Last August my band (Vilt) was personally invited to play with in flames, afterwards they invited us to an afterparty at our hotell, me and Liam talked allot about bass tech and also how practical things like how to learn new songs quicker and such. Really awesome dude!
Saw In Flames this feburary and its something I still haven't gotten over yet. We hardly get good bands in India and talking about these melo death legends it was a dream come true. I carried a big mount board with "In Flames We Trust" painted on it, was cool to get acknowledged by these guys.
Wow, this RR takes me way back!! We Root to Remain and Stabbing the Drama inspired so much of our jams and various bands growing up. Thanks for this, and I can't wait to see Soilworks!! Much respect and appreciation, Perry and PG!!
i love In Flames, one of my fav bands, but at the same time i am so glad The Dillinger Escape Plan returned back!! And Liam with them too! So cool, so happy!
This video is SO GOOD... Thank you guys & thank you Premier Guitar for making this happen!!! Every time In Flames is in NYC, I'm there & doing the meet & greet, because the guys are just so genuine & cool. They've never sounded better live & the new tunes are absolutely incredible!
Nice! Been getting back into In Flames when I found Chris joined, been listening a whole lot more. They where my band as a teen, pplin high school with bands or instruments wanted to sound like metallica and misfits or grindcore bands. But this was the band and they shaped how I play guitar. I learned how to play lead lines(not solo) but now when I write I listen to melodies a lot more and just love these guys. One of the goats of metal.
I just want to chime in that I had a VERY similar formative experience with In Flames. Mid to late 90s I first heard them and it absolutely blew me away. Opened the door to super heavy and harmonic metal and changed the direction of my guitar playing completely. So stoked you did this!!!
premier guitar we need a sum 41 rig rundown before they’re gone! Its crazy to me that they been playing for 25-26 years and no one ever had a chat with them about it. Cheers from a swede from outside Gothenburg! 👍🏼
My story is nearly identical - Clayman changed my life and I started playing guitar not long after. Bjorn is the coolest and his drumming on The Jester Race and Whoracle is also fantastic.
I've loved In Flames throughout their evolution both stylewise and the changes in members, but I REALLY love this latest album from them and I don't care about whether they truly ARE or sound like what many think In Flames should sound like, I just want to hear more from this lineup as they have amazing chemistry and they all seem to enjoy each other's company and contributions.
I bought bjorn signature about 4 years ago and it will never leave my collection. In fact its the only signature guitar I have. I have many other non sigs but his is something special. Anyways awesome run down.
This was awesome! It's also cool to see how Chris's rig has changed over the years too. I had the pleasure of opening for Act of Defiance *one of his bands* a number of years ago. Turned out we used the same wireless channel, when we went to sound check I got to play through the big boy rig 😅😂 needless to say, I was the one changing my channel😅 but he was seriously such a nice dude!
The clip at the beginning almost looks like the St Louis show i was at May 22nd. Security looks the same and im pretty sure that is my black Amon Amarth wrist band on my right arm in the front row i was VIP.
I wonder how Chris does the pinch harmonics with that thumb pick. Is he pinching with his index finger, maybe? Very interesting to see a metal guitarist use a thumb pick. I just love seeing all the different types of players and their little quirks and preferences. Rock 'n' roll really is the best.
@@XMetalChefX Thanks for checking. Its not rocket science though, im sure they'll figure it out xP I'd love to have that longer scale too, would be nice
glad to always see a Good mighty LesPaul used for Metal purposes i also own a Black Bbeauty LP Custom and a Black Custom SG they are my babes for my instrumental Funeral DoomMetal projects :) love any Guitar that resembles this two
I remember stripping every guitar we owned of its pickups and adding an 81 lol. That pickup is literally the best! Angels beneath me used them exclusively
Definitely cool seeing Chris, I don’t know a whole lot about In Flames since I don’t listen to them so I didn’t know he was in this band. I mainly know him from his time in Megadeth but he’s undoubtedly a fucking beast of a guitarist and I love his tones
I can’t find anything online about Björn’s MD61 heads - I wonder if they are part of the renewed push on the tube amp side of the business Marshall’s new CEO mentioned not too long ago? Cool stuff though !! :3
I remember seeing some info years ago about them. To my knowledge, they were prototype amps for Doug Aldrich, and Bjorn even got to borrow some from Doug. He absolutely loved them and was able to track a couple of them down. I've personally only ever seen one go up for sale, and it was $2700+.
The tech did mention that he's been hassling Marshall about them since 2012, so it sounds like they're an old prototype that just never made it to production.
@paddikrause9304 thanks for the reply. I guess that puts that story to bed. No idea why the guy said it. He has some pretty sweet gear and owns the biggest festival here. Still a cool guitar and I was buying it anyway.
still remember i brought my guitar to local luthier to drop tune my LTD EC from E standard to drop Bb. he's an old school so really not use to drop tuning stuff. most customer came for max was for drop D lol he said "I thing u bought a wrong string. this is a baritone string" lol then i showed him a website that list out guitarist gear. i believe it was jesper gear. using elixir 12-68 string drop tune to Bb. he was like "wow tuned to drop Bb? really?" lol
I don't remember anyone in the band swearing like once. The PG presenter was swearing constantly like an adult trying to look cool around teenagers. It's a bit lame.
I think Sweden and Finland make great music because they accept that genre as "popular". They have more time also locked away in dark winters to write. In Finland amorphis is one of the highest selling bands in history there. Just a different place. America unfortunately cares only about 1 thing and that's money. Not art. And people here unfortunately just follow the herd. Japan is also very metal and rock dominant.

