need to send some love and recognition out to Yoyoka's drum tutor...i think it's obvious that his tuition has really provided the foundations of how a good drummer should grow. 11yrs3months old. 7yrs experience in the pubs and at carnivals etc. 2+years at major festivals, shows (tv fashion show etc), live tv, and sitting in with stadium bands (Fallout Boy, Cyndi Lauper incl drummer duet, Char and others joined HER band at a large outdoor festival, jammed with Carmine Appice while representing Pearl at NAMM, and pics at Eric's kit when KISS flew her to Tokyo... if only she hadn't broken her wrist on the playground!). She's had her own online "drum course" for 4yrs, although a year or two ago she started vlogging her new English/drum lessons and revealed that it's all by ear! She barely started reading music. But she's learning piano, guitar, bass, writes music and lyrics, even for TV themes & such, has 4 original albums out with the entire fam (dad's a pro, engineers her vids), and sings & plays... She doesn't read music. She memorizes these songs. --also, Love everyones reaction of Joyoka because it's always the same, they are all so emotionally surprised.
@@kwokalisaur Ha! Dunno if it was a typo, but in Germany and most of the rest of the world "J" makes a "Y" sound, so it's doubly great. (Which makes me laugh, because _Jojo Rabbit_ in German would be pronounced "Yoyo Rabbit." 😂 )
Yoyoka learned most everything by ear and she doesn't read notes to the songs she plays and she inputs a lot of her own to the covers she plays. She has only started drumming lessons and music theory lessons in the last few years. Both of her parents are mucisians but still she learned mostly on her own by listening and jamming.
That's false. She's not self taught. There are videos of her with her English-Japanese speaking drum instructor. Second, her father is a musician! Third, it's not memorization, SHE understands music theory, there are videos of her explaining beat theory on the different drums...
Well, well, what do you know! That zany, effervescent cherub has grown. Rather subdued in demeanour now; but Bonzo is still smiling broadly. Simply fabulous Yoyoka. 👏👍🌹
If any of you have seen the video of Tony Royster Jr. when he was 12, I say this young lady is every bit as impressive - with her own voice and style. She will be a force to be reckoned with and a goddess of thunder in her own right.
32 people are jealous that they can't never achieve her talent and success! She's a beast on the drums!🤟😎👍👌simply amazing girl She's got a very bright future ahead of her!
I am not a drummer. I was so impressed with her singular attention to time during the Page solo. it seems that the sheer repetition of the drumming during that long stretch would lead one to veer into the ditch, so to speak, but she keeps the vehicle centrally in the lane. Bravo!
the most impressive side of her playing I found is the perfection of her left foot. the hi-hat never missed a beat, and never got too loud or too faint, just natural and regular as breathing, like Bonzo was used to do....thank you both very much
Also, some of there music is all over the place. I'm no drummer but the beginning of that song looks hard to keep in time. Have been watching her for some time...she is the hammer that can nail anything.
Dear Andy, She seems so relaxed and aloof but firmly in control. If Yoyoka was your student, what would you advise to her? A theoretical question and I'm really wondering what you would have to say. I have to say that at 5:10 where she does those rolls, man she looks really relaxed and your multiple pauses gives credence to her steady work. One of your other fans put the point clearly when I asked if she was 'drifting' where he pointed out that she was following the guitar. You also pointed out earlier that this song or Led Zep was not to a set time. Many thanks for your contributions.

need to send some love and recognition out to Yoyoka's drum tutor...i think it's obvious that his tuition has really provided the foundations of how a good drummer should grow. His name is Emilio...and his band is called the ”Youryokutai Club(葉緑体クラブ)” Great guy...from the videos I've seen you can tell he's passionate but honest...and i think Yoyoka's happy family contribute too. T'is an amazing family to be honest...
Yoyoka only had a handful of lessons with him and not since the virus hit. It would be great to see him again because it was fun watching the two of them. Pat 🏴
@@patjcarey I can always trust you to make the comment I would make! Emilio is really great. Really. But what we are seeing has little to do with him. This is the fruit of talent mixed with constant hard work.
@@chrisegbertky lol you are of course completely right Chris. She has a natural talent which she is taking full advantage of. Her latest Kieth Moon cover is outstanding.
I really thank you!! Good Yoyoka community!
Yoyoka's version of "Uptown Funk" will drop your jaw....guaranteed!
She dances through the entire attack! it's amazing.
yup I really like watching her non head banging stuff like Bruno Mars and jamiroqui
10 yrs old and Dazed and Confused and John Bonham don't usually mix.
Fantastic stuff
😆😆😆 true!!!
Lovely reaction video...I enjoyed watching your expressions as much as hers. I think I've watched every one of her videos and some of them many times. I do have faves... The coves of Jamiroquai, Bruno Mars, RATM Bulls on Parade, Foo fighters Pretender, GFR American Band. Too many to list... and also her very early 5 year old drum lessons. Melt your heart.
Her drum lessons are so terrific. Like a squirrel teaching you how to store nuts!
Omg her 5 year old drum lessons with the kiddie voice and mannerisms... too adorable, I couldn't stop smiling when I watch them!
This is incredible, ya I said it! This girl is phenomenal, she has to be on that show, "that's incredible!" Somebody has to say it!
Coolest kid in the world.
Durind one of Robert Plants interviews, a video of this girl was shown to him. She was doing a cover of Good times bad times... Robert was blown away and said I need to hire her....
