- Dave comes across an album that has eluded him since he sold it 30-40 years ago. Ever since he sold it he has been looking to re-acquire a nice copy for a good price. Will he buy his holy grail vinyl record today?

Big thanks to David from The Little Record Shop, Hornsey for having us!: www.cash4recor... - บันเทิง
I am convinced record shop owners are pretty much always serious collectors themselves and will skim / keep the cream of the crop for sure
God bless all record shops, and all vinyl heads! Long may we live!
Right at 6:22, there's a record behind the white album called Hex, by Bark Psychosis. Anyone who sees this give it a listen. It's near impossible to find an affordable copy even as a repress here in the states. Absolutely wonderful record.
Love David the shop owner, we need characters, and they're fast disappearing.
'Incense and Peppermints' was done by the Strawberry Alarm Clock and not the 13th Floor Elevators.
of course dear
I don't have any URIAH HEEP, but these guys certainly love them!
I bought one just because they talk about them so much lol. Great band
As a US guy who loves UK artists and UK pressings, this is pretty awesome. It is too cool to me that the majority of the records in that shop are UK pressings AND that it's no big deal because those are just the pressings the average person over there bought. Over here, finding a UK pressing in a local store is much more exciting. I find them frequently enough, but still.
Wow, cool promo copy of Beggars Opera. I have the US Verve promo 45 of their track Sarabande (that has the same exact version of the song on both sides).
Looks like a great shop,I guess with London having such a rich musical heritage and large population there must be a lot of good stuff around.
That Lords of the Underground album popping out there is a rare classic too. Be thankful you guys haven't got my bug for all genres of music!
So much possitive energy!
This is a top shop 🎉randomly popped in on way home from work. ❤
19:35 I'm pretty sure that's the original bagged Jam The Gift. Love this shop, I got my first US velvet Underground unpeeled banana from there
Glad you returned to my favourite shop, I'm a regular in there and have flicked past that copy of Uriah Keep album - glad it went to a good home!
Hey guys. I am a big fanatic of vinyl collecting and I've decided to subscribe to your channel. It's awesome to see people feel the dedication and passion for music and vinyl as much as others, which is why it's great to see the admiration for doing what you love.
Screaming Trees - Sweet Oblivion is a banger of an LP, it's on my list too. I found a MOV copy of Dust a few years in York, I also own the SST years anthology as well I got dead cheap years ago in Nottingham. That shop looks really cool, my kinda place.
Great video.
It's a truly unique era in music and culture such that you can share these vinyl digging experiences with your grandfather.
I'm a Gen-x-er and trying to imagine what record shopping with my grandfather would've been like when I was in my 20s. I'd be looking at Pixies and Replacements records while he'd be checking out..Xavier Cugat, Al Jolson and Dinah Shore I guess, lol?
When you guys were debating the Mark Lanegan record, I was eyeing the wall record just above it..The Saints' "I'm Stranded".."the most primitive band in the world" (after the Stooges broke up anyway).
Your video just reminded me that I picked up a Iggy Pop Lust for life online for 12.50 a while back. Never examined it properly. Just checked - a mint - 1st press 1st run copy! Nice.
What a great video. Glad you got the album me found been following you for ages now. I think you’re amazing both of you. I really started collecting vinyl again. Some of you passed by. I would’ve collected like zapper you got what you wanted grandad you’re fantastic
I always wondered the relationship between you two, now I know! Give the Big Smoke a kiss for me!
10:34 That was Alchemy by The Third Ear Band - for anyone still wondering.
12:47 Lol, that was Nephilim by Fields of the Nephilim my favourite album ever.. they went past as though it were nothing sigh.
The candy strip l.p. was The Jam. 1st copies had the outer candy sweet bag rapper.. I had it when it first came out! 🤩
there's a 'Helen' who works in second scene records in Watford:)
Storm From the East LP @ 4min 44. Classic classic LP on Moving Shadow
That oooohhhhh got me laughing hard 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Butterfly Elektra label was introduced in the UK in 1971, when Kinney Music (WB) took on the distribution from Polydor. The previous label was red. At £45 the Eclection is probably either a reissue or knackered.
Good deal and a shop I will definitely check out, owner seems a decent guy!
Incense and peppermints was the strawberry alarm clock not the 13 floor elevators
Great Stuff
Some good record shops in Merseyside guys if you're ever up here! Probe, Dig Vinyl and Jacaranda Records in Liverpool city centre, Collect And Survive in Waterloo and Skeleton Records in Birkenhead!
Jake you are the exact double of Duncan Mackay keyboard player with Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel.
(Dave will know who he is)
you need to track down his solo album SCORE with John Wetton.
You might be right! Just had a look
He looks identical to the legendary Brant Bjork of the band Kyuss.
Some very nice hip hop records there on the wall
Can I ask when you guys buy all these second hand records , how many of the records do you find are warped when you get them home and put em on a turntable...and do you keep any of the warped ones or off load them somewhere ? Always wondered that , as I've ended up wiv a few from record fayres that looked OK till they were put on my turntable...kept the slightly warped ones but binned the bad ones...
You skipped over - Junior's Eyes, Johnny Harris, Scott Walker, Hatfield & The North - loads of gems!
Crickey, some of these prices 😮. I need to re value some of my records . 80’s-90’s rock original releases
Very 'Eavy was never released on the Vertigo Spaceship label, neither was Salisbury. Reissues were on Bronze, with their own label but with Island catalogue numbers as they were the distributors.