Dillinger Escape Plan is my favorite band and In Flames got me into metal like 25 years ago so this lineup and rundown put a huge smile on my face.
Thanks for including the bassist and his rig!!!
We always try, time permitting!
Our pleasure!
In Flames goes through bassists and drummers so quickly these days I have a hard time keeping track of them and I've been a fan since 1995.
Broderick, such a genuine guy!!! Playing is off the charts!!!!!!
Perrys responses remind me of when i tried to work in sales talking to a customer.
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
He seems a little nervous in this but otherwise I like him as an interviewer.
I remember way back around 2004 when Bjorn and Jesper were using Pod Pro XTs for cleans and Peavey 5150 IIs.

How he feels about Inflames, growing up and playing guitar is mutual. This was a great video. Cheers.

I love that we have In Flames and Supergroup In Flames in the same band. Awesome dudes, awesome gear, awesome rundown.
We need a Big Wreck Rig rundown. The have the best live sound

Ampeg SVT 4 Pro is a GREAT bass amp!!!
I liked the Soilwork call out, such an underappreciated band in the genre.

I felt that intro, well stated! ❤🤘

One of my favorite metal bands of all time 🔥
Nice to see this. Love these guys!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm stoked. I'm a huge in flames fan.
Dude, I say the same thing about Sweden all the time. So much favorite music from there!
Saw them in NC last month. They fucking CRUSHED IT! Great job here as always too, Perry! 👏🏻
Excellent job Perry. This was my favorite Rig Rundown and I’ve seen so many. 🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼🤘🏼
Love this band!
Please do Peter Hook and the Light!!!!!
Definitely one of my favorite bands and Peter Hook is one of my biggest influences for bass
Great job on this!
Bjorn's picks are great, i got one when they played in Argentina
Chris was sooooo good in megadeth. glad to see he is still growing with in flames
So much better watching this without ads than reading through the article filled with ads.

What are Bjorns solo settings? That cracked open wah sound. Love it.

Rig Rundown whith City and Colour please!
I really dig Chris' ENGL Savage. Definitely gonna check this amp out.
Epiphone needs to do a bucket head sig
I agree with this sentiment
I talked with a rep a while ago. How guitar body is bigger than a normal Gibson so it's hard for them to figure out a way to build them.
@@XMetalChefX Thanks for checking. Its not rocket science though, im sure they'll figure it out xP I'd love to have that longer scale too, would be nice

Long live In Flames!
Anyone know anything about what Bjorn is talking about with working with Nueral DSP???? An IF/ Bjorn plugin???? That would be awesome.
If you guys ever get the chance to do this for Insomnium, that would be great.

damn dude youre in for a treat being able to listen to an artist you like and not having to listen to dave mustaines vocals
@@sixthgatebass I know that Dave’s singing is incredibly divisive for some people but I still like it, makes his voice distinctive for a reason
In Flames with Chris Broderick is the tightest live sound they've had in years. I saw them in November with Meshuggah, and they sounded great.
Check out the Jag Panzer albums he's on.
The Diabolic is like an alien version of the Rhoads V. That’s a cool spin on it.
Love Rig run down! Please do brandon and Ryan aaaand Brian from Black Dahlia Murder!!!
So are they not making the Bjorn signature anymore? I think they stopped making them but he's still signed to them maybe?
IN FLAMES ❤

You're welcome, dude! They do sound absolutely killer, and Marshall should seriously rethink releasing them with the new management.
Great job 😊 what pick gauge he use ??
