Hi guys, entertaining video as always ... I too had a vinyl purge in the 90's and went over to cds as the hard to find stuff was easier to find and cheaper! The Electric Prunes track Kyrie Eleison was featured in Easy Rider and through that I bought the Mass album in the 70's on the midi label. The Seeds are another favourite and have that distinctive garage keyboard sound. Also, apart from the top tier psych bands, check out the first two Country Joe and the Fish and Ultimate Spinach albums and the bands Mad River, H.P. Lovecraft, Iron Butterfly, West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, The Wizards of Kansas ... to name a few!
Nice video! Pushing Too Hard by The Seeds is a great song. I first heard it (along with the song I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night by The Electric Prunes) on the Nuggets compilation record many moons ago. That comp was an amazing introduction for me into the world of 60s US garage and pysch!
The Prunes "Long Days Flight" album is a comp LP, as is "Lost Dreams", which featured unreleased/alt versions. Mass In F-Minor was released by a later/studio musicians? version of the Prunes. The Beacon Street Union were from Boston, part of what was known as the "Boss-town Sound", as MGM hunted down for Boston/East Coast psych bands to "jump on the psychedelic bandwagon". The Seed were an L.A. band, with loads of fuzz n' plinky keyboards.
I heard that the church chant electric prunes album wasn't even the prunes a Vancouver Canada group called the collectors who were also on reprise records were used to finish the prunes contract. The collectors later became a group called Chilliwack, with many hits. The collectors had 2 psychedelic hits Lydia Purple and Look at a baby
The first Moby Grape album is the classic psyche one. Its full of fast psyche country pop, and its my favourite of theirs. Unfortunately, due to record company blunder, the album received little attention and the band's commercial appeal nose dived. They limped on to the early 70s and then through in the towel.
From one old Dave to another, thanks guys! Love seeing what you two are listening to ✌️🤘

Always love the discussion. I could never afford albums. We were poor. Im trying to catch up now. So they are many reissues in my collection.

The Seeds is more garage rock than psych.
Switch the bloody light on.
