    You're doing very well. So proud of you both. There's an interracial couple in this same situation doing also great and staying positive. What an inspiration !

    Awesome! Both of you must have amazing upper body strength. Some of these tips are good to know if I were ever needing to help someone. I’m glad you say “facing this way or that etc.

    I just happed on your TH-cam page after watching Roll with Cole and Charisma’s channel. (I would definitely recommend watching them. They give tips/how to live life to the fullest after a spinal cord injury). Y’all seem so happy for each other and that’s all you can ever want out of life. Congrats on being married and I know y’all will love each other forever.

    For a C-5 6 quad I’m very impressed on how far you have come with your ability of independence.

    Hey guys! As an occupational therapy student, these videos are so incredibly helpful!!! (way easier to understand than a textbook chapter on transfers!) Thank you so much for making these!

    Yes, I agree with the comment about the interracial couple Cole & Charisma. It’s been 10years since Cole,had his accident in Richmond, Va June of 2011. I’m sure they would love to communicate with you guys. They’re the sweetest & also young. Just like you guys. Praying God will send more reviews & people to your website. Always sweet blessings to the both of you.

      Thank you! I’m hoping the same, there are a lot of exciting medical trials moving into human trials soon so there’s definitely something that will come about some day. It probably won’t ever be perfect, but any help is awesome. Thank you for your well wishes and prayers.

    Hey guys! Lindsay is the best towards Connor. She is constantly watching out for his catheter tube and catheter bag, and helping him after a leg spasm. You guys were meant to be! Can Connor feel his leg spasms - are they relaxing?

    • @JourneywiththeFosters
      @JourneywiththeFosters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lindsay definitely is the best haha. Most of the time my spasms are relaxing, sometimes they aren’t. I can feel my muscles just a tiny bit so a spasm feels like a really needed stretch sometimes. Other times though they can be really intense and jerk my body forward so it can be scary if I transfer and have an intense spasm cause it can throw my balance off.

      @@JourneywiththeFosters Sometimes a spasms can cause your back to arch forward? I bet leg spasms are relaxing once you get into bed and night and want to stretch out or right away after you wake up in the morning.

    I like Lindsay's shirt! I also love the picture hanging above the couch! Is Connor able to feel when that tube and bag is pinched or kinked? Is it just connected to a Condom Catheter?

    • @JourneywiththeFosters
      @JourneywiththeFosters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It’s a suprapubic catheter, so it’s through a surgical incision to reroute through the bladder. So after a while of it being kinked, I get autonomic dysreflexia. A fancy science term for my blood pressure rising as a result of my bladder not being able to drain, it makes me sweaty and uncomfortable so I can definitely tell!

    Try pool noodles from the dollar store. Under the knees, then position, then scotch. Like a parakeet moves along a perch.
    Why fly when you can skootch.
    Wheelchairs should be embarrassed for how little they provide. Raise the seat, extend the board. Voice activate controls.

    So I take it you don't take anything for spasms. Had you ever or no? What about nerve pain? I have terrible nerve pain it makes my legs feel like they're on fire and it feels like intense electricity running through them so I take meds for that. Plus when I would get spasms sometimes it felt like bad muscle cramps not a "relaxing stretch" I wish that's how it felt for me!😏 Everyone's different tho!

    • @JourneywiththeFosters
      @JourneywiththeFosters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes everyone is different. I take baclofen for spasms, it is very helpful and keeps them manageable.
