Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens, Tombstone) joins us this week and shares countless memories from his storied career. From his tenure alongside James Cameron, to his fond memories with Bill Paxton, and even revealing the truth about Michael Rooker - Biehn has a ton of fun stories this week. Not only that, but Michael opens up on his dependency on alcohol early in his career, and how hitting rock bottom was the only way to prevent more self destruction. I loved him in Terminator but Hicks is still my favorite role of his. Just the way that character was written was great and Michael just elevated it.

I really like Michael Biehn. I find it sad, unfortunate his career wasn't better. And Wow didn't know about his stroke. Glad he's ok.
He had a great career man. Sounds like he didn’t manage the money correctly. Which happens to us a lot.
He’s a method actor, a top B actor, and he can look back at his career with great pride, but from 2000 on his best acting days were behind him.

Wishing him the best, I fucking love his cockiness with Doc in Tombstone. One of the best deaths ever, gets shot in the head and walks out like a zombie. He saved Abyss tbh as well.

I've always loved this guy and was mesmerized by him when I saw him in The Terminator. He was hot af. He still is. I'm so glad he recovered from the stroke.
Strokes are terrifying.
I had a series of strokes when I was 28. It'll be ten years this August. I had a really unusual headache for about a week and I was finding everything tasted odd. Things were sweeter than they should've been, even water was almost sickly sweet. But we were in the process of moving, so I just carried on, didn't feel like we had time to stop and figure out what was going on.
I was shopping for dinner with my wife literally the day we'd finished moving house and I just collapsed in the supermarket aisle. Complete left hand side paralysis.
I slowly regained some movement back over the course of a couple of hours, but it happened again and lasted longer.
I spent a week in hospital and was discharged with loads of medication after so many tests and a confirmation that I had numerous small strokes (TIA's) and then one big one. In the MRI, they also noted lots of old, healed lesions that suggested that the things I had been passing off as migraines for the few years prior were likely TIA's, too.
I have physically recovered about 99%. I have a few patches with abnormal sensation on my head and left shoulder, but the cognitive deficits have been life altering.
It essentially turned my ADHD up to 11 and left me with some symptoms of potential ASD, along with gaps in my memory going as far back as my childhood.
Strokes are terrifying, and honestly, it's so comforting to hear other people like Michael talk about his experience.

My grandfather had a massive stroke right after retiring. He couldn't use his right arm or leg and he never regained his speech. My dad had a small stroke about 5 years ago, and he improved dramatically over 3 days. Within a month he was about 98% back as far as physical abilities. One thing that seems to be a lingering effect was his balance has never been the same since. He is more prone to falls. Fortunately, he hasn't gotten badly hurt in any of his falls, but between age (he's 80 now) and the poor balance it doesn't take a lot to make him fall, so he has to be more careful than he would have otherwise. But even with that he's still doing OK. If you didn't know he had a stroke you'd never guess it. I can see it in very subtle ways, but most people could never tell. Your story is pretty damned scary. Having that happen at 28 has to take you by surprise, and scare the hell out of you. Obviously, there are lingering effects that have plagued you, and I really hope that those subside more over time. Stories like yours make me appreciate my realative good health. You can't take it for granted. Hang in there. Hopefully you improve more over the next few years.
I had a mild stroke. Lost my balance. Took me 6 months to recover and walk without a cane. It's not your brain healing. It's your brain rewiring itself. Great work Michael that you're doing the best you can. Keep strong, keep working. Thanks brother.
Exactly. It's a big misconception that your brain is healing itself. Your brain tissue can't heal like muscle tissue can. Your brain is rewiring itself and looking for new pathways.
When I saw Michael in The Mandalorian I wondered if he'd been unwell at some point since I last saw him in anything. Now I know. Damn.
I thought it was vitamin B1 deficiency from alcohol abuse (I forget the name of the condition) because it does some seriously wonky shit to your physiology and I thought that explained 1) his look and speech and 2) his clearly coked-out behavior in interviews in the '00s.

My minor strokes caused everyone to RUN away, lol. 😂🤣😂 I think it was all for the better, since I probably wouldn't have become an award-winning author if I hadn't switched from rigorous physical performances and instruction (acting, directing, and saber fencing, mostly) solely to writing, editing, illustrations, videos, V.O., etc.
It was interesting to see how quickly people bailed, though. It is what it is. 💪😎✌️ Gotta be hardcore in REALITY, not just in the movies.

I met Michael Biehn at a convention, back in Nov 2019! super nice guy, one of the most down to earth actors I ever met, I always thought he was a very underrated actor, he can play any role, it's too bad you don't see him much anymore, whenever I see him in a movie, it always reminds me of another great actor Bill Paxton, who sadly passed away, they were in a lot movies together, I'm glad he's gotten back on his feet, and doing better!
Now I know what happened to Michael. So glad he's back. Missed his creativity and artistic talent. "I say we take off and Nuke the site from orbit" 😎👍

Thank you so much for this video. I’ve liked Michael Biehn ever since I first saw him in Terminator. His talent, his very persona illuminated every part he played. And then he seemed to disappear. I’m grateful that he has overcome the effects of his stroke and that he continues to improve physically, mentally and also as an actor. Micheal is a gift to us all. I wish Michael and his family infinite multiples of all the joy that he has brought into the world.

He was great in both Mando and Walking Dead, it's never a bad idea to have Michael Biehn in a show or movie, wish he had more to do, he would fit nicely into the John Wick franchise.

In tombstone he was the coolest/saddest of all the cowboys,just the way he acts is umm bad assery .he can play any role and make it ..stay frosty..
I could almost tell he had a "condition" due to the way he spoke. I noticed that during the ALIENS reunion. I am glad he is doing better because a stroke is no joke.

