From what I've seen of this show it's great if you have only a vague awareness of the book (or simply don't care that much about certain themes/elements) and can get swept up in the romance and tragedy as presented. So it might do really well in London where people are presumably less obsessed with Gatsby and the Meaning Of America.
Oooh, is this what Jeremy Jordan was teasing at when he said there was a reason for why they set a date for his last performance in the Broadway production? 👀
It'd be cool to see some of the cast transfer over. Though Sam Pauly has said many times on her backstage lives that she's contracted for a year so far (which I assume takes her into March).
Thanks. I saw that Broadway Gatsby went down quite a bit in the latest grosses. You have to feel bad for Gatsby the Myth. Always chasing the other production.
Absolutely buzzing. I am flying to New York in Feb to specifically see it. Was gutted Jeremy was leaving but now (I THINK) we may be seeing him in London!!!
would love to see Boston one and interactive one in the summer at a hotel. i'm a huge fan of the great gatsby one of the books we read in high school. had fun watching the movie with Leonardo and Tobey. let's see what happens when Jeremy Jordan leaves. Ensemble member Katie Webber who was in Rock of Ages with Jeremy Jordan will be in Smash the Musical.
I don‘t know if someone already mentioned this, but what about Ramin Karimloo? I guess he is very well known for the British audience and he surely has the vocal range to compeet with Jeremy Jordan.
@@tillchakraborty7482in the movie Gloria Swanson was in her early 50s, I believe. And Patti and Glenn were in their late 40s/early 50s when they played Norma. Nicole is 46 so she is in the right age group.
I think it’s possible Jeremy Jordan will transfer, but I’ve also heard fan speculation that he was going to star in the Greatest Showman musical that is in development
Is Jeremy Jordan can't come over? What about Ramin Karimloo or Jon Robyns if they need to be a high tenor? I know that Ramin Karimloo is more of a baritenor, but his vocal range is brilliant
I think jon Robyn’s is doing a new west end show in 2025 so unfortunately he can’t I would have loved to see him don’t take my word for that I actually don’t know tho
I. Felt like the villain was the American capitalist system as well as how American society is stratified according to wealth. It was a wonderful show…..complex and tragically moving
All I know about the show is that clip of the early rehearsals where Gatsby (JJ) took off a mask and sung a misjudged lyric about the Spanish flu (a Covid reference) Hopefully that got cut early on…
It did don’t worry! I saw that and i was like “come on 🤦♀️” but that was when the show was in its previews, it was being ‘edited’. The final form of the show is wonderful without any dumb references like that. I recommend :)
At the risk of been taken the wrong way are you wearing a black dress? Because it kind of looks like that or have you gone for the blazer with no shirt underneath? Hope you’re having a good time in New York considering when you’re there.
@@serarichu eventually, i’m sure it will but it’s currently being reworked and the fact that the production that’s already on broadway is transferring to london first means we probably won’t see it for quite a while now.
UPDATE: as anticipated, my dates were a little skewed - the production is scheduled to run between April 11th and September 7th, 2025.
Can't wait for the London party, olde sports 😏🇬🇧🥂
the flash moves fast but the great gatsby socials move faster

Unlikely, his band was also teasing new music for next year
To quote some one popular "you're green" 💚

Great news! Can't wait for casting news :)

Really happy UK theatre goers can get an opportunity to see this production! Excited to hear the casting
I saw it in New York back in July and LOVED it!!! Can't wait to see it much closer to home!
So…hopefully Jeremy will be coming to London
The Coliseum has the largest capacity of any London theatre (over 2300 seats) and a very large stage, so I hope the producers know what they're doing.
So sorry you are here at this time. I'm sick with disgust at my country.
A bizarre and harrowing time to be here, my heart breaks for all of you who can't fly away as easily as I can later this month 💔
@MickeyJoTheatre Thank you. Today when those ladies sing KEEP MARCHING they will be screaming it for us.
PLEASE - EVA HAS TO BE IN THIS! 😭 I ONLY WANT TO SEE EVA AS DAISY!
Ahhh this is mega news!!! Very very exciting!!
I saw you and Aaron in line for Sunset Blvd on Broadway , this past Wed. matinee. LUVED Nichole’s tour de force performance!!!!
Really enjoyed this on Broadway and will definitely be going to see it again once it opens in London. Fingers crossed for Jeremy...
I am so excited, I loved the show so much on my trip to new york earlier this year!
The green light, STAHP 😂

I really care way more about seeing the Florence musical version - her music is so lush that I can see it being really beautiful and interesting
I’m still so upset that it wasn’t nominated for more Tony’s! It should have been nominated for best musical!
🎉🎉🎉exciting
Sounds good.

Do you think Aaron Tveit could/would do the limited UK run?

He'll be busy on Broadway at that time and, if I may, reads a little old for Jay Gatsby.
Well if he‘s busy is one thing, but the age? Wasn‘t Nicole Sherzinger not a little young for „Norma“ as well….

Shrek, Promises Promsies & rodgers hammerstein cinderella filled the theatre.
You changed ur outro 😮
I feel like the great gatsby is the villain in gatsby: an American myth’s story

There's a posting for an unannounced Rebecca Fracknell production coming in early 2025. They lost this one.
That is a different show 👀
@@MickeyJoTheatreIntrigued because I have heard different.

I think Rob Houchen would be ideal for Gatsby.
He would, but he will be doing brilliant work in Titanique still I expect!
Elena Ricardo magnificent standy for Daisy and Judy

Blazer it was! Wasn't expecting the news, hadn't packed anything that fit the vibe 😅
Don’t be so dismissive of the Papermill, put some respect on its name
I love Paper Mill!
i’ll be honest, i’d rather gatsby: an american myth was coming over instead.
GIRL SAME
isn’t it? I thought it was gonna come over similar to hadestown when it was developing

Jeremy Jordan wouldn’t transfer. He has refused before, he wants to stay close to his familt
