    You are one of the few knitters who work the decrease rounds at the very edge of the heel, instead of starting/ending one stitch in. This decreases the width of the finished heel band and makes for a nicer looking heel. Thank you!

    ok. it explains it's easier to knit afterthought heel with waste yarn technique LoL but still, it's very nice to know the different method

    Thank you! I’ve struggled watching other Kitchener stitches and just given up! So helpful.

    Just cut the thread for my first afterthought heel. Nervous but excited. If this works for me, I will be doing this for all future socks. Thanks for the tutorial!

    I'm not giving up! I'm going back to trying to do the kitchner stitch...wish me luck LOL!! Thank you for explaining it clearly and for a great quality recording. You have a new follower.

    I have been wanting to knit socks forever, but have been too intimidated. With the warm weather sock knitting would be perfect. So now after watching this video, I’m more excited to try! You make it look so easy. Thank you so much for this! As soon as I’m done with one of my projects I’m going to try 😁🤞

    Natalie! I haven’t tried an afterthought heel yet but I watched this anyway, lol. I loved loved loved your thorough explanation of the Kitchener Stitch! Thank you so much for explaining it so well! You are awesome.

    You really made it look easy so I hope to try this! I thought there was no hope for a heel after I forgot this step, but you've inspired me!! Thank you!

    Very well explained your heel. But still a question? After you've put the cable needle down, continue in a circle, or gather the first and the last of each needle. You just don't show that. And I just don't understand that part. Thank you in advance. Greetings Nell.

    🌹Super cool - thank you. Now I can make socks for all my friends, after UNSUCCESSFULLY 🤬 trying an 'advanced' knitter heel - confusing , convoluted, complicated!
    And by the way: you have gorgeous hands - Handmodeling could be an option ( part time/ hobby) for you....

    Is there a benefit to no waste yarn for the heel placement?

  • @carriewhite8628
    @carriewhite8628 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow, I learned more than I thought I would from this video. I am new to knitting socks and have only done the heel flap and gusset which is fine but is my least favorite part of the process so I've been wanting to learn some more methods for heels. This will definitely be my next heel experiment! Thank you so much for sharing.
    I also am thankful for you showing your method to weave in ends, as what I've been doing is fine but I'm always concerned that it won't hold up. If your socks are still doing so well with this method of weaving, I'm going to be doing it this way from now on because I know it'll work.
    Thanks Natalie!

    This is the best tutorial for the kitchener stitch I've seen. I just don't know if I would do the afterthought heel. Your instructions are good but I don't care for the looks of it as well as other types of heels.

    This is my favorite heel method. I pick up 2 stitches on each side to help close the gap. Then knit 4 regular rounds to start since I have a high arch. Great tutorial.
