    As a New Yorker who almost takes Broadway for granted, I’m genuinely happy to see what a special experience you had on your very first night. Kristen Chenoweth only drops in in like 5 or ten random performances a week!😂

      Aeron! Do you guys have something like a PO Box? I work at a gluten-free bakery and we make dry cake mix, brownie mix, and flour blend, but we’re not based in NYC so I couldn’t invite you to stop by and try some!

      @callalily3994 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@drama_doctor I think it was a special thing that night -- I haven't seen anything saying specifically why, but I'm guessing that, with all the anti-drag and anti-LGBT laws being passed in the country, they wanted to make a statement by having a well-known Christian woman like Kristin Chenoweth there.

      @@drama_doctor Lots of shows will sometimes have talk-backs after the show (like maybe once every few months or so), where cast members or the writers will do a Q&A with the audience, but it's more rare for someone who's not in the show to be involved.

    As for St. Patrick's Day -- the big event is the annual parade, which was over by the time you got to Manhattan.
    Thanks for sharing your trip with us. You were lucky to see Jinkx, she was only there for a short run.
    I saw Kristen way back when in "Charlie Brown", for which she got a Tony. Hoping to see "Back to the Future" this year (featuring the other Tony winner from that "Charlie Brown" production).
    It's adorable that you compare queuing for Mickey Mouse to queuing for Customs.

    This was well worth the wait! I nearly cried when you were experiencing your first Broadway show! I was grinning ear to ear! What a plus to have an appearance of Kristin!! I still have my drink cup from Come From Away! Speaking of CFA, I got a little sad seeing Life Of Pi where CFA was. But I also really want to see that show. I love the story and want to see Richard Parker in person!😸I can hardly wait to see Part 2!🤩

    You two are so cute together, and your excitement is infectious and also reminiscent! My first trip to NY (when I was in college, or as you say, at university), our small group of friends flew from LA, not quite as far as from London and thankfully no customs. Just as you are doing, we spent the week seeing Broadway shows; your enthusiasm reminds me of mine way back in 1975, when I saw my first Broadway show. It was (wait for it): Chicago. Yep, the original with Gwen Verdon, Chita Rivera, and Jerry Orbach. The next night we saw A Chorus Line, the original cast which had just moved uptown to The Shubert Theatre for what would be a 15 year run. That trip we also saw the first preview of Pacific Overtures (on New Year's Day, 1976!), and a British sex farce called Habeus Corpus, written by a nobody named Alan Bennett and starring famous Brits of the day Jean Marsh, Donald Sinden, and Rachel Roberts, and an American unknown named Richard Gere. Who knows what future superstar you might be seeing during your own Broadway tour? Thanks for reminding me of those first times on Broadway; you'll never forget them.

    I will say this about you saying you’d get stared at for performing Santa Fe on the train: you absolutely would not…..people would either avert their eyes, record you, or join in-that type of complete madness is par for the course at least every couple of rides you take 😂

    I was there around the same time (well, I was at Hamilton while you were at Chicago and we met after you saw Parade and I saw Shucked) and yeah, I did notice there was a weird lack of St. Patrick's-ness vibe in town...
    BTW I was staying at the Edison, another great hotel for Broadway crowds

    So glad you got to visit NYC! Loving the vlogs! I haven't been able to travel in a few years, so seeing the details of your plane trip made me happy!
