Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens, Tombstone) joins us this week and shares countless memories from his storied career. From his tenure alongside James Cameron, to his fond memories with Bill Paxton, and even revealing the truth about Michael Rooker - Biehn has a ton of fun stories this week. Not only that, but Michael opens up on his dependency on alcohol early in his career, and how hitting rock bottom was the only way to prevent more self destruction. Micheal Biehn's performances as Kyle Reese and Corporal Hicks had a big impact on me. I had to be 8 years old when I first watched "The Terminator" and "Aliens." It was Kyle Reese who was an example of what a man should be with those he loves. Corporal Hicks is who inspired me to earn the title of Marine and what a good Marine should be.

James Cameron strikes me as a guy who doesn't mince his words. He's direct, blunt, efficient. Some people can accept that and work with it, and some just can't and would rather the director praise them all day long.
Exactly. Actors are experience only 0.5% of what a typical boss is for the rest of the world and they get to tell their "horrible" story for life.
I met this man at a comic con in New Orleans along with his wife. Very nice guy. I enjoyed meeting him. Autographed a photo of himself as Johnny Ringo.

Michael was right. Jim is one of rare people that is an expert on probably every job position on a movie set. Except acting.
Everyone who has worked with Cameron says the same thing: he is a singular talent that expects the best from everyone working with him.

He got a terribly miscast Edie Falco as a fkn general but not this guy or "SARAH CONNOR"?! (yeah yeah they used to be married, still).
Michael is my favorite actor from the 1980s, this guy created some iconic roles in Terminator and Aliens. He was also amazing in the Abyss and Tombstone, every movie he was in was by far the better for it.

Surprised didn’t mention the Cameron blow-up on Titanic that was in the press and talked about by Kate Winslet - him yelling at the worker who didn’t release the hallway floodwater on time causing a long delay.
I think there were a lot of blowups during that production. To a lot of people working on it, especially Cameron, it felt like a doomed production and he might never direct again. Everyone was predicting it to fail and the pressure was insane.

He was in a few OK ones. The one with him in the bunker shows he didn't loose his edge. Solid fkn performance by him and 2 other dudes.

Arnold has told a story of being yelled at by Cameron during the first Terminator movie ("Read the fucking line, Arnold!"), so I can believe he would do it again. I mean when you're a scrawny shaggy-haired dude from Canada with big enough balls to get mad at the Austrian Oak, I can see you doing pretty much anything. lol

Arnold had a similar work ethic, so I think he fully understood the relentless drive for perfectionism and didn't take it personally. The best possible end product is the goal.

Had a job offer in the late 90's to do personal protection for James Cameron. Everything Michael is saying is true. Jim is an end of the world mentality. Has a ranch in Santa Barbara with a barn the size of a super Walmart fully stocked with ammo, armored vehicles, medicine for everyone that works for him.
His brother runs his security and is an odd dude. They dress up and play D&D for real.

Always wanted to ask if Cameron used to drive a white 1985 Mazda RX-7 - in 1986 this was in his space at the Fox Art Dept. Bungalow so I went in and asked the girls working on Aliens posters “is Jim Cameron around?” - they said no but I always wondered.
I had the biggest crush on Michael because of Reese and Hicks. My first celebrity crush.
The cast of Abyss I think would disagree...he hid the air tank on a few of them for realism, including Ed Harris who was pretty pissed off. Pretty sure a lot of them would say bad things about Jim Cameron.
I've heard even today Ed Harris won't talk about The Abyss . Even though I think it's one of his best performances .

Yeah it's kinda depressing seeing my favourite actors like Michael (and Bruce Willis) succumbing to age.
Having said that, watching the whole interview is worth it, he's talks about bill paxton and there are some other funny moments

I got one story, Is it firsthand? yeah, then tells a second hand story.
An easy mistake to make as someone who has done so many interviews as MR has. He got it first hand in the sense of someone who was actually there at the incident. He is thinking in the sense, he interviewed someone who was really there.
*Yea well he almost drowned a few ppl on the Movie "The Abyss" and some walked off that set...Ask Ed Harris*
Including himself. His oxygen mask failed and he had to punch the safety diver to break free and swim to the surface. That production was a total nightmare; ambition exceeding grasp. It's hard to argue with the results though. The performances he got from those actors are among the best and most memorable of their careers.

Cameron is a solid director but I've also heard he's kind of a snob at times. Lol 😆 . Few months back I read a story some fans wanted an autograph and he said "F you" to them I hope this isn't true but you don't treat fans like that. I get some of these guys directors are passionate but I think there needs to be a level of respect between the directors and actors as well as the fans. Just my take. But yeah Biehn is awesome best Kyle Reese ever. Terminator easily one of my fav series ever at least the first 4 movies especially.

Terminator, the very first, is untouchable. I despise all of the movies after that... including T2. Terminator was nightmarish. It was devastating. It was heart breaking. It was dark. It set me off when I was a kid. I talked about that movie constantly. I pissed off a lot of people because I wouldn't stop talking about it. Every Terminator movie after that got lighter and lighter. While the action was always there the threat and danger was missing. Biehn was brilliant. He was unstable. He was quick. But, he gave that character heart. No one can replace him as Reese. No one.
Couldn't agree more. Nothing better than the OG Terminator.
