    I was completely obsessed with this song when the album was released. Haven't heard it in a while, but I still really like it. The live version with Morten on drums was great!

    Had seen them performing this live in LOndon Wembley Nov.2010..Brilliant farewell gig.I remember my wife was impressed on how handsome Morten also was in real.THey sounded great and Morten was indeed a real charmer .I later bought a similarly turquoised coloured tight shirt he was wearing that night,lol.

    Great opener of that good album.There are 2 great synths bangers that you haven't reacted from their debut album 'Hunting high and Low'.."The Blue Sky' and "Dream my self alive'.

    Agree.
    This song is crying out for an extended mix, to develop from the instrumental outtro.
    It could be so much more than just an album opener, enjoyable that album certainly was in 2010.

    Great to have you back with a-ha. You should check out "The blood that moves the body" and "You are the one".

    Thank you!!! I love this song!
    It's absolutely fantastic! It's magic at concerts. The synth riff is the chorus - and that's genius!
    😊❤🎵🇳🇴

    This song shows perfectly what a synth can do with modern recording technology.
    A very fun and uplifting song :)

    There are a few A HA songs who are bad or false. This one is very good. Let's go!

    Hi Derek welcome back to the soundtrack of my life. I have been an A-HA fan for the past 37 years and they never fail to disappoint . It’s been a while since you reacted to them so thankyou for reacting to the bandstand. I’m sure your going to enjoy this one. Take care and thankyou again 😘 ❤️🇳🇴❤️A-HA FOREVER ❤️🇳🇴❤️ 🎸🎹🎤🥁 🥇🥇🥇 🫠🥰

    Very interesting track, one of their most underrated. Is in my 'ringtone rotation' with "Starlight", "Parklife", Andreas Johnson's "Glorious" and Tito Santana's 1980s WWF theme.

    Your taste in a-ha’s music appears to be remarkably similar to mine. Allow me to suggest «The Soft Rains of April» - the final track of the Scoundrel Days album. It’s a masterpiece - and right up your alley! Trust me😊

    It’s kind of weird how people hear songs, this ain’t the first time Derek has listened to a great a-ha track and thought it was meh. Well at least he is being honest in his own opinion even if 99.9 per cent of a-ha fans are thinking WTF !

  • @slash21233
    @slash21233 ปีที่แล้ว

    The thing is: in 2010 they were back to synths but not to the way synth was used in the 80s.

    Derek... You need to review Take on Me MTV unplugged that they did a few years ago. You will not be disappointed.

    I love, love, love this track Dereck…and although I respect your view I cannot agree that it’s lacking anything or is in any way a track to skip…anyway it’s the first one on the album (Foot Of The Mountain), and a brilliant opener to it, so that would be a real mistake to make in my opinion…

    "Stay on these roads" is their best song!

    • @alisonscott1469
      @alisonscott1469 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Stay on these roads is a good song but I would say it’s their best song. A-HA have hundreds of songs better than stay on these roads eg summer moved on, minor earth major sky, the sun always shines on tv, manhattan skyline, ive been losing you, hunting high and low, forever not yours, the company man, sycamore leaves etc etc etc. take care 😘 ❤️🇳🇴❤️A-HA FOREVER❤️🇳🇴❤️ 🎸🎹🎤 🥇🥇🥇

    Not every song can be a hit single but it fits in as an album track totally fine. I love that song, as you know what comes in the ending. You wouldn't have $€× if the climax happened at the beginning already 😜
