Journey with the Fosters
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 1 ม.ค. 2022
Hello friends! Connor and Lindsay here👋🏼
We wanted to create this account to share our story, experiences, and journey. We also hope to share challenges and the daily life as an interabled couple to potentially help those going through a similar experience.
A little bit about us: We are highschool sweethearts and got married in November 2021. (Woo newlyweds!) We are both from Texas and went to school at the University of Arkansas.
In June 2020, Connor had a diving accident in a friend’s pool. This resulted in a C5/C6 injury which left him as a quadriplegic. He is paralyzed from the chest down.
Although this was definitely a life changing event, we both make the best of the situation and live life to the fullest! That is what we hope to share with you- our journey. Thank you for following along❤️

Caregiver or carer looks after people sick, disabled etc......... someone who looks after a block of apartments is a caretaker.
Amazing video! Thanks for sharing!
You are blessed to be part of the change. Because of the internet and YT and the ease of posting content and we who access--you are making a positive change. What you need is a consortium. There’s no shortage of spinal cord injured persons. What is needed is tech. If looking for assistive devices, we’re looking for love in all the wrong places, medical supply catalogs don’t have what is needed. Get with gym designers. Invent solutions with them. Slant boards, treadmills are conveyors, overhead bars, pulleys, weights. Where’s the money coming from? Here’s Jeff and Harlan and Elon, let’s ask them. Biden Plan has low cost loans and startup grants. Kickstarter has blown the roof off of several idea plans, like Nebia that saves 70% water -shower head. Looking at various vids, seeing the difficulty people have getting in the shower…it’s maddening. All that effort to get out of a wheelchair into a shower chair….what? Call Fred Flintstone, he’s got a baby dinosaur to help. Why are we putting up with this? It’s first and foremost patient fatigue. Then it’s, will hospitalization cover ? Crowd source. Put the family dog to work, he’d love it. There’s a vid-the dog senses her owner is about to have a seizure. She pulls on the rope attached to the refrigerator handle, open to get her prescription. Gives it to her, goes back to get her a of water. Good dog.
Try pool noodles from the dollar store. Under the knees, then position, then scotch. Like a parakeet moves along a perch. Why fly when you can skootch. Wheelchairs should be embarrassed for how little they provide. Raise the seat, extend the board. Voice activate controls.
💕To CURE a bladder infection without taking any medication you need to drink 100% Pure Cranberry Juice💕It works like magic for every two glasses of Cranberry Juice you drink you have one glass of water then repeat💕During this period you ONLY drink the Cranberry Juice & Water & MUST stay off of any spicy food & drinks containing caffeine💕
Connor, you have a beautiful wife 😊.
I’m curious why they administer so many heavy pain meds with someone who is paralyzed ? Were you feeling pain ?
Good day guys I like watching your video show and I like to help you guys so much because I am a C5 Quabritlegic too and I was just 22 when I have broken my neck and now I am 57 year older now and I am in Perth Western Australia and I like to talk about you guys so much and thank you for your time.😇👨🏭🇦🇺👨🦼🧑🦽🏁👍👍👍
I agee with Mrs. Foster about him walking. I always say anywho...
Very interesting story. Prayers gor both. Please stop saying "anyhoo" though. Please.
Most special thing about TIRR - it’s in Texas! ❤ You shared some embarrassing moments, so I’ll tell you one of mine (I hope it makes you laugh). The first time I was allowed outside rehab on my own (I could use my arms), I managed to run my chair off the edge of the sidewalk and get a wheel stuck between the concrete and the grass. Try as I might, I wasn’t strong enough to muscle the wheel up and out. I knew they’d come looking for me eventually, but it was starting to get cold, so I swallowed my pride, pulled out my cell phone and called the nurse’s station for help. They were a little confused at first because the call came in on an outside line. But they came out and rescued me.
I'm also a C5/C6 quadriplegic and like Connor lost my mom at a very young age. One life changing trauma after another is not easy to deal with. Connor is lucky to have such an amazing and supportive partner. As a 47 year old in a wheelchair for 14 years, I can tell you these traumas don't automatically resolve with time, unless they are gradually untangled with the help of a therapist. Sooner you do it the better. People who go through trauma at a young age, especially related to a close relationship end up being overly nice guys and I can see it in Conno's personality.
wow romantic
Are you still recording?
There fakes
Nice couple Great story
Hi how are you guys Any new vlogs, updates😊 ? Hope everything is well
My husband types with his thumbs too! You all are great together. Loving your videos! ❤️
What a beautiful wedding! I love the theme, decor, the location. Wishing you a lifetime of love, happiness, health, and ease.
❤️❤️🇨🇦
For a C-5 6 quad I’m very impressed on how far you have come with your ability of independence.
As a retired, spinal cord injury nurse of 31 years, I must say you put a lot of work into learning your transfers, and whoever your therapist was had to be awesome. Just a little FYI I was married to a paraplegic T9 for 23 years till he passed away of brain cancer.
Y’all are such a cute couple. I subscribed today
Where are you guys now?
God bless you both. Thank you for sharing your testimony. You both are so precious. 🙏❤

Anywho - it’s you Don’t mind comments about it Don’t change for others
Glad you guys had a nice honeymoon. That was so sweet of your waiter at the BS House to cut your meat for you. Congratulations on becoming parents!!! Sadie is adorable!
Sorry about your accident and hard times. I’m glad you both found God through this. Beautiful bride & handsome groom. Congratulations on your forever marriage!
What is the name of your headphones with the mic you are using?
My dear sweetie couple, I believe it's called a caregiver, I think so 😉
You hit the jackpot 🖖
My friend ended our relationship when I got hurt and had to start using a wheelchair I hope to have a relationship like you have Never knew she was so shallow
I'm just seeing this and hearing this amazing story of survival, courage, and unconditional love. I am deeply moved. My daug broke her neck at 15 yrs old in a freak sporting accident. It was a pure miracle that she narrowly escaped paralysis. It was a scary journey, which took a year and multiple surgeries to fully recover. You are a beautiful couple. I will be following your journey. ❤️
Ya'll are so good together ❤️ My amazing fiancé is a paraplegic and we live 1800 miles apart at the moment but can't wait to marry him. There's no one else that holds a candle to him he's simply the best.
Wow, I did not realize all that goes into transfers. Thanks for sharing.
Do you have healthcare workers come to assist you? Your channel just popped up April 2023. I hope you two are still doing well. ❤
Absolutely without God we have nothing your closeness to God will help both of you be happy
Hey, you two, there's a great beachfront condo you can rent in Maui owned by a guy who lives on the island who is quad. Also found a van rental near airport. Maui is quad friendly. Pool has a chair. Hele ride recommended with Capt. Kirk. He's hysterical. Get him. You'll love it there and it's pretty much affordable. My friend is C6-7, since '84. Lots of us know tricks. Anywho, love ya both.
Very cool to help these guys look into vacation where they both can have a really great time. I traveled a lot when I was younger and actually cried when I left Kauai because it was the most beautiful place I had ever been and something magical happens there to our brains and souls🎉❤
