  • In this video I walk you through what the noise gate is, why you need it and how it works. There are only a few settings on this thing, but it can still be a bit tricky to understand how to use it. So I cover that for you!

Thanks. For those of us that have not had a lot of experience with effect pedals this helps. Consider doing a series on other effects in the Spark.

Always wondered how the decay part worked so this helps. I am now using this NoiseGate on all my settings for my '80's Japanese Squier strat that is not RWRP but has great tones.

I find that on almost every preset, dialing the noise gate down to the lowest threshold level, especially on a Strat, has the best results.

I agree. I kept thinking I was getting some software issues but it’s usually just the noise gate

I really appreciate your videos dude! I'm a "newbe" with electric guitars and bought that spark amp like 2 years ago and just start to play with it. But as I know nothing about music amps, I have a long way to go. So, your tutorials are simple to understand, you have a posed voice, and you go slowly while you explain everything so I can easily understand. Thanks for your work. I appreciate my amp more and more now! 😁 Have a great day!

Hey Andy, nice vid. Going to experiment with that.

Unfortunately, on the lowest setting, it cuts off my guitar, so renders the amp impractical for my tone. I may try a pre-gate, see if that helps, otherwise you'll see it at Goodwill.

Yes but why not build in a ground loop...the buzz is a real disappointment

Plug the spark amp into an earthed USB port - all 50/60hz hum disappears. Many grounding issues with the power supply included with the amp

Can you explain "earhed USB port" I'm not strong on electrical grounding issues?

Hey Michael! Sure, I'll have a look. Have you tried searching the tone cloud already?

Nice video! Question; I am having the same issue and tried the same tdk adapter that you use, but the noise doesn't go away. Most people who have no issues with the spark were telling me that the "hiss" noise is not normal on the Spark with only the amp mode engaged because it's supposed to be silent. Have u try any other adapter that may help the "hiss" to go away?
