Yeah, but when he rambles you get information that you won’t get on any other channel. Like little details that others would leave out because it would make their videos an hour long haha. I’m just glad he decided to share his knowledge and that yt gives him a way to get paid for sharing.
He sent them a 31-minute video, yes, it took him a lot of work to get it that short, but he was able to. And the GN editors did work hard to shave two minutes off because they're presumably doing that 5 seconds at a time.

P B you might want to pay a visit to 'Actually Hardcore OverClocking' (Buildzoid's channel) and search for X570 Tomahawk. Short version: New Tomahawk and Mortar motherboards are not direct replacements for the old B450 versions . The new MBs with the same name are more expensive, higher end boards. If you want old Tomahawk/Mortar value, you don't want tge new namesakes.
I have the B550 A-Pro in my second Ryzen build and it's fantastic. I was able to get my 2X16GB DR kit running so well I migrated my 4x8GB Flare-x kit to my other build. What you said about 4x sticks on that board just reinforces that decision.
The Asus x570 Strix is also really nice. It sucked on launch but bios updates over the past year and a half have made the board so much better. My 3900x now boost up to 4.65ghz when on launch it never went over 4.3
I agree with you I use the B550-F with a 5900x, a lot of peoplke look at me cross-eyed but I can do PBO on 5900x and audio is STELLAR. I tried MSI boards before and the audio is always hissing and really bad at running higher impedance headphones
@@andersjjensen The best or the cheapest are almost never solid choices. The best are waaay too expensive (800e vs 250e anyone? Lol), and the cheapest just make way too many compromises. The most solid choice is the one that gives you as much as possible of the features of the best, while still costing a fraction of it. Aka X570 Tomahawk.
Yeah, but the results are pretty much very obvious already. I believe Scythe claims a 15% improvement on a particular aspect, and some other test results have put it a few degrees cooler than the original FUMA, which beats the Mugen 5 by a degree or two, but still loses to the NH-D15 by a degree or two, while everything else is about the same as the original FUMA. I think pretty much everything has been kept the same or similar, with the exception of a cut on the fins to offer more RAM clearance. RRP is $60, which isn't bad, but the original FUMA went as low as $40+ at one point if I remember correctly, which made it better value when both were being sold, although that is no longer sold now and the FUMA 2 is costing way more and definitely should not be bought. If anything, Mugen 5 is the go to cooler now, as it's being sold at $47 only at the time of writing this, which is probably the best cooler deal right now, while the Freezer 34 eSports DUO is $50 right now, which is an equally as good deal.
I wish you would have talked more about the PCI-E lane compromises each of the B550 boards makes. They may have multiple x16-sized slots and multiple m.2 slots, and multiple SATA ports, but they can never all be used in the same system due to the limit on the number of PCIe lanes in B500. For example, the Aorus Pro v2 will disable the PCIEx4 slot if there is a second m.2 drive (as will the B550M Mortar, which seems like a huge limitation for an MATX board, essentially rendering it an ITX board only inconveniently larger). Other boards disable SATA ports, or limit the second m.2 slot to 2 lanes instead of 4, which would halve the theoretical maximum speed.
I bought an X570 Tomahawk 4 months ago (which came under my budget as well) after watching content from Hardware unboxed and also from Buildzoid here on GN. Received my 5900X yesterday.
I agree on the MSI B550-A Pro. I recently build my system with that board and I couldn't be happier. For a board in this price range (and especially considering that I got it for 20 below MSRP) it seems to have a really good VRM configuration. I actually specifically choose the B550-A Pro due to this after watching the VRM tests Hardware Unboxed did on a huge range of B550 Boards in their B550 Roundup a few month back and the B550-A Pro could hold up in terms of VRM Performance with boards that where like double the price.
I have to agree with you about USB ports on the rear I/O; I'm a sucker for them - the more the better in my books - and that's the main reason I went for an ASUS Crosshair motherboard (11+ USB ports on the rear I/O). The fact that it has a Restart/ Start, Debug LED, are just an added bonus. Thanks for the "Best Of..." AM4 motherboards, I love the amount of detail in your videos. Be Safe
Just got the ASrock x570 taichi today for $170! Lower price and will work with my 3609 till I can get a 5000 series. It’s so beautiful. Big step up from my Gigabyte b450 pro!!!

