Wunderbar, dieser Sound, einfach geil !
Maybach bleibt eben Maybach
Ähnlich wie die V100
thats a work of art, those things used to drive the german
Pzkpfw VI Tiger I and the Pzkpfw V VK3601
Geez guys, don't you know the engine is going on that little boat right in front of it? Note the positioning, and the alignment. It's perfect!! Load'er up!
nice video, i love the sound of huge old engines :)
Music to my ears.
I really love old engines! I wish I had stuff like that in my backyard.
It's AMAZING that they get those Maybach luxury cars to be so quiet with an engine like this!!
Any time I watch videos of old engines like these, I think of how much BALLS these guys have for shoving their hands into a rusty, potentially fragmentary explosive engine. Obviously, the confidence comes with the knowledge of diesel engines and motors in general. But this guy just casually sets his spray can 6 inches from the flywheel carrying, I'd guess, more than enough force to rip arm from torso if he so merely comes in contact.
@SteamboatWilley
Yes, that's six valves per cylinder. Maybach engines were works of art. They were designed to produce lots of low-RPM power and do so very efficiently and reliably.
That boat in the background will be moving like a torpedo with all of that power.
Bet the Maybach dealership would love to have this sitting on their front lot.
I was waiting for his knee to end up with the cypress ones in the background -- dangerous, but fun.
This is the new Maybach motor very clean!!
aww the mighty Maybach, got to respect the Maybach
Great engine, excellent sound!
thanks for the replay mike really appreciated
An eargasm! Love it!
I love old engines.
its cleaner then a VW diesel...
+ThaPietjah I hate riding behind a Passat!
+ThaPietjah HA
+ThaPietjah Not if you do an emissions test in the United States... amazingly every single one is cleaner than the breath of a newborn infant. That's German ingenuity. :-)
+ThaPietjah VW is a good car and will always be so...
still better than ford
+berbecul5000 if something is expensive it must be good right ?
I think the owner of this engine is very lucky for two reasons, one because its such a great piece of kit, the other because he is running the engine without any guards on it and hasnt been dragged into the works and flailed around until completely particalised by the energy in the flywheel. Please keep the engine but fit a guard, id hate to hear of someone getting tangled up in the works.
I was waiting for your knee or foot to get caught up in that huge ass flywheel!
Germans build fine machines!
Ahh wonderful, thank you! Also answers my second question regarding the noise, exhaust etc.
Cheers!
Nice those old diesels
remembers me to our old Junkers Ship engine ;)
i looove this old diesel engines
It says "Ahh! Feels so good to run again after so many years!"
cummins and detroit they are everywhere for a reason
Sounds like a old bus ^^ Nice sound
In Norway I remember the old FM motors from Fredrikstad. Very spesial sound too. You could dance to it somehow.
That flywheel oh dear.
awesome !! thank you for posting.....
tolles Video (:
Great video.
Thanks
sounds great
thats a damn big engine to put in that boat...
Ни фига себе , работает ! Das ist fantastisch !
Cool, thanks for the info.
wow i LOVE that sound
put that engine in a old s-class.... thats what i call luxury :P
amazing!
now thats a lawnmower engine i want in my kubota
everybody has one of these in their back yard.
Excuse me sir. your knee cap is about to be obliterated by that *janky rusted flywheel*
Ei jumalauta tollanen pitää jokasen diesel harrastajan pihassa olla, aivan mahtavaa :)
Germans ill give you the golden premium building engines.
No I meant that the boat in the background wouldn't be able to carry the weight of that wonderful piece of machinery. I don't question german engineering Im a german myself and I love it!
Look at the size of that monster , considering it is just a 3 cylinder ! Wow !
Yes, but remember Maybach is a company name, they of course made more than one model of engine, WWII Panzer tanks had a Maybach V12 petrol engine.
Put a turbo on it, that will make it run smoother. It's burning rich.
The real Maybach Music.
LOVE IT
Absolutely wonderful ! Are you from Finland? Suomi?
I have bought two cars from Finland, one Toyota Landcruiser 1981 this year from Tampere and a VW Caravelle Syncro two years ago from Jyväskylä.
I like Finland, and some cars are better priced than here in Sweden.
all the best, Andy
@gamehackertutorials He's right.That's just a collector pipe, or manifold.
Yeah, it should fit that boat nicely lol
This is where the clouds are comming from XD
greattt sounddd
Beautiful
Sounds to me like like a 180 degree crankshaft which on a three cylinder engine sounds like a four cylinder engine with one of the cylinders not firing. The three cylinder engine with the rod journals 120 degrees apart sounds much sweeter but does have a rocking couple shake which can be a problem.
1:02 watch your knee man. lol
Pretty sweet.
@gamehackertutorials
normally i'd say yes, it was down to the muffler, but that small pipe that links onto the head looks to be just the collector pipe that would normally have the muffler bolted onto it. She looks to have NO muffler
six valve peer cylinder, astonishing
makes no sense, just more parts that can fail
good throttle responce!
That's one he'll of an outboard you got there.
amazing
I'd love to be able to say my house is powered by Maybach....
The way you two were wrestling around, somebody could have gotten hurt.
more powerrr, igorrrr
it's going in the little red boat
That exhaust flange looks like there may have been a turbo bolted to it, were these engines ever turbo charged?
Pure awesome
WATCH YOUR KNEE SIR,
Motores andoria
6 valve heads? thats pretty crazy
Is it similar to the ones used in giant airships?
Hyvä Finland!
Just curious, how does a combustion engine work in a submarine? (i.e underwater, how is it supplied with the necessary air?)
Well that blew the mice out the exhaust!
This engine is cool. It should be restored to its original condition.
the crank from this engine weights more than a prius i bet lol
Are you going to be reconditioning this engine?
Don't even think about putting it in that boat.....
all that loose clothing around that flywheel is kinda scary!!
+rod928s4 Thats funny, I was thinking he exact same thing.. One minor slip
and that guy is grease for the flywheel.. Come on poeple
cool... !!!
You should put it in that row boat.....for reasons
Yes, it's supposed to have a turbo charger.
The Eye ähh the sound of the tiger!!!
bad ass!!!
water cooled?
хорошо нога в моховик не соскользнула ...
I am from Friedrichshafen :D
@TtimWh indeed, there's a big flywheel but no fan blade
that is nice motor'
What's the displacement and how much rpm can it reach?
Holy smokes! (literally)
I was listening to dubstep but i saw this on recommended tab.....
Well the engine sounds like one tho.
What about the catalystic?
does it can use air valve to start?
I wonder if its enough power for that sailboat?
@stratobagster fan blade? wat fan blade