Wow, I hope she "makes it" HAHAHa! Check her channel. I like "Put Me Thru" cover of Anderson.Paak th-cam.com/video/MJemsoga8gc/w-d-xo.html , and "Take Cover" th-cam.com/video/7ozwshauRJs/w-d-xo.html cover/collab of MR.Big with Billy Sheehan himself (he also guested on family band "KaneaiYoyoka"'s latest song "Utopia" th-cam.com/video/WU7oR-R2HAY/w-d-xo.html )
That it was really awesome drumming and for sure isn't a begginer level drumming!!! The good thing is that young drummers have fresh memory and remember clearly everything in a row of a song any detail not escapes from their mind. It's amazingly good!!!
Nice one Stamatis!
Yoyoka, NO ONE BETTER....PERIOD.....GAME OVER!!
Hello from San Diego, I'm new to your channel. Love your way of critiquing and acknowledging her amazing talent.
Thank you so much!
She's the BEST. 🤘😎🤘
She does a Stray Cats song and her snare action is mind blowing.
Yes, I love that one. Dancing while playing. You can't help but smile watching her joyful drumming.
There have been so many that I can think of over the years, but they are truly far and few between, that can play at this level of skill and accuracy. Bonnamassa comes to mind on guitar.....this girl is truly a GIFT and not the norm! I hope she keeps it up and has a great career.
What can you say,wow?fantastic yoyoka
Bono was one that beat his drums hard. On Zeppelin songs so does Yoyo. It's a blast to watch her.
You should watch her do Burn by Deep Purple...it will melt your face!
Just watched her "Burn" for about the 10th time. I'm STILL amazed.
@@tomsawyer9403 There is another reaction video for Burn by Ian Paice, the drummer for Deep Purple....she is amazing
There's a video with Robert plant watching the video doing critique and he is blown away just like I was absolutely incredible drum work I'm literally speechless and I feel like a giant f****** loser lol!..🤣🤣
Every time I listen to her, my foot starts tapping! I can’t help it! ❤️ her!
Yes!
She dosen't read music. Just has to hear the song once. Most of her covers take her 1 1/2 to 2 hours from the time she starts to practice it. A couple took her longer maybe 3 to 4 hours.🤯 shes been playing professionally since she was 4.🤯🤯🤯😂 Greatly enjoyed your commentary on yoyoka thanks have a safe and happy day.all most forgot Im a new subscriber.
She did a live sit-in with Fallout Boy a year or so ago. I later saw an interview with one of the band (never heard of them before) and he said she came in with them back stage, went through the song with them _once,_ then went on stage and nailed it. That's some next level shít.
@@tarmaque thanks for sharing most appreciated I've been following her for 2 1/2 years I check her out every day cup of coffee a lot of yoyoka makes for a better day. My favorite anti depressant. 😁 stay safe the world has shifted of its axis. 🤯
@@waynelynch9557 Yup. It never hurts to start the day with a little Yoyoka.
Hey Andrew, by far the best drum channel. You should have many more subs! When you get a chance, watch some of YOYOKAs drum instruction videos just for yourself. Even if most of them are in Japanese, you can tell what she's trying to convey and they're so damn cute!
One of my favorite covers she does is Queen’s “ Stone Cold Crazy.”
Thanks for the tip! 🥁👌
My absolute favorite. Just watching The joy on her face doing that upbeat song was wonderful
mine her cover from The Police "Murdered by Numbers" but infact..i love all her covers very much..they are all awesome.. I even hardly can't wait for her next pieces of art.. :)
What a young legend!
great comments from you sir!
She doesn't read music. She memorizes these songs. --also, Love everyones reaction of Joyoka because it's always the same, they are all so emotionally surprised.
"Joyoka" - happy typo!
@@tarmaque yea, I thought it was probably a non-native english use of a J. You get some great inter-lingual puns sometimes..
@@kwokalisaur I know, right?
& her kit sounds great !!!!!!!
She's self taught from age 2.
it's all by ear!
Please do Ian Paice (Deep Purple)
Yoyoka cover of "Burn" - killer!
& "Put You Thru" - off the leash!
Thanks Carla!
That's false. She's not self taught. There are videos of her with her English-Japanese speaking drum instructor. Second, her father is a musician! Third, it's not memorization, SHE understands music theory, there are videos of her explaining beat theory on the different drums...
@@weekendpartier
You are wrong.
If you want to find out,
Look more closely at her
channel.
@@carlalopez4820 I'm not wrong. Her father is a musician and guitarist
she listen to a song 2x first and 3rd time she plays it..and almost perfect..unreal.. :)
Yoyoka never ceases to amaze.
about 9 months ago I run on to her bplaying in a band in Tokyo or something,l check that out she's actually playing with a live band
she just plain Rocks. i just so love her stick waves
She is not actually able to read music , she memorize the song . Super rock girl !!!!!!!!!!
Well, well, what do you know! That zany, effervescent cherub has grown. Rather subdued in demeanour now; but Bonzo is still smiling broadly.
Simply fabulous Yoyoka. 👏👍🌹
That is as good as it gets. Killer performance
Very very good Scott :)
Bravo!
Man I love watching this girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome little drummer queen!!
the most impressive side of her playing I found is the perfection of her left foot. the hi-hat never missed a beat, and never got too loud or too faint, just natural and regular as breathing, like Bonzo was used to do....thank you both very much
She's got the "frudge". No one but Bonham himself knew what exactly that was, but she's got it.
She gets better everytime she releases a new cover, it's just mind numbing how good she is.
Hey Andrew, check out YOYOKAs latest. It just dropped 45 minutes ago. Monster!
John Bonham had the last laugh on us. He came back as a Japanese girl !!
Thanks for your reaction....I Love Yoyoka
Her Deep Purple cover will blow your mind.
She is the best of the best and a legend of the best.
I was curious how you would react to 10:58. That "OK" sign at 11:05 was what I was looking for.