There are a lot of reports of USB issues with B550/X570 boards. This seems to happen across manufacturers, operating systems, and CPU models. There are too-many-to-mention homebrew solutions, which work for some users but others. It would be amazing if you guys could do a deep dive on it, the discussions online are all over the place!
I'm running Ryzen 5950x on Asus x570-F Gaming on beta BIOS lol but it works great. Using Samsung 980 Pro 1Tb on which I get advertised speed with temps ranging from 45-67°C. CPU boosts over 5Ghz, RAM is running on advertised 3466Mhz, no problems, super stable. 3090 is working great with it, playing Cyberpunk on Ultra, DLSS quality, 1440p @ 75-90 fps. Asus really did a good job. M.2 slots have full metal heatsinks with thermal pads connected to the chipset cooler. BIOS versions and driver updates are coming out often. I love the mobo.
@@NotDzus There was a 60$ deal on the X570 Tomahawk when I bought it. Even researched it a LOT before buying and it was getting really good reviews from Hardware Unboxed and I think GN as well. I'm on ryzen 3000 though as getting a 5000 wasn't possible so Idk what to make of this video.

Woot, glad I grabbed the Asrock Taichi after watching this. I do wish the USB-3 IO connector was in a different spot, but other than that it's rocking right now. And the dual PCIe will rock when I add more M.2 drives! Thanks for the video!
@@ProfessorPhysics2 I have the older regular Crosshair 8 Hero Wifi which has the same amount of USB ports, and as someone with a CV1 Rift, sim racing setup, and way too many RGB peripherals it's perfect. I also love that all of the rear USB ports are USB 3.1 or 3.2, it boggles my mind that manufacturers are still putting as many as four USB 2.0 ports on new $200+ motherboards.
Well... I got 6 SATA ports in my PC built in 2015 and I had to disconnect DVD drive cause I ran out of SATA ports. That's because my M.2 drive is actually running on two SATA III lines, so I got only 4 SATA III ports left after connecting 1TB NVME drive. When I got the PC, I had 250GB SSD for OS and 1TB HDD for everything else. Later on I bought 500GB SSD for video games and apps, but games are getting bigger and I record some video games footage, got some assets for Unity and UE4, so it takes space. So then I bought the mentioned 1TB NVME SSD and 3TB HDD. This way I got 2 SSDs and 2 HDDs connected to SATA ports + NVME that takes other two ports. DVD drive not connected and it comes useful at times, but I got another old PC to not open (literally) this one when I need to copy some old stuff from DVDs or even CDs. 6 SATA ports will be just enough when I upgrade, if M.2 drives won't eat SATA ports.
I too was a normie till I started watching BZ videos about memory overclocking and learned that the reason why I couldn’t even run my memory with xmp settings was because of me mobo topology, did what he recommended which was to populate all four memory slots and pam my memory now runs at 4133 MHz at cl17.
I'm actively looking for USB-C on anything I buy these days. To me it just makes sense to do that. I also bought a USB cable with USB-A on one end and USB-C on the other for my older devices. That makes it easy without needing to add an adapter to the mix.
Planning on building a new HTPC soon (as soon as I can get a 5600x and a 3080). Decided to check this video since I didn't put much thought into which motherboard to get when making my build on pcpartpicker. Just went over to change my motherboard choice to the MSI 550-A Pro...turns out that is the one I had already selected! LOL. Good for me I guess.
Nice vid, feels weird to review the tuf x570 plus (wifi) and not the pro (wifi) when the pro comes with a ton of features you said you would've preferred to see for only $30 more (2.5 gig lan, wifi 6, bios flashback, a bitter vrm heatsink, more USB slots and headers). To me that sounds like an awesome deal and it addresses a bunch of the things you said were downsides that the board didn't have in the review. I know seeing $2__ price wise can be a bit of a mental block for a lot of customers even when its only $30 more than the plus model. Its also possible that I'm trying to defend my purchase a little, and I admittedly don't know much about mobos in general. So maybe at that price point theres something way better, (people seem to love the tomahawk at that price point) but from my limited research if you can swing the $30 the features you get for upgrading to the tuf pro over the tuf plus are massive.

@@houserspeed Yea I just watched the relevant parts of that video and he had pretty high praise for the pro version, which makes it even weirder he talked about the plus instead in this vid. Maybe this one was filmed before the other and his opinion improved after looking closer at the pro? Not sure tbh but its definitely a weird omission

I don't have the exact timestamp unfortunately, but I believe his reasoning was that, well, $30 is $30 more and at that point a different motherboard makes more sense. Especially since this is a condensed list of motherboards, and each makes the most sense _given its specific price range_. A board $30 more expensive is not the same price range.