Angel Witch is a classic UK heavy metal record, definitely worth having. Not wimpy, or too soft. Metallica were big fans. Impressive shop, great owner. If you do fellas ever make it to Leeds come see me at my shop Noiseisforheroes.
Where is your shop? I lived in Leeds for 7 years and never saw it 😮
@@njwtube 75a Great George Street LS1 3BR. If you Google the name Noiseisforheroes Leeds you'll find me.
NWOBHM Band. Great little band, saw them a few times back in the day
That's one of Mark Lanegan's best. And Bubblegum too.
Nice
Back in the day, Angelwitch were actually in the Guinness Book of Records (or some such publication). They were actually the least ever successful UK chart act. They scraped into the "Top 75" for just 1 week. But of course they could console themselves, that many artists never even made the charts...
Wow I never knew that. Angel Witch were one of those New Wave of British Heavy Metal Bands (NWOBHM) that were poised at the beginning with Iron Maiden, Def Leppard etc were really influential.... then just dropped into oblivion.
Think they were from Burnley?🤔
I've got the Uriah Heep somewhere in the loft.
Cindytalk at 4:12!
Third Ear Band, Yeah!
Dave looks like he might have been a Sunday afternoon Roundhouse man back in the day ;-)
They have better stuff in one rack than all the stores by me have together mate
That Mark Lanegan album is his Masterpiece in my opinion.
That Black & White AC/DC 'Powerage' looked interesting. Did you have a peak to see what it was?
12" single from the album
In Leeds, UK, we don't have anything like London record stores.
Noise Is For Heroes is the best shop in Leeds. Cooter who runs it is very knowledgable in most fields but his main thing is Punk. Always good stock in too.
@Paul-rt4ix thanks. I'm looking for new places.
You lads are M.E.N.T.A.L.
Mate, You need that angelwitch album! Its worth it, trust me.
Seconded Angel Witch is essential metal listening
I'm surprised they hadn't heard of the NWOBHM.
@richardcrook2112 bloody posers I reckon!
@@HMWND Lol
The record in the candy-striped bag is "The Gift" by The Jam (their last studio album) - very difficult to find still with the bag as many people threw theirs away.
The gift wrapped record is the gift by the jam the last studio album they did together it has one of the biggest hits town Called malice on that ablum you looking at 50 to 60 pounds for the record
In the gift wrap at
The cheapest.
Having a passion for collecting records is becoming a hobby for the wealthy only these days going by theses prices!
15 years ago you couldn't give this stuff away.
no abo for skipping the postpunk section. the guy earlier pickin up a lush record
Was going to order the magazine but the web site was so poor to use I gave up, sorry guys
48 quid for King Crimson? Soungarden/Uriah Heep 80???? Are you serious? I'd sell mine for 20 each and they're in ex+ conditions but nobody seems interested. Weird.

19:35 Faust - Faust IV maby?
Was thinking the same I thought the same
LOL the Pearl Jam Unplugged album is official. It was released on vinyl on Record Store Day 2019 then released on CD in 2020.
I can’t believe you didn’t pick up Morrison Hotel! Stop asking Dave if it’s a good price or not. He doesn’t think anything is a good price!
He enjoyed the concert as if nothing happened
Nice shop too expensive tho
Am also chasing burn my eyes on yinyl
i Dont Care about Rock or Vinyls or Music as much in general.
but to see 2 Nerds geeking around is super fun.
Hi we’re a decent place off load vinyl got load my dads from 60s and70s I live in west London 🇬🇧👊🏻
ebay
I dont understand why you leave records because the market pricing doesnt suite! You either want it or you dont.
Lots of variables in buying an album and when you add the 'rip off' equation it's little wonder there is a reluctance to buy..however you do have a valid point. If you want it,buy it!
Would have had to have had the Angle witch if it was a original.
Why in the bleeding hell does anyone complain about a record having been cleaned?
Is it a hope that they might pay less for a dirty copy? The mind boggles.
Thirty shillings is one pound fifty pence in new money. Then again the average wage would have been something between fifteen and twenty five pounds per week.An lp would be a major purchase.Singles were attainable to teenagers,so this was the market until the 70's.
Do u like KISS?
I have a small vinyl shop. I would love for it to be full like that but everything keeps selling
Your stock is probably more keenly priced!
I'm sure it's well stocked with Shawaddy Waddy, Stock Aitkin and Waterman artists, and Now That's What I Call Music compilations.
Who is very talented and what for?
How do you not know Angel Witch? debut album is better than Maiden's by far!
Don't know about all that
1:32 aphex twin come to daddy :(:(
I saw Uriah Heep in Vancouver back in the seventies on Halloween night and people in the row ahead of me were passing a lit sparkler from left to right and just as a guy passed it to his girlfriend, a blue coated security guard grabbed her to throw her out of the coliseum, her boyfriend casually said to her "See you later Honey " and gives her a little peck on the cheek and she is devastated as she disappeared for the night and enjoyed the concert as if nothing happened
30 shillings old money is £1.10p new money
When I was a kid a shilling was 5p
@@bdi8541 Same, so it would be £1.50
The motion sickness I get after 20 seconds of each upload…
you have just let EAST OF EDEN Pass by .... why?
Yeah great stuff but most of 'Snafu' is on 'The World of East Of Eden' which can be picked up pretty cheaply
Seriously, why you wasting so much money! Shop is a rip off
