get her on the team. Maybe an alternate though.
@@gymnasticfan9148 thats an important pt who will score favourably internationnally? Simone Suni Jordan and Jade YES✅️

It really all comes down to consistency at trials and who’s gonna score the highest on floor. This’ll be interesting! IMO, Jordan/Kayla/Jade all need to have a competition like Skinner did at trials in 2021. Hit 8/8.
Simone, Skye, Suni, Shilese, Jordan. Final answer lol
I LIKE jo because she's just so cheerful of everyone! A great teammate!
@@tv-21 Yes a very underrated quality. However as much as I like that about her I would go with Jade instead and have both Jordan and Kayla as travelling alternates.

Come on now, that's what I've been saying, JADES consistency will get her through!
Jade Carey should be 2nd to Simone in terms of difficult tumbling on floor but is getting hammered by the artistry deductions which is silly.
In this new COP, artistry is huge
@@Coco_Demi_Gymnastics But artistry is only judged on floor and beam though not anywhere else. In addition to that fact, it is not the most important component either to one's routine.
@@aliciamcdonald7105 true, her form needs a lot of improvement as well. Between her and Jordan, Jordan definitely has a better form and better artistry.. also has been scoring higher.
Jade needs to bring back some more difficulty or the amanar back, her tumbling is difficult but her d score is still kinda low, i think she needs something close to her tokyo routine to get in the 14s
All beautiful athletes who have worked so hard to get to where they are today! Rooting for all of them!!🎉
Based on results so far the team is probably Biles, Jones (assuming her shoulder injury is nothing serious and just being cautious), Lee (would like to see her upgrade a bit on bars even if not her full possible difficulty), Blakely (but she needs to do the same thing BOTH nights of trials because I am still sus about her hitting on the biggest stage because at worlds she kept falling), and I think Jordan.
Very good assessment.
Again, those who've shown international and Olympic consistencies will, all things being equal, given a tiny benefit of the doubt ("We have seen her BEFORE, in the Olympics"...)
At everyone's best, how many women gymnasts beat Biles on the beam or the bars?
Shilese jones
Skye Blakely
Kayla dicello

But I also love jade! I think it really comes down to who is most consistent on both days of trials! I’m so excited to see who makes the team!
Shelise is so clean!
I want Kayla to make the team so bad. I know there’s a slim chance but I’m rooting for her
simone biles (AA)
skye blakely (AA)
shilese jones (AA)

for me those 4 are kind of locks if healthy and consistent
so we have the last spot going to a VT, FX good worker
to be honest they have plenty of girls
jade
jordan
kayla
tiana
kaliya
leanne
my personal opinion based on last championships is tiana sumanasekera (best floor among them and solidy dty), however, jordan and jade can step forward since they do 2 vaults, but right now jade doesn't have much scoring potential on floor and can be beated by skye on vt which makes weaker her claim to the spot
right now i would take jordan chiles for the last spot, thinking that she can help on any event better than carey, has better ub than tiana, and scores relatively well on vt and fx
kayla dicello makes more sense being a trustable all arounder than a vt, fx worker (to be honest her fx was weirdly scored on championships to me, hope im wrong), said that she can be the alternate
to finish, trials is going to be crucial to justify the last spot girl, since jade can upgrade, jordan shows inconsistency, and a lot more can happen
Biles , Jones , Lee (AA)
Simone, Suni, Skye, Shilese, and Jade. Is my prediction
Not hating Skye at all but seeing her falling from beam is getting tiresome as well.
Additionally Jade will not be winning floor again. They changed the artistry rules, so something like that never happens again. 😁
i also hate this notion that skye "always chokes internationally". people need to get over the falls at 2022 worlds. it was two years ago, she was 17 then and is 19 now. and as for 2023 quals it was just one bad beam routine that she didn't get a chance to redeem herself for. also the fall she had last year was caused by her going for a connection when she was a little off, it's not like she split the beam or anything. obviously that fall rattled her a little for the dismount. i thought her hitting a stellar bar routine in team final said a lot about her mental fortitude, as I'm sure she was crushed after qualifications. if we want skye to reach her full potential we need to stop constantly bringing up past mistakes anytime she does literally anything.
The only reason Sky is getting so much hate is because they want Jade so badly. In my Kanye voice: "Shes not that good" 🤷🏾. Not that good to be getting so much love at the expense of gymnasts who consistently beat her in competition.
@@Astrophysicistinthemaking jordan actually fell 4 times at the olympics 😬 2x on beam and once bars in quals, as well as TF floor