I'm surprised you have not included the MSI X570 Tomahawk in this list (and including a couple of ASROCK X570s which you yourself don't seem impressed with!). For all its faults that MSI has as a company, the tomahawk is a solid motherboard with a pretty reasonable MSRP

Yeah, the MSI X570 Tomahawk Wifi is a great board. Had the X570 TUF Wifi before, i like the Tomahawk way more. Same price (atleast where I am at), but Wifi 6, internal USB-C header...
Too much generalized overclocking information. If the overclocking information is directly relevant to the motherboard include that information. If its NOT relevant don't include it. Generalized OC info (i.e. lecturing) is not appreciated and makes it very difficult to follow what you are recommending and why.
This is quite confusing since some of your earlier X570 mobo reviews highlight different models such as the MSI Tomahawk and the Gigabyte Aorus Master. How is the AsRock Taichi better than the Aorus Master? It would help if the video made comparisons since it is about the "best motherboards".
This is more "Best budget boards" video. I've managed to get 4533MHz on RAM with Aorus Master x570 with just XMP enabled (Teamgroup 4500 8Pack RAM), I would like to see that on Taichi, not sure would it even boot with those speeds. Too bad one RAM module came DOA so I had to RMA it. Could not wait for replacement, so I bought cheap Ballistix 3600 CL 16 and also is working great (54k+ read, close to 54k+ write, 60.5 ns with just XMP, still not tuned fine, CPU is 5900x). I have decided to take Master based on his reviews and because of amazing connectivity, so far I am not sorry. BIOS is still not in best state IMHO, my Voltages were touching 1.5V too often for my taste and temps were a bit high (86C in COD), so I put VCore -0.1 offset, and now all is good, performance is the same, voltages are going to 1.388 mostly, 1.416 highest I have seen, temps went down 10C on max load (using COD for testing, because it gives me highest temps, higher than any bench, so if it is good there then everything is good, plus that is real life scenario, tested it wit 4 hrs gaming session SP with maxed settings, max temp was 79C and that was just 1 sec spike, average is 75C, no crashes). CPU is boosting to 4950.
i cant comment on OC on those MB as i knew that the Zen go up very poorly so is not a characteristic i analyzed choosing MB and this is probably the first time i dont do daily OC in decades, the Aorus Master is better overall in characteristics BUT cost more way more than taichi, but both offer the same connectivity so going for gaming make sense choosing the cheaper option. Thou im surprised he dont mention the Steel legend as its the same as the taichi but with striped/traded stuff...
This is a condensed list of only the most critical price points and boards. Many others are good, but then it'd just be basically "all AMD motherboards."

The OC Switcher on it to me is a total game changer. Der8auer is the only one I know who made a video on it. I luckily got notified from Newegg Canada of stock and should hopefully have a dark hero in possession in a few days. I know the vast majority of consumers wouldn't care about such a feature, but to me it's like a dream come true lol. Now, getting a 5900x to put in the damn thing is a whole other story.
I think in this case he's looking at price point as well as performance, with gaming and content creation in mind. For example, if you don't need extra SATA ports, but you want to have Wifi 6 onboard, and really good VRM, and you like the looks, then the X570 Tomahawk is really nice, especially if it goes on sale.
If I remember correctly he said during the stream that he doesn't get why people buy the x570 tomahawk because most expensive b550 boards have better vrms so the only advantage is chipset pcie 3.0 vs 4.0
@@cab9191 I got my X570 Tomahawk on sale, and the TUF Pro is also on sale in my local shop right now. I'm just gonna save my time and trouble and stick with the MSI board I already have. It's got 1220 audio vs. TUF Pro's 1200, if that matters to people - it's a small bonus for me. They're both around the same price anyways, and neither is cheap.
I also got that. So far it's been great. I did however notice a small inaccuracy in the video. Bz said that you can't use all the m.2 slots and all the SATA ports at the same time, which is true for most motherboards, but Asrock disables the bottom the PCIE slot when the M2_3 is used, instead of some of the SATA ports.
@@Szioul one thing threw me off my mobo came without bios update for Ryzen Gen 4 luckily I still had my old 3600 so I updated the bios, otherwise I would be a bit screwed
@@OniOfficial7 You don't need a CPU to update the bios on X570 Taichi. I was able to use the Bios flashback procedure on mine with no problem. had no issues posting with a 5800x

