This is a brilliant video. Super helpful and very eloquently explained. My only gripe is the background music!

Hello Adrian, thank you for the great video and explanations. Was your fault Code 0340 as for the Cam shaft position sensor? Thanks a lot Matthias

Hello Adrián, I have several cylinders failing in my car, I have changed the 2 valves in your video and I have not solved it, do you know where I can have the problem? new spark plugs, new coils, but some cylinder fails randomly, the engine compressions are good, thanks

Hi Adrian I have a quattroporte 2009 4.7L when i park and approximate 5 mins or more i go back and start engine has a crazy rattle noise on the top of engine (Drys Out) engine has a lot of power don't smoke no issues. If i turn on and after 2 mins or a minute in i turn back off and restart engine sounds perfect no noise It starts to dry out after 10 or 20 mins parked off you turn on and it rattles loud but goes away quick after engine Lubricates top end again NO Noise. What's can it be ?

Hi Lee, there is a common issue with the same symptoms you describe. The OEM cam caps are known to fail after some time. A lack of lubrication after the car has been stood a while causes a rattle for short time until lubricated again. They require a modification by means of machining. Problems have been seen to reoccur after cam cap mod. The first thing to do would be to remove the cam caps to see if they have been modded already. t’s worth getting a diagnosis. If you have the skills you could remove them yourself and find a machine shop or Indie that know and do this mod. Otherwise I would contact an Indie that will look at it and do it for you. Search up Maserati cam cap variator rattle mod and there is lots of content in the forums and couple of bits on TH-cam ref this. Good luck

Sorry. I'm afraid not. I'm an enthusiast and do this as a hobby. Thanks for asking though.

What’s the torque spec for the solenoids ?

Why you change them ? Were they making noise ?

I had an engine code that suggested there could be a problem with the oil control valve solenoid. When I removed the cam cover I found the broken wire which you see in the video. I swapped it out and decided to swop out the other side too whilst I had the covers off.
