WOW GUYS!!! You're in Record Collector Mag, fantastic. I'll have to wait 2 months to pick up my copy as Australia doesn't get them on our newsstands until some time later, but I can't wait. We all love Poppa Dave, thanks for showing your 'current' top 10 vinyls!
Congrats! Wow, very cool cover on Record Collector, “my boys!” That is the very image of the Beatles that was shown to me at eight years old during the 1970s when my sister’s friend pointed to each member and told me their names
Excellent entertainment for us vinyl lovers. Nice of Dave to share the memories of meeting Arthur Love and Jimmy Page. At some point it would be great for you guys to run off an overview of a classic album of the week. I’m going to catch up with your RC feature now.
Always buy RC and was really pleased to see you both featured..cracking article and a great reward for your channel too...keep up the good work chaps 👍
Hello Guys.I just subscribed to your channel, I have watched many of your videos and have throughly enjoyed them. Congratulations to you regarding being featured in the March 2024 Record Collector Magazine. Thanks for sharing some of your cool collection Dave. Cheers, Bruce
The protective cover of that King Crimson album looks Iike it might be pvc and leeching, the rippling is a sign. I could be wrong but it looks like it. If it is I'd throw it away asap and go through the entire collection and do the same Not sure if you're aware of the damage pvc covers do to records.
Great stuff guys. Fame at last! I remember Dave picking up a copy of the Pretties-Parachute. One of my all time favs. Love to know what Dave's opinion is on this and the various re-issues plus USA issues as well. Cheers me dears.....
dave we want dave more dave dave dave dave lol love the duo still awaiting to see a ft from his son / your dad ;) if hes still with us x manhug love your chan dudesss
Great top 10 albums Dave . I'm not a regular buyer of Record Collector, i only tend to buy it if it has enough in it that interests me that month but i will certainly buy this month's seeing you guys are featured in it, great stuff and well done, you are fastly approaching celebrity status hahaha.
Hi, be careful of the protective sleeve that start bubbling/disforming as this could be out-gassing. If it is this could stick to the cover or, even worse the vinyl and ruin them
Dave is the man , who can say they drove Jimmy Page anywhere ? Fantastic story . Would like to see the old fellas Magnum collection . Cheers from downunder 🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘
Awesome. I do remember Dave trying to get top opening The Beatles - Self Titled. He seems to love their Self Titled album alot. I love myself some Led Zeppelin too :))
RIP Finn (of Menace), I also knew him very well as I played in a couple of his bands and I also supplied stock to that record shop you referenced. He was among the first people I ever met in London on moving here; he kind of knew everyone in the Camden music scene!
apparently there are 2 different mixes of the white album. George Harrison demanded it be remixed when he heard the original mix. these copies are extremely rare as you would expect!
He tells a lot of his stories over on our fan club page! We actually very recently visited the Marquee for a video in our new series "Poppa Dave's Old Haunts". We visited 10 of his old haunts from throughout his life (Marquee being one) and he told the story of each one. It sounds like you'd really like the videos we've been doing over there, here's a link if you'd like to check it out 😊 www.patreon.com/thevinylhunters
I saw The Doors with Ian Astbury and it was great. I met John Densmore on his book tour at Fredonia. He said The Doors movie was 90 percent fiction and if there were any naked women on stage in Miami with them he wish he was there to see it lol lol lol
Some excellent top picks. Though noticed Poppa Dave's 'King Crimson' LP was sleeved w that nasty PVC vinyl sleeve (an eventual vinyl killer). Might be aware of by now, but the gasses from PVC outer sleeves will over time, seep into the vinyl ruining the sound to varying degrees (most picture discs are sleeved in this same material also...). A minty to ex vinyl record can/may sound VG in just a few years of storage...Sometimes you can see a sort of a dull cloudiness on the surface of the vinyl that one might also hear eventually. Just a heads up. Congrats on the mag spread.
Why is the first one always chosen by King Crimson. The albums Red and Starless Bible Black are just as great if not better than the debut album. I have no idea but cool video.
Love your channel guys, and I say this with love... please discard and destroy the protective sleeve that you have on that King Crimson record! It looks like one of those very old thick polythene/PVC plastic sleeves 😢 which have been proved to be damaging to vinyl as they give off a type of gas! This gas reacts with the vinyl record and ruins it. Best wishes 😊
Here is an odd question thats not about records. I notice your gramps wears what looks like an American Class ring that high school kids used to buy . What’s the story with that ring ?
Great question! Poppa Dave has always loved to college college rings. As long as I can remember he has had silver ones, gold ones, ones with red, purple, blue stones, diamond stones, etc. Who knows why, perhaps I'll ask him!
Why, why, WHY???!!! Why do you continue to buy copies of The White Album? You already have "about eleven" which is nine too many! What is the point? ??? No wonder I can't bloody find one! (And that bloke in America who "has thousands" needs a bloody slap!). Do you listen to them all at the same time? Do you even listen to just ONE of them???!

I believe Dave is talking of Ian Astbury, lead singer for The Cult who sang for The Doors of 21st Century.
Thanks fellas🤘 congratulations on getting yourselves in print
Great you remember the things that happened on ur travels..makes record collecting more memorable
Congrats! Wow, very cool cover on Record Collector, “my boys!” That is the very image of the Beatles that was shown to me at eight years old during the 1970s when my sister’s friend pointed to each member and told me their names
13:54 OMG he collects bootlegs as well, yet another layer - it's never ending lol.
This is Arthur Lee *points to Johnny Echols*
Killing it mate

Great to hear Dave's stories, and he has a great taste in music.
Great video. It's good to see the channel grow. Not that it's my place to say, but I don't think you need a backing track.

Is pvc different to sleeves people use normally? It does look warped like it's tightening
@@njwtube
The common outer sleeve that most people use now doesn't react and cause "off gassing" like the old types do
@@crazyprayingmantis5596 yeah I see what you mean it looks rough. I never understood why people keep in shrink-wrap for this same reason.
RC ordered ! 👍🏼 Keep up the good work chaps, enjoy your videos….. I’m a fellow London Cabby too !!!

Poppa Dave needs to tell stories of all the gigs he went to. King Crimson at the Marquee, 1969!
He tells a lot of his stories over on our fan club page! We actually very recently visited the Marquee for a video in our new series "Poppa Dave's Old Haunts". I think you pointed out the wrong guy on the Love Da Capo cover, Arthur is in the ruins! 😅

Nice one Dave. Saw Purple and Zeppelin in 1972 and Purple were better! Both incredible bands of course.
Why is the first one always chosen by King Crimson. The albums Red and Starless Bible Black are just as great if not better than the debut album. I have no idea but cool video.
You've probably seen it, but if you watch a documentary called The Doors Are Open, you'll see footage of The Doors at the Roundhouse.
I went to see Anvil last year in Chester and also missed the last train home.
Hate to say it but Dave is pointing at Johnny Echols of Love i think not Arthur Lee!
While Demolishing a College.
I Saved a Wooden King Crimson (6 Foot .. The Hand) ✌️ Wall Display The Art Department Made 🎉🎉