Just bought the GN Bar Mat. I couldn’t be happier with it!!! The quality was understated. The design is awesome and the rubber works great at keeping it from moving on a surface. Cant wait to buy a mousepad!
Der8auer really likes it. He is of course an ASUS partner so take that as what you will. I also have one on order. I will never argue the board is in any way cost effective but I also can't imagine it not doing everything I need it to especially with the OC switching. I actually swap between single theaded and multi threaded workloads constsntly all day for work so the OC switching is something I really, really wanted.

Huh, I looked into the Aorus pro V2 and there were a lot of people reporting problems specifically with memory overclocking. They couldn't get it to post consistently. It would work fine and then it wouldn't upon the second boot. Also, the more they pushed the memory overclocks, the less the USB ports would work. XMP also appears to have the same exact problems. What's funny is that this has been a problem I read on the x470 boards, other x570 boards, and mirrors the exact problem I had on an Aorus x370 gaming k5. I don't think I can ever trust a gigabyte board again.
I would like you to take a look into the Gigabyte Aorus X570 Master board issue of how a lot of owners are having a nightmare issue with there Pc's suddenly not powering on anymore requiring them to have to remove the Mobo battery and then place it back to get it power up. There are quite a lot of users on the forums who have this issue from launch day onwards and still to this day. Gigabyte have been made aware of this through numerous tickets sent and have done nothing. I think if Big tech channels look into and talk about it ie put a spot light on it then this could not only let future PC users avoid this happening to them but also possibly force Gigabyte into acknowledging the serious issue and do something about it.
Well its the same chips, and its asus. So really good. But in what parts it shines most im not quite 100% sure however i have mine with and 3600x and im very happy with the overclock i achieved. And my gfx 2060 i cud overclock 7% more than my old msi mortar 550 so im really happy i changed. But id go with ROG over these boards any day if u have the wallet :)
I got the Asus TUF X570 Plus Wifi mobo before ever seeing this video. Glad to see my choice made the list. One thing buyers of it should know is that, while it has 2 3-pin RGB headers, they both suck. More than half of the aRGB equipped items I plug in either don't work at all or don't work properly. Also, mine shipped with a BIOS that had a laughably bad flaw, you must turn WiFi off internally before you can use it. New BIOS update fixed the WiFi nonsense but not the aRGB 3-pin voltage issue.
Thanks for another awesome video. But now I am more torn about what mobo to get... I really like the recommendation on the B550 Aorus Pro and it sounds like an excellent option, but I feel like I should be getting a X570 board, and don't like the recommendations for those! This is for a 5900X system that will be moderately overclocked (hopefully).

I just changed one of my house systems from an X570 Aorus Elite (purchased at 3000 series launch) with a B550 Aorus Pro AC. In my experience on a 3900X, the memory handling on the Elite was scuffed. . . Hynix, Micron, and B-die were all significantly underperforming and a wrestling match. XMP profiles would not work on the system when the same RAM was fine on supposedly "much lesser" boards. BIOS updates over time improved things a bit, but it was a sigh of relief swapping to the new board.

@@noodlefart1029384756 I ended up shuffling my Elite into a build that I sold off with a Ryzen 5800X. I crossed my fingers and put "loot box" 16x2 3600 CL18 RAM on board with the latest BIOS hoping the 5000 series might have inherently better memory handling and be less problematic. I did not push it further than that 3600mhz XMP. It was stable, the buyer was not a RAM tweaker (neither am I really), and that's the last I saw of that board. For practical purposes, it was perfectly fine. For pushing B-die, it was frustrating and disappointing.

ASUS ROG Crosshair Hero VIII is one of the best motherboards I have used. (ATX)
I was able to grab a ASUS ROG Crosshair Dark Hero this month, but one of the selling points besides dynamic OC is no X570 chipset fan.
Sadly the MSI X570 Unify didn't make the cut. The no-RGB board should have been a staff favourite ;)
Really need a late 2021 update of this list. Hard to find any other channel that I'm confident they know what they're talking about.

