Retford where the Flat Crossing with the Great Central route From Manchester and Sheffield to Grimsby and Cleethorpes was eliminated by an underpass in 1965
Debski Huis Thanks very much :) Yeah I wasn't overly keen on filming here from the word go in all honesty but I gave it a try. Think it's one I shall be avoiding from now on
Alex Wilkinson I wasn't overly keen on this station but you can get some good angles at the various ends of the platform I filmed the majority of the video at
Still sound better though. Obviously the Valenta will always be the best for clag and noise but the VP185 engines still produce a good scream when passing by and powering up
+FIFA Gamer The Mainline station didn't offer great vantage points to film from. Plus you are limited to the one platform to film from unless your happy to stand on a station bench like I was towards the end of the film, I haven't looked at the lower half of the station yet, but I know you get a constant flow of freight and Northern Pacer units going to Lincoln from Sheffield and Doncaster.
Great video as always
Great video as ever. There were some great trains there including 91111. But it was a shame you missed your last train home.
Peter Hayton Made for a slightly longer but more enjoyable day :)

i get why you don't like this station, but you still made a gr8 video :)

That lady was wondering why you have a fascination with 91111 at the end
What is the difference between 59 and 66 67 68
If all goes well I will be filming here this Saturday!!

+Tornado922 I didn't get to go to Retford as I missed my connection at Nottingham so I went to Newark Northgate instead!
Alex Wilkinson the better of two stations in my opinion
43295 is MTU engined and 43084 is VP185
The MTU units make a nice sound but nothing beats the scream of a Valenta unit
The EMT hst sets were reengined from a Valenta to a VP185.
Still sound better though. Obviously the Valenta will always be the best for clag and noise but the VP185 engines still produce a good scream when passing by and powering up
GA170208 they are very distinctive :)
Can you do Dumfries please
I can look into it for you
Why do they have a EMT HST on loan to VTEC
They've got it on hire to replace HST sets that go in for refurbishments. They do one at a time.
***** is it for when they get repainted into their red and white virgin livery
Chrissy Collins yes
Why don't you like my home town station