That story is terrifying. That kind of brain injury just happens while you're asleep, and then it takes 10 or more years to recover. I don't want to imagine it.
I'm so happy you've recovered. I just had one myself 2 weeks ago. Fortunately for myself I recovered within a few hours after arriving at the hospital. It's a reality check. Not having control of your body yet being self aware and unable to communicate. Im also fortunate that my wife was there that morning. Glad your still with us Michael. Good health ❤

I had 2 strokes. Did not know I had 2 till my second one put me in the hospital. Same thing happened to me as Michael. In the middle of the night had a terrible headache. Took excedrin and went to bed. In the morning, I got out of bed and fell to the floor. I could not walk. Spent time in the hospital and rehab. Had to learn how to walk again. I will never be 100 percent but at least I can live alone and take care of myself...and I am alive!
The abyss and tombstone were my favourite roles of his.
I had my stroke in feb last year, lost my control of left arm and leg, arm came back quite fast, leg im still limping on. Did not know Biehn also had a stroke, was very fortunate to meet him at a con here in sweden in 2019, he signed my nike vandals from 1984. I have videos of it, check it out if yall want. Very chill and humble guy!❤️
he did a really good job in Far Cry Blood Dragon. Really thought it was his 80s self..... If anyone wants to see a Michael Biehn Rambo/Arnie, then play that game.

I had a nightmare that michael biehn passed away 2 years ago it felt real i dont want to have that nightnare again hearing about his stroke i didnt know because im named after kyle reese he played kyle reese i want to meet him so bad

Five and a half years ago, I had a moderate stroke. I can relate to the feeling of uneasiness. There is nothing worse than having to relearn how your bod6 works again.

This guy was so incredibly handsome in aliens and terminator and such a good actor. Seems like a good guy. The stroke effected his looks. When I saw him b4 I knew he had a stroke I figured something happened. I wonder if the stroke had anything to do with his drinking problem. He still IS decent looking yet he was GORG
I used to go to the same gym as Michael. He was always very personable and very cool to people who interrupted his workout.
I never knew he had a stroke. Glad his wife got him medical attention. I've met her, she is a lovely woman. My Mom had a stroke the year she turned 30, and she forgot a lot of things. Fortunately for us, she remembered us.

I’ve always loved that guy since the terminator, tombstone, aliens, navy seals, the abyss, the rock, etc. He was great in that short lived tv show adventure inc. I would love to see him in more movies and tv shows. He’s still got it. He should work with Arnold Schwarzenegger again, Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes, Stephen Lang, Kurt Russell, Robert Patrick, etc.
I had a TBI about six years ago and it sounds like about the same thing like a stroke. I’m glad he survived and got better.

I had a stroke in 2014 at 50yrs old. Same thing happened. I was a computer tech at the time and couldn’t read my docs or notes, didn’t know who the people around me where.
I lost 80% of the vision in my left eye, but mostly have recovered now. But still have trouble remembering things that are second nature to me.
I am sure there is still some brain damage from that.
Dodged a bullet there.
Totally healthy at the time.
This guy is great in everything he does.
I think most of us really like Michael. I've never seen him in a film I haven't enjoyed, and he's remained a real human being, despite Hollywood.
Knowing F.A.S.T is great but some of us don’t have these warning signs when we have a Stroke. F) Face-is one side dropping, A) Arms is one side not even with the other, S) Smile- Is one side down, T) Time call for help or T) Tongue have them stick out their tongue , is it to the side?

I had a few minor strokes. But my partners were narcissistic megalomaniacs, so they blamed them on me. Collapsing really inconvenienced them, ya know? Understandable, right? And I don't have any real friends or close family members, so no one gave two shieetz, lol. 😂🤣😂 I just had to deal with all of it alone, mostly. Never had medical coverage, either. It is what it is. I'm just glad they weren't super crazy strong or serious.
I'm an award-winning author now, and I'm totally uninterested in the work I used to do. Not to mention... uhm... pretty wary of people, lol. 😂 Go figure. I don't think I'll survive to like 2048 or what not, but I'm making do with what I have.

I had a massive stroke in 2014 couldn't walk couldn't use my left arm could hardly read wouldn't turn my head to the left could hardly talk. He's wrong about the brain though the part that dies is gone forever the rest of the brain picks up the slack

I had a stroke in my sleep during Covid and lost the use of my right arm. I've had to retire and now I'm on a fixed income. It's been 2 1/2 years and I still can't use my right arm.
I'm guessing this explains his appearance in Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Something must still be wrong because 12 years ago he wasn't married to Jennifer. He was married to Gina Marsh from 1988 to 2014. He wasn't married to Jennifer Blanc until 2015.
He and Jennifer were already a couple in 2012 at the latest, so he and Gina were obviously separated for a few years before they finalized the divorce.
I think they met on the set of The Victim, around 2010. It was released 2011. He may have divorced Gina in 2014 but I don't think they were living together by then.

No joke. I had a stroke a year ago. You need to learn how to do everything all over again.
I know exactly what you feel.
Fact Brain tissue can't heal like muscle tissue. The statement brain is time sums it. I went to a neurologist 5 years after my stroke and the area affected by my stroke is still dead and always will be. What happens if your lucky like me and Michael Biehn is your brain re-wires itself, opens up new pathways. But once brain tissue is dead it's dead.

This is so sad because he's such a great top-rated character actor, and plays a bad guy really good. I didn't even recognize him, his voice isn't even the same as it used to be.
My dad suffered a really bad stroke. He is still with us but he’s never been the same. He can’t walk right, and he aged way too fast.
It took Mr Biehn 10 years to recover his memory? 😢