Yeah, but the results are pretty much very obvious already. I believe Scythe claims a 15% improvement on a particular aspect, and some other test results have put it a few degrees cooler than the original FUMA, which beats the Mugen 5 by a degree or two, but still loses to the NH-D15 by a degree or two, while everything else is about the same as the original FUMA. I think pretty much everything has been kept the same or similar, with the exception of a cut on the fins to offer more RAM clearance. RRP is $60, which isn't bad, but the original FUMA went as low as $40+ at one point if I remember correctly, which made it better value when both were being sold, although that is no longer sold now and the FUMA 2 is costing way more and definitely should not be bought. If anything, Mugen 5 is the go to cooler now, as it's being sold at $47 only at the time of writing this, which is probably the best cooler deal right now, while the Freezer 34 eSports DUO is $50 right now, which is an equally as good deal.

I wish you would have talked more about the PCI-E lane compromises each of the B550 boards makes. They may have multiple x16-sized slots and multiple m.2 slots, and multiple SATA ports, but they can never all be used in the same system due to the limit on the number of PCIe lanes in B500. For example, the Aorus Pro v2 will disable the PCIEx4 slot if there is a second m.2 drive (as will the B550M Mortar, which seems like a huge limitation for an MATX board, essentially rendering it an ITX board only inconveniently larger). Other boards disable SATA ports, or limit the second m.2 slot to 2 lanes instead of 4, which would halve the theoretical maximum speed.

I bought an X570 Tomahawk 4 months ago (which came under my budget as well) after watching content from Hardware unboxed and also from Buildzoid here on GN. Received my 5900X yesterday.
I agree on the MSI B550-A Pro. I recently build my system with that board and I couldn't be happier. For a board in this price range (and especially considering that I got it for 20 below MSRP) it seems to have a really good VRM configuration. I actually specifically choose the B550-A Pro due to this after watching the VRM tests Hardware Unboxed did on a huge range of B550 Boards in their B550 Roundup a few month back and the B550-A Pro could hold up in terms of VRM Performance with boards that where like double the price.
I have to agree with you about USB ports on the rear I/O; I'm a sucker for them - the more the better in my books - and that's the main reason I went for an ASUS Crosshair motherboard (11+ USB ports on the rear I/O).
The fact that it has a Restart/ Start, Debug LED, are just an added bonus.

There are a lot of reports of USB issues with B550/X570 boards. This seems to happen across manufacturers, operating systems, and CPU models. There are too-many-to-mention homebrew solutions, which work for some users but others. It would be amazing if you guys could do a deep dive on it, the discussions online are all over the place!

X570 Tomahawk > X570 TUF Gaming Plus
I'm running Ryzen 5950x on Asus x570-F Gaming on beta BIOS lol but it works great. Using Samsung 980 Pro 1Tb on which I get advertised speed with temps ranging from 45-67°C. CPU boosts over 5Ghz, RAM is running on advertised 3466Mhz, no problems, super stable. 3090 is working great with it, playing Cyberpunk on Ultra, DLSS quality, 1440p @ 75-90 fps. Asus really did a good job. M.2 slots have full metal heatsinks with thermal pads connected to the chipset cooler. BIOS versions and driver updates are coming out often. I love the mobo.

@@ProfessorPhysics2 I have the older regular Crosshair 8 Hero Wifi which has the same amount of USB ports, and as someone with a CV1 Rift, sim racing setup, and way too many RGB peripherals it's perfect. I also love that all of the rear USB ports are USB 3.1 or 3.2, it boggles my mind that manufacturers are still putting as many as four USB 2.0 ports on new $200+ motherboards.

Well... I got 6 SATA ports in my PC built in 2015 and I had to disconnect DVD drive cause I ran out of SATA ports. That's because my M.2 drive is actually running on two SATA III lines, so I got only 4 SATA III ports left after connecting 1TB NVME drive. When I got the PC, I had 250GB SSD for OS and 1TB HDD for everything else. Later on I bought 500GB SSD for video games and apps, but games are getting bigger and I record some video games footage, got some assets for Unity and UE4, so it takes space. So then I bought the mentioned 1TB NVME SSD and 3TB HDD. This way I got 2 SSDs and 2 HDDs connected to SATA ports + NVME that takes other two ports. DVD drive not connected and it comes useful at times, but I got another old PC to not open (literally) this one when I need to copy some old stuff from DVDs or even CDs. 6 SATA ports will be just enough when I upgrade, if M.2 drives won't eat SATA ports.

