  • New users of the Positive Grid Spark Amp are often dissatisfied with the sustain of amp tones. I know I was at first, but this is very easy to fix. In fact, there are hundreds of variations you can make to the Spark tones, way more than most people realize. But we’ll start with adding sustain.
    Look out for more videos I’ll be creating, showing how to customize the tones for your Spark Amp.

    There is also a sustain comp that seems to work perfectly along with this tip

      I’ve recently discovered the sustain comp pedal (virtual version of the Boss Compression Sustain boss CS-3).
      I’ve been working on sliding 6ths the past couple weeks and adding the Sustain Comp into my signal chain has been amazing.

    I just got a couple of patches from the cloud. Same thing as in video. The notes and in some cases the chord will just die out. Now thanks to the video I can fix that problem!! I wasn't sure if you could mess with the parameters on patches from the cloud. Since I am not near the amp right now watching the video answered that problem, without me having to wait and experiment later!!! Thanks for that info. Also watched a video on how to get rid of the bass sound that every present seems to have. Definitely like the Spark mini!!! I Also have another little practice amp I bought from Amazon for like $60 bucks. It doesn't have an online app but it does have on board effects you can mess with. The software on the Spark is better BUT the Amazon amp SOUNDS a bit better. Louder also. It is called a Flamma. I was going to sell it or give it away when I got the spark, but decided to keep it because for the price it really is a good little practice amp!!! You can run it on batteries OR plugged in. I think the Flamma goes for about $80 now but it is definitely worth it! Especially if people don't want to spend $200 for the mini, don't like messing with apps, or don't want to wait 8 months to receive the Spark. Thank you for the video, now I can't wait to apply to the Spark and get some sustain on otherwise great download from the could presets!!

      Thanks for watching Elliot. And thanks for the Flamma amp review. I've never heard of them before. I'm looking at it now on Amazon and it's $88 today. Flamma also makes a lot of effects pedals as we'll, that I'll have to look into. They have great reviews and the JHS show featured their line of pedals. thejhsshow.com/articles/have-you-seen-flamma

      @@StevenParente Yes Maybe an Idea for future video content!! I would but lately in my old age I'm kinda shy about making videos...LoL 20 or 30 years ago I would've jumped at the chance if TH-cam was around back then!! Now No way hahaha.!! Just got ahold of my Spark and YES It worked fine definitely got more sustain!! Thanks again!

      I’ve had my Spark for about 2 weeks now and have been trying to find a way to increase sustain so it wouldn’t blip out during a bend with tremolo. Your video helped fix my problem.

    Just killing the thershold all the way, works wonders.. even in analog noise killers

      @StevenParente  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it does! Sometimes you just need a little for single coils if you have a high gain signal. Thanks for watching Pedro.

    Excellent, just found your channel and subscribed. I have done some research in the tone cloud, but have not found the type of sustain that is in TH-cam channel "dettfinalwish" and their version of Canon Rock. I know they have a full blown recording studio...I am just hoping I can get something fairly close. If you or anyone here has any suggestions, please post. Looking forward to more of your videos. Thank you!

      Thank you for watching Gage 2K5! Try to find out what the band uses. Are they using humbucker pickups (usually higher sustain) or single coil (more clarity but less sustain on their own). Are they using conventional pickups, or active? What amps are they using, or are they using amp modeling software. Are they using overdrive pedals or distortion... or both? There are several TH-cam channels that do equipment overviews of popular bands. Look up "how to get a good guitar tone", or "how to get (name a band) guitar tone", I regularly listen to Premier Guitar's Rig Rundown. www.premierguitar.com/videos/rig-rundowns. Try to find a band tone that's similar, or post to th-cam.com/video/C_MzuKcgEEA/w-d-xo.html. You can also search the thousands of Spark tones on they Cloud, within the Spark app. I have found many great tones and then modified to my own taste.

      Yes, you can do that! Or, if I'm playing my single coiled tele or strat, I'll dial it down to almost off. Thanks for watching!