@@thesugundiasmith Well put again.
Shilese is my favorite to watch.
My Prediction:
Simone, Shilese, Suni, Skye, and Jade.
VT- Simone, Jade(scores well internationally), Skye or Shi
UB-Simone, Suni, Shi
BB-Simone, Suni, Shi
FX- Simone, Shi, Jade(with upgrades) or Skye

Simone-we all know it
Shi- same thing kind of a shoe in
Suni- The US needs a solids bars athlete and she can outscore alot of the girls at an international comp
Skye- If she she is consistent at trials the spot is hers
Jade- They need that last person for vault and floor, she just needs more artistry in her floor.
The judges will eat Kayla alive at and international comp for her bent knees.
Jordan is good all around but it honestly depends if Skye has a good meet at trials.
I love this and love Jordan, however, I wouldn’t be upset if jade went instead. I would love to see a United States of Cheng moment 🤩
YES!
Contrary to popular belief, I too believe JADE WILL PULL THROUGH WITH THAT 5TH SPOT.
As for floor, she is the ONLY OTHER gymnast in the US aside from Simone who can carry a 6.3+ on it and while
domestic judges had everybody and their neighbor outscoring Jade on floor in the US in 2021, that did not translate internationally did it?
Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles. Shellise Jones and Jade Carrey
Só eu que achei essas notas muito altas para movimento com uma dificuldade não tão alta ,tirando a biles é claro !
Suni will be a lock because of her beam, she just needs to upgrade her bars to take the 3rd AA spot
Has Jade scored a 14 ever sense Tokyo? I don’t see that happening, no matter the upgrades, but we shall see.
@@quedotelancine1685yes, she scored in 2022 worlds lol, i think maybe 3 times? qual, all around and team finals, in the event finals she scored 13.766 ( that was 13.866 at first) and she had -0.3 off on her double back. she can score easily 14.0 with a +6.0 routine if she hits like in tokyo, with a 6.4/6.5 she can score 14.5, that’s a huge difference
the truth is: if jade was on the team last year she would have won probably bronze on floor and maybe something on vault last year. josc didn’t do nothing. i still don’t know how specialists choose her over jade it was obvious
@@quedotelancine1685she does pretty regularly internationally. She is ALWAYS scored lower domestically for whatever reason, while everyone else is scored higher. It makes no sense!
@@gymnasticfan9148What happened to Suni on bars? Wasn't that her specialty at the last Olympics?
Omg Shilese on bars is everything to me and Simone on floor and beam I love
Gabby Thomas should be proud! Since she won the Olympic AOR title, young black women have flourished in the system. Dominque Dawes showed the way, and GT ran with it! Simone Billes has blown the cieling of the building forever!
Douglas*😂😂😂...love Gabby Thomas though
Simone, Skye, Sunisa, Shilese - 5th person = If Jade successfully performs her upgrades on vault and floor then she will be a lock! If not, then Jordan will be in. Darkhorse is Tianna and Kaliya
Simone, Shilese, Skye, Suni, Jade
ABSOLUTELY! A team to rival the strongest team ever Rio 2016.
for me, leanne isn't even an alternate
Totally agree.
Simone. Jordan. Shilese. Skye. Suni or Jade.
defo suni jade is only top 3 in vault i think if they all stay consistent simone suni shilese jordan skye i think kayla would be an alternate ik she did good at the winter classics but not really anyone was there simone wasnt there jordan shilese suni so i dont really take that into consideration
Simone and the rest of the team.