I too was a normie till I started watching BZ videos about memory overclocking and learned that the reason why I couldn’t even run my memory with xmp settings was because of me mobo topology, did what he recommended which was to populate all four memory slots and pam my memory now runs at 4133 MHz at cl17.
I'm actively looking for USB-C on anything I buy these days. To me it just makes sense to do that. I also bought a USB cable with USB-A on one end and USB-C on the other for my older devices. That makes it easy without needing to add an adapter to the mix.

Just went over to change my motherboard choice to the MSI 550-A Pro...turns out that is the one I had already selected! LOL. Good for me I guess.
Nice vid, feels weird to review the tuf x570 plus (wifi) and not the pro (wifi) when the pro comes with a ton of features you said you would've preferred to see for only $30 more (2.5 gig lan, wifi 6, bios flashback, a bitter vrm heatsink, more USB slots and headers). To me that sounds like an awesome deal and it addresses a bunch of the things you said were downsides that the board didn't have in the review. I know seeing $2__ price wise can be a bit of a mental block for a lot of customers even when its only $30 more than the plus model.
Its also possible that I'm trying to defend my purchase a little, and I admittedly don't know much about mobos in general. So maybe at that price point theres something way better, (people seem to love the tomahawk at that price point) but from my limited research if you can swing the $30 the features you get for upgrading to the tuf pro over the tuf plus are massive.
I'm interested to hear from people with more knowledge and experience too since I've been eyeing the tuf x570 pro wifi.

I don't have the exact timestamp unfortunately, but I believe his reasoning was that, well, $30 is $30 more and at that point a different motherboard makes more sense. Especially since this is a condensed list of motherboards, and each makes the most sense _given its specific price range_. A board $30 more expensive is not the same price range.

Too much generalized overclocking information. If the overclocking information is directly relevant to the motherboard include that information. If its NOT relevant don't include it. Generalized OC info (i.e. lecturing) is not appreciated and makes it very difficult to follow what you are recommending and why.

This is quite confusing since some of your earlier X570 mobo reviews highlight different models such as the MSI Tomahawk and the Gigabyte Aorus Master. How is the AsRock Taichi better than the Aorus Master? It would help if the video made comparisons since it is about the "best motherboards".

I've managed to get 4533MHz on RAM with Aorus Master x570 with just XMP enabled (Teamgroup 4500 8Pack RAM), I would like to see that on Taichi, not sure would it even boot with those speeds.
Too bad one RAM module came DOA so I had to RMA it. Could not wait for replacement, so I bought cheap Ballistix 3600 CL 16 and also is working great (54k+ read, close to 54k+ write, 60.5 ns with just XMP, still not tuned fine, CPU is 5900x). I have decided to take Master based on his reviews and because of amazing connectivity, so far I am not sorry.
BIOS is still not in best state IMHO, my Voltages were touching 1.5V too often for my taste and temps were a bit high (86C in COD), so I put VCore -0.1 offset, and now all is good, performance is the same, voltages are going to 1.388 mostly, 1.416 highest I have seen, temps went down 10C on max load (using COD for testing, because it gives me highest temps, higher than any bench, so if it is good there then everything is good, plus that is real life scenario, tested it wit 4 hrs gaming session SP with maxed settings, max temp was 79C and that was just 1 sec spike, average is 75C, no crashes). CPU is boosting to 4950.

i cant comment on OC on those MB as i knew that the Zen go up very poorly so is not a characteristic i analyzed choosing MB and this is probably the first time i dont do daily OC in decades, the Aorus Master is better overall in characteristics BUT cost more way more than taichi, but both offer the same connectivity so going for gaming make sense choosing the cheaper option.
Thou im surprised he dont mention the Steel legend as its the same as the taichi but with striped/traded stuff...

Note the TUF Gaming x570 wifi does NOT have bios flashback, you require a past generation CPU to update the bios in order to use it.

The OC Switcher on it to me is a total game changer. Der8auer is the only one I know who made a video on it. I luckily got notified from Newegg Canada of stock and should hopefully have a dark hero in possession in a few days. I know the vast majority of consumers wouldn't care about such a feature, but to me it's like a dream come true lol.
Now, getting a 5900x to put in the damn thing is a whole other story.

