- These are my husband's FAVORITE cookies! I have all the tips and tricks you need to make this recipe turn out perfectly. Get the full amounts and baking time below.
This recipe makes 32 cookies.
Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour see note
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
14 tablespoons unsalted butter room temperature
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
2 large eggs room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 cups old fashioned oats
1 cup raisins
Instructions
Preheat to oven to 350 degrees. Line rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
In a medium bowl whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt, until completely mixed.
In a large bowl, with a hand held mixer or using a stand mixer, beat together the butter brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. This will take between 3 and 6 minutes.
Add the eggs one at a time. Then add in the vanilla. Be sure to scrape down the edges of the bowl with a spatula before each addition.
Add in the flour mixture. With the mixer on it's lowest setting, beat the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until it just begins to combine. Then turn the mixture up and finish combinging it until it is just combined. Be careful not to continue mixing after the flour is combined in.
Mix in the oats and then the raisins.
Using a 1 1/2 tablespoon cookie scoop, scoop the cookies and roll them into balls. Place 2 1/2 inches apart on a baking sheet. Bake for 11 to 12 minutes or until the edges of the cookies begin to turn golden brown. For best results, rotate the pan half way through. Remove fro the oven, let cool on the baking sheet for two minutes, and then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
Enjoy right away or store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
These were amazing! I'd advise to avoid overcooking if you want chewy cookies. If the middle still looks a little wet after your 11 minutes, leave it. Once the cookie has cooled off it'll be good.
Glad you like them!
Thank you for sharing this recipe!! I made these as a last minute gift for coworkers for the holidays and they turned out great!! Will keep this recipe forever 🥰
I made these cookies and my husband LOVED THEM! Thanks for the recipe!

Thank you for this recipe! The whole family loved them! Reduced white sugar to 1/2 cup, had to flatten the dough a bit before baking, and extended baking time to 20min. And the results were amazing!
Yeah I thought of that too. Too much sugar. One cup total is enough.

EXCELLENT TIPS - YOUR A PRO @ BAKING
OLD-FASHIONED OATMEAL RAISIN COOKIES
👏♥️👏♥️👏♥️👏♥️👏♥️👏♥️👏
Regarding the flour, using the spoon works well with a measuring cup but, by weight is even better. 2 cups = 235g or 8.3oz. Invest in a decent scale (usually under $20) and have great results every time.
Wrote down your whole recipe. Looks good. Except for. What’s the oven temperature I should set too and how long to bake?
The full recipe and all the instructions are in the description of the video. It is 350 for 11 to 12 minutes.
Hi... May I know the grams of the butter thay you used for the cookie? Thank you so much.

Hi , 14 tablespoons unsalted butter is equivalent to Gram ? Thanks
Yes, that is a great question ❓❓❓
I have dark brown sugar, is there really a a difference from light brown sugar for this recipe? 🤔
Good
How do you measure solid butter in terms of tablespoons?
In the US, they label the butter wrappers with tablespoons, which makes it really easy. If you are overseas, you will need 196 grams.
Would be nice to have a printable recipe
You can find the printable recipe here: www.simplejoy.com/oatmeal-raisin-cookies/
hello, what kind of mixer is this? 🥰
What temperature and minutes do we need?
can you tell the butter quantity in grams ? or is it 2 sticks ?
198.5 grams
@@SimpleJoyByLisaLongley thank you
I don’t have a fancy mixer like that but I have one at the end of my arm.
What kind of mixer do you have?
Can you use quick oats instead?
You can! You will just get a different texture.
We have to use black raisins here right?
Is this chewy soft cookies or crispy cookies?
Could you make cookie bars using this recipe?
Hi, how much are 14 tablespoon of unsalter butter to Gram. Thanks.
I had the same question ❓ but no one answered
198.5gms or 7/8 cups. You can readily find this info on the Internet.
Can i get this in grams? I don't have US measuring cups... I live in Europe
Did I miss it, oven temp, how long to bake? Gu3ssing, 350 and 14 to 15 min. Sorry
It's in the description, but 350 for 11 to 12 minutes.
What is all-purpose flour ? I’m not in America.... I understand Plain flour or Self raising flour... please advise me
Why doesn't my cookie melt down flat from baking? They stay very thick, they don't melt and flatten like yours.
I searched the Internet for a picture of oatmeal cookies just like these looked.
When I made them they turned out NOTHING like the picture. Did you see how thick her raw dough was? Mine was much softer than hers and mine ended up cakey. I don't like cakey oatmeal cookies. I don't believe those cookies she showed at the end were from the recipe she made in front of the camera! Did you see her take them out of the oven? No, me neither. Too much flour turns a cookie cakey. That's the problem with this recipe. Wasted my time.
@@user-df3yf5ck1w false advertising? 🤭
How many pcs can this recipe makes?
We get 32 cookies out of this recipe.
Ga ik ook zelf proberen 🌞
What is the temperature supposed to be?
What was the oven temperature?.
The full recipe with the instructions is in the description of the video. 350 degrees for 11 to 12 minutes.
Can it be replaced with instant oat?
Yup! You will get a different texture but the recipe will still work.
temperature and how long to bake
I wonder if i can use instant oat than old fashioned oats..
You can! You will just get a different texture.
Süper 💯💯💯💯💯💯
For the butter 14 teblespoons so how much for grams ççççç thank you
196 grams
Thank you for recipe! Now my cookies turned out there soft and chewy in the center but the edges were not crispy. I made these cookies in haste when G kids came over. I didn't have butter so I used some Greek yogurt and a little bit of olive oil. So what do think?
GOING TO MAKE THESE FOR CHRISTMAS HOW MUCH DOES THIS RECIPE MAKE????
@@theresasmith9801 bruh fix ur caps lock

What is the substitute for eggs?
I'm sorry, I've only tested this recipe with eggs.
Are the cookies hard the next day?
No, just be sure to wait until they cool and then store in an airtight container.
I put half my mixture in the fridge. Super hard now so im guessing i leave it out for a few to soften 🤷♀️ i know I won't get an answer soon but at least for next time. HELP PLZ

Also I am cake decorating but I don’t make often cookies 😁🤦🏻♀️♥️🤟I am deaf 🧏♀️ I want know about giants cookie how long cooking 20min or 25mins ???
What brand is yr mixer?
KitchenAid
Add 1 tbsp. honey for chewy cookies
Or molasses
How many cookies does the given recipe above make? Does anyone know?
Right now I have 24 in the oven & looks like dough for 12 more.
We get 32 cookies out of them when they are made like in the video and with a 1 1/2 tablespoon scoop.
Totally messed it up.
Didnt have vanilla extract so used honey.
Didnt have 2 large eggs so i used 3 medium ones.
14 tbsps how much in cups
What temperature??????
If you want a cookie that's not quite as flat, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
U said 14tabelspoon it mean 2 stick of butter right ?
Oh no did she say 14?? And usually your sticks have the table spoon marks. 16 tablespoons make 2sticks which is a cup
Shoot now i can't even remember if i used 14tblespns of butter sheesh..lol
Nope, it's only 14 tablespoons. 2 sticks in the US is 16 tablespoons. If you are overseas you need 196 grams.
Is it possible to get all the measurements in grams. Thank you.
I tried this and it absolutely did not work. The cookies barely moved and were hard on the outside and not done in the middle. Not sure where I went wrong.
