    The second Class 365 service (1P85) was the final Great Northern service operated by this class to arrive at London Kings Cross. These trains are now withdrawn from service.
    🚄 INFORMATION KEY
    Train Numbers - e.g. 43032 or 800110 - These are train numbers which are specific to that train. No trains can be numbered the same. Locos are 5 digit numbers where the first two numbers are the class of train e.g. 67010 would be a class 67. Multiple Units are 6 digit numbers where the first three numbers are the class of train e.g. 390154 would be a class 390. Click Here to learn more
    ➤ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOPS#TO...
    Headcodes - e.g. 1F32 or 5M00 - These are used by the railway signallers to determine where trains are on the network. Every train within a region has a specific four code ID. Click Here to learn more
    ➤ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Train_r...
    Set Number - e.g. WB64 or NL04 - These are semi-permanent loco hauled coach formations which are kept together for formalities. The first two letters usually indicate the maintenance depot responsible e.g. OC is Old Oak Common, LA is Laira. The number indicates the rake number.

    21 years ago we still remember the Hatfield rail crash! A Great North Eastern Railway (GNER) InterCity 225 train bound for Leeds had left London King's Cross at 12:10, and was travelling along the East Coast Main Line at approximately 115 mph (185 km/h) when it derailed south of Hatfield station at 12:23. The train was in the control of an experienced driver trainer accompanied by a trainee driver. It had been agreed at Kings Cross that the trainee would drive the 12:10 service to Leeds. The primary cause of the accident was later determined to be the left-hand rail fracturing as the train passed over it.
    The train travelled a further 1,000 yards (910 m) after derailment. The leading locomotive and the first two coaches remained upright and on the rails. All of the following coaches and the trailing Driving Van Trailer (DVT) were derailed, and the train set separated into three sections. The restaurant coach, the eighth vehicle in the set, overturned onto its side and struck an overhead line gantry after derailing, resulting in severe damage to the vehicle. The whole incident occurred in 17 seconds.
    Four passengers died in the accident and a further 33 were initially reported as injured, three seriously. The number of injured was later revised to over 70. Those who died were all in the restaurant coach.
    Still always a great Joy to watch these amazing rail video. Thank you 😃

    Hatfield in Hertfordshire, scene of the rail crash many, many years ago. As you look at the track layout, I think the middle two are for the fast trains like Edinburgh and Hull and the outer tracks are the slow/calling stops services, probably as far as Stevenage or Cambridge. Moorgate station is in the City of London, a short walk from Liverpool Street where local trains terminate and depart.

    I miss the 365s it’s a pisstake that they were SCRAPPED, with only two in preservation 🤦🏾‍♂️.. they could’ve been leased to southeastern who already have very similar and identical class 465s/466s.
    The ECML has no variety anymore, just like rest of the UK the trains are all generic class 700/717s, crappy class 387s and the class 800x series which is everywhere.

    • @StarlifeStudios
      @StarlifeStudios  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The 365s were among the youngest of the Networkers to be scrapped. They were scrapped for two reasons: 1- they were no longer required due to COVID, the 387 fleet was sufficient for the non-peak services 2- The age of the fleet was causing issues with spares, the BREL motors are still cause SE issues today. The unfortunate truth is that a fleet of a lot of different units is hard to plan, hard to manage and creates a lot of issues when things go wrong, a uniform fleet is obviously better for the passenger and easier to operate. Thanks for your thoughts.
