Another great video, nice to see a few operators like Hull trains in there aswell as the LNER 91's, and the battle of Britain 91 too. Second video with Lumo in too? Hope they develop, great video again m8. Loved the rail tour too with intercity coaches on the class 40
Oh yes! This isn’t a particularly long video but I’m glad I caught all the main operators. I actually recorded a full video at Lincoln Central but I didn’t feel that it was fruitful enough for a video but the 40 clip was just too good to leave out! Glad you enjoyed Inkysquid 😃
Great video, lovely seeing the 80Xs curving round the bend in their many coats, also amazing to see the 91s still out (I better catch them before they go) also nice seeing the 40s out and about
Hi there that was a excellent video off the East Coast Mainline at Retford Station and I was thinking about going along the Mainline to tick off the Stations.
Thanks Xendiac. I try not to focus on the editing too much since I'm pretty sure most of my viewers just want to see the trains! I really liked the old intro but my stats were telling me that most people never even made it past it :(
@@StarlifeStudios Flashy and long intros tend to push away viewers. Shorter intros generally are better, and I think that having your intro after one clip of a train actually works quite well! Personally I think that your shortened intro is much nicer, and while the old intro was nice, it really did feel like it dragged on.
Thanks for your honesty British Trainspotting, I’m glad you came to the same conclusion as me. Putting myself in a viewers shoes, I can completely see why it was a waste of time. As you can probably tell, I am always trialing different content from Videos to Thumbnails. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t!
@@StarlifeStudios You're welcome! I used to have absurdly long intros myself, but I always skipped them when watching my videos, whereas I don't do that with my modern intro. I think that longer or more flashy intros are perhaps more suitable for compilation videos or yearly highlight videos. I have quite liked the improvements you've made to your content over the past few months, and look forward to any future improvements you make!
@@BritishTrainspottingyour very right! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve clicked off a video due to a long intro (wouldn’t do it to starlife’s videos as I know that every video is going to be great!)
I like how you show the train type, the route, and also thr status of the train as it passes through the station, its really awesome!!! Btw what do you use to check the status of trains in the UK, train watch or something ig?
Hi Raad, thanks for your kind comments on the information. I use Real Time Trains for a list of all the trains and then Traksy when at the station. Hope this helps, you have to understand what your looking for to understand some of it though 😃
great video mate some nice captures there and yes prefer the H S Ts /225s ANYTIME nice tractor looke and sounded good . thanks for sharing stay safe syd :)
I can't lie .. I didn't even know this station existed but now looking at the views you can get .. and ofc knowing where it is .. I think in future I might think to have a look around
I've been to both Southend Victoria and Southend Central. At Southend Victoria the Greater Anglia Class 720s are in service and c2c will introduce the Class 720/6 later this year.
Hi Frankie, I would love to although I will have to plan my visit around some special trains since most of the stock between Kettering and Leicester isnt that uncommon. Many thanks for the suggestion.
Never been to Retford. Is LNER keeping the Class 91 Mk4s until next year. As it’s served mainly by LNER and Northern that uses the low level platforms. Will Grand Central and Hull Trains also allow some of their trains to stop at Retford.
Hi Andrew, my understanding of the LNER lease agreement is that the 91s will be staying until at least May 2024. However, I would expect this to be increased further due to no additional Azumas being ordered. Fundamentally, unless LNER reduce their timetable, there will always be need for the 225 sets. Hope this helps :)
What's the line speed through Retford? I keep promising my grandsons I'll take "them" to see some fast trains :-) I live near Chesterfield so I am thinking Retford is the nearest station with anything going near 100mph?
Hi worldfamouslime, my favourite mainline is probably either the West Coast Mainline or the East Coast Mainline. All of the others have their differences but a lot of the variety has been lost due to the recent onset of Hitachi AT300s. CML is an acronym for Chiltern MainLine. Thanks for watching this weeks video 😃
Hi CameraOfTransportN72, I will attempt to soon. I plan to film much more of the South West in 2023 including Eastleigh, Southampton and Portsmouth but these are quite far from my home area. I really appreciate you giving me suggestions though and I definitely want to go there before the 313s disappear. 😃
