Had seen them performing this live in LOndon Wembley Nov.2010..Brilliant farewell gig.I remember my wife was impressed on how handsome Morten also was in real.THey sounded great and Morten was indeed a real charmer .I later bought a similarly turquoised coloured tight shirt he was wearing that night,lol.
Great opener of that good album.There are 2 great synths bangers that you haven't reacted from their debut album 'Hunting high and Low'.."The Blue Sky' and "Dream my self alive'.
Agree. This song is crying out for an extended mix, to develop from the instrumental outtro. It could be so much more than just an album opener, enjoyable that album certainly was in 2010.

It’s kind of weird how people hear songs, this ain’t the first time Derek has listened to a great a-ha track and thought it was meh. Well at least he is being honest in his own opinion even if 99.9 per cent of a-ha fans are thinking WTF !

Stay on these roads is a good song but I would say it’s their best song. Not every song can be a hit single but it fits in as an album track totally fine. I love that song, as you know what comes in the ending. You wouldn't have $€× if the climax happened at the beginning already 😜

The thing is: in 2010 they were back to synths but not to the way synth was used in the 80s.
Derek... You need to review Take on Me MTV unplugged that they did a few years ago. You will not be disappointed.
