I also did these in one day and enjoyed the experience… I went to sit in the Phoenix Garden inbetween shows, though, instead of roaming the streets! Closing Time was my fav of the three, I think - the vibe was very different but it felt more complete, and definitely benefited from being a two-hander.
Brings back memories when I spent the the day at the National Theatre watching the David Hare trilogy Racing Demon ,Murmuring Judges and The Absence of War
Back in the 1960s, there was a staging of The War of the Roses plays, that is Henry VI parts one, two, and three and Richard III. But I don't know how many you could see on any one day. Come to think of it, they could have thrown Richard II, Henry IV part 1 and 2, and Henry V in there, too. They were written all at the same time, but they were interconnected with the War of the Roses plays.
Book wise, I recommend Calder bookshop and theatre just opposite the Young Vic, good selection of new and used plays if you’re ever on that side of the river. Worth a visit.
Could you have not asked behind the bar to fill your water bottle? Would've saved them a glass. Loved this trilogy which I saw a week apart, and had the same seat, A29. My favourite was Michael, I felt Delroy veered too much towards stand-up comedy at times. Yes, there is integration with the audience and this may vary from show to show, but it was a bit awkward having the spotlight on you some of the time, just didn't know where to look!
I don't know about the plays, but, those characters depicted on the poster definitely look like people who actively want to kill something. Or, possibly, someone.
When I visited Piccadilly Circus, nobody tried to sell me cocaine. However, a couple of very nice young ladies tried to sell me sex. I miss the good old days.
That odd moment where you spot yourself in the audience in a MickeyJo vid!
But did you spot him?
Spending an entire day at one theatre, count me in!

Saw the first play at the national with Rafe Spall too, incredible show, extremely powerful! Would love to see this revival

Excellent channel, and a thoroughly interesting video. Subscribed.

I see your Death of England trilogy and I raise you all three parts of The Coast of Utopia in a single day. Just under 9 hours of run time
Happy Early Birthday 🎉🎉🎉!

Maybe you'll cover this in your reviews, but acting on two crossing skinny runways seems challenging. Thoughts?
@@mts7130 they're considerably wider than they look!
Thanks. Interesting day. Are each of the Death of England shows one act?
@@yankee04 yes, that's right!
@@MickeyJoTheatre I suspected that was the case. It certainly makes 3 shows in one day easier. Thanks!
I love soho place. So much legroom for someone who’s 6’8! Really enjoyed watching these shows over the past few months
Was The Inheritance a financial success in London?

Hey Mickey! Do you have plans to see anything next week? I’m going on an 8-show trip next week LOL
Truly if I could choose one theatre to be spending a full day in it would very likely be @sohoplace so this seems lovely haha