No, that is what they had at the last Olympics, this time it needs to be a team that consist of Simone, Suni, Jade and and ANY TWO OTHERS preferably Shilese and Skye.
Simone, Skye, Shilese, Jordan & the last spot would be between Jade or Suni or Kayla
Simone, Jones, Suni Lee, Jade , Skye are my predictions
The PERFECT TEAM.
Simone, Shilese, Skype, Sunisa; now may be kayla/ jordan/tina/leanne/jade
Simone, Skye, Shilese, Jordan. 5th is tied between Wong, Jade, Suni @ Kayla. Right now I thk Kayla is looking the best, but I really like all of them. I hope Jade can upgrade her beam, it seems kinda boring to me compared to the others.
When will we know
Sky falls ALL the time in competition and worlds.
Just as a fun side note: If they put Henzley in place of Suni, we'd have an all African American team. That would be cool to see.
So many injured 😢, Zoe Miller could make the team, Konnor.
BEST SPECIALISTS AT THE OLYMPICS UNEVEN BARS PLEASE I BEG BEG BEG BEG BEG OF YOU PLEASE I BEG
What about Kaliya Lincoln?? I think she actually comprises the highest scoring team at this point. Hopefully she is healthy soon!
Jordan scored higher than her on Floor this year, but she still has a chance if can hit 14+ on Floor at Trials
@@evan-dunn This 14.233 was from Pan Ams last year
Didn’t Kaliya get injured at nationals?
@@maddiegoldfeld6819 Yes, but she petitioned to trials. Hopefully her injury isn't too severe. But she is also so young and could keep going if she wanted to!
Not Skye, unfortunately. She’s out with an ankle injury.
The US Olympic Team: Simone, Sky, Sunisa, Shi, (Jade,Jordan or Kayla let’s see who scores the highest in the Olympic Trials on vault and floor)
vault
Simone, Skye, (whoever can score a 15)
Bars
Simone or Skye, Sunisa, Shi
Beam
Simone,Shi, Sunisa
Floor
Simone, Shi, ?(whoever can score a high 14)
NO ONE in the US outside of Simone can HIGH 14s on floor but Jade is the only one who I expect will be able to score mid 14s. Floor is the lowest scoring apparatus this quad and as such only Simone, Jessica and Rebeca were able to score 14's on it at World's last year.
Simone,sunni ,sky, jordan final
i really prefer jordan to kayla, but its hard to say which one would make the team. i dont really think jade will score well internationally anymore since the code is so different this quad, so i dont see her making the 5 person team at all. Apart from the obvious AA choices, it makes sense to bring skye for beam medal potential, and jordan because she can outscore kayla on floor and vault tbh if she ended up upgrading. and she's got a solid bars routine too
Jade scored 14.100 on Floor and 14.800 on Vault at Worlds this quad. I’m pretty sure she will score well internationally
@@gymnasticfan9148 not with that new floor choreo
Tbh there are gymnast that can score higher then jade on her main events so I don’t think they need her
Who are these gymnasts that can score higher than jade on her main events other than Simone and Skye (vault) and Simone (floor)?
@@aliciamcdonald7105 y’all keep saying jade gets scored better internationally this is not 2022 anymore
@@aliciamcdonald7105 I feel like they are scoring her low in the US to push her in terms of better artistry and clean form
Simone, Suni, Shi, Skye, and Jade. Jordan alt.
PEFECT.
Nada contra a Jordan ! Amo ela !
You’re slandering jade fans. I assume you’re speaking of last year when josc made worlds over jade??
@@rbb.828 yes but if anyone criticizes her gymnastics people are vitriolic.
In my opinion, these will be the Fab 5 heading to Paris:

2. Shilese Jones
3. Skye Blakely
4. Jordan Chiles
5. Kayla DiCello
Suni over Kayla