Have a tomahawk x570 wifi paired with 5800x. Only issue is that ryzen master does not seem to show cpu core data. Everything else looks fine
I think in this case he's looking at price point as well as performance, with gaming and content creation in mind. For example, if you don't need extra SATA ports, but you want to have Wifi 6 onboard, and really good VRM, and you like the looks, then the X570 Tomahawk is really nice, especially if it goes on sale.
If I remember correctly he said during the stream that he doesn't get why people buy the x570 tomahawk because most expensive b550 boards have better vrms so the only advantage is chipset pcie 3.0 vs 4.0

I'm just gonna save my time and trouble and stick with the MSI board I already have. It's got 1220 audio vs. TUF Pro's 1200, if that matters to people - it's a small bonus for me.
They're both around the same price anyways, and neither is cheap.
I picked x570 taichi as i heard a lot of good things about it, glad it made the list
I also got that. So far it's been great. I did however notice a small inaccuracy in the video. Bz said that you can't use all the m.2 slots and all the SATA ports at the same time, which is true for most motherboards, but Asrock disables the bottom the PCIE slot when the M2_3 is used, instead of some of the SATA ports.

Huh, I looked into the Aorus pro V2 and there were a lot of people reporting problems specifically with memory overclocking. They couldn't get it to post consistently. It would work fine and then it wouldn't upon the second boot. Also, the more they pushed the memory overclocks, the less the USB ports would work. XMP also appears to have the same exact problems. What's funny is that this has been a problem I read on the x470 boards, other x570 boards, and mirrors the exact problem I had on an Aorus x370 gaming k5. I don't think I can ever trust a gigabyte board again.
I would like you to take a look into the Gigabyte Aorus X570 Master board issue of how a lot of owners are having a nightmare issue with there Pc's suddenly not powering on anymore requiring them to have to remove the Mobo battery and then place it back to get it power up.
There are quite a lot of users on the forums who have this issue from launch day onwards and still to this day.
Gigabyte have been made aware of this through numerous tickets sent and have done nothing.
I think if Big tech channels look into and talk about it ie put a spot light on it then this could not only let future PC users avoid this happening to them but also possibly force Gigabyte into acknowledging the serious issue and do something about it.

Well its the same chips, and its asus. So really good. But in what parts it shines most im not quite 100% sure however i have mine with and 3600x and im very happy with the overclock i achieved. And my gfx 2060 i cud overclock 7% more than my old msi mortar 550 so im really happy i changed. But id go with ROG over these boards any day if u have the wallet :)

I got the Asus TUF X570 Plus Wifi mobo before ever seeing this video. Glad to see my choice made the list. One thing buyers of it should know is that, while it has 2 3-pin RGB headers, they both suck. More than half of the aRGB equipped items I plug in either don't work at all or don't work properly. Also, mine shipped with a BIOS that had a laughably bad flaw, you must turn WiFi off internally before you can use it. New BIOS update fixed the WiFi nonsense but not the aRGB 3-pin voltage issue.

Thanks for another awesome video. But now I am more torn about what mobo to get... I really like the recommendation on the B550 Aorus Pro and it sounds like an excellent option, but I feel like I should be getting a X570 board, and don't like the recommendations for those! This is for a 5900X system that will be moderately overclocked (hopefully).
Im wondering with what motherboard did you end up cause im interested for the same cpu!
@@Dimitrovitsm B550 Aorus Pro, V1 because V2 couldn't be found anywhere. I am happy with it. BIOS updates have been good.

@@steveburke3 phew that's encouraging, cause i have seen that its the best b550 board and it better than some x570 boards and the only thing that kept me off was those horror stories about drivers and usbs

The x570 elite imo doesn't make much sense now that the B550 pro exists
I just changed one of my house systems from an X570 Aorus Elite (purchased at 3000 series launch) with a B550 Aorus Pro AC. In my experience on a 3900X, the memory handling on the Elite was scuffed. . . Hynix, Micron, and B-die were all significantly underperforming and a wrestling match. XMP profiles would not work on the system when the same RAM was fine on supposedly "much lesser" boards. BIOS updates over time improved things a bit, but it was a sigh of relief swapping to the new board.

@@noodlefart1029384756 I ended up shuffling my Elite into a build that I sold off with a Ryzen 5800X. I crossed my fingers and put "loot box" 16x2 3600 CL18 RAM on board with the latest BIOS hoping the 5000 series might have inherently better memory handling and be less problematic. I did not push it further than that 3600mhz XMP. It was stable, the buyer was not a RAM tweaker (neither am I really), and that's the last I saw of that board. For practical purposes, it was perfectly fine. For pushing B-die, it was frustrating and disappointing.
