My Tips: Use all 35 scholarships in preseason, simply sending them a scholarship will accrue weekly influence, even if you don't assign hours. Max hours every week on your top 5-8 recruits. Don't hard or soft sell UNLESS your school grades combine for 19+ points. Otherwise, recruiting actions are better than selling! If you jump on a player late and you're #6 but you have an up arrow, keep giving max hours unless you lose the arrow and you're not #1. If you're #1 and you go down to #2 after max hours, remove that. Recruit and move on immediately. Even if its like week 7 and you're not on their board, one week of 50 points and youll get on the board. After that, make sure you have an up arrow go continue.
@@PoodleGaming I try to speed run to free up the hours but one thing I've noticed going for recruits in Top Recruits takes waaaayy longer to land guys. It's a grind honestly. I can get commits on week 2-3 just sticking to recommended lol Sure, landing 4-5 stars is nice as a small school but I've found myself going for a Realistic Rebuild where I stick to recommended only. TONs of 3 stars with raw ability but limited development. If you try to build a team with specific archetypes instead of overall, it becomes rather fun.
One of my biggest regrets is scheduling a visit for a 5 star gem RB later in the year because the game had more interest with a win. I was number 1 interest but Georgia was close and had their visit a week before us. He committed to Georgia.
ive found a good recruiting strat is when im all in on recruiting a player say i have 60-65 points on them ill pull back and soft sell them for one week to schedule a visit for the next week if available then just realocate those points the week of their visit. been working really for in my ball state rebuild
A few things I do now that the new update is live 1. The cpu is less aggressive now and spreads points out - you can win battles against Georgia, Bama, Texas, etc if you are built up right 2. maxplayscfb did a YT video on if a hard sell is worth it based on the math - give it a glance 3. If I’m juggernaut mode - I don’t use all 35 because I’ll likely end up cutting some good players on my roster 4. I don’t use the last tree in QB or RB - getting starting interest isn’t as important because if I want them I’ll go hard at them … 5. Look at your schedule (if you can)- I try and get visits in week 5 …as USF I schedule my home game vs UCF around then for bonus visit rivalry …I try and fill in my schedule so I have a good amount of home games mixed in so get my visits
Not going after guys without starting interest in you is only good advice in week 1. Yeah, you probably don’t want to make that guy a top early target since you’re starting at such a disadvantage, but once you start to land your first wave of targets and get those hours back you can absolutely go back to guys you scouted and find guys whose top schools haven’t come after them and kick the tires on jumping up the list. Often it only takes one week to shoot right up into the mix in a guy who has been largely ignored. It helps a lot if you have those guys scouted out.
@@adamseidel9780 I'll target many players where I'm not even top 10, and that's because once I go after a player, I'm giving them 50-80 hours. If you evenly divide your resources amongst like 14 recruits, then yeah, only go after players where you already top 10. But as a school with only 400 hours, I have to be aggressive to get 4 and 5 star players.
In NCAA Football 14, scheduling your visits LATER in the season usually won you the recruiting battle. This is not at all the case in this game. I learned that one the hard way.
Testing this, but when you go for the second wave of recruits who haven’t been offered scholarships, build up interest first and don’t offer right away. Once you offer, other schools take interest and will do the same.

There are also some recruits that the game just decides it doesnt want you to have. Ive had huge leads in top 5 and had guys commit to number 2 randomly without a visit. I got curious and took over that team and removed him from their board. Magically number 3 jumped me for a commit, repeated the drop and number 4 got the commit. Nothing changed and the dealbreaker was not in play. It was the wildest thing ever.
Sometimes it’s all about luck. I have LSU as my dynasty mode team and one year I was able to get 7 of the top 12 prospects. The top 3 prospects two of which were MLB. That’s when I had all my recruiting maxed out. Then I had to start my dynasty all over again bc my file somehow got corrupted. But now while I’m still getting recruits at a high level I’m missing out on one of two top prospects at a position when both were highly interested it’s just one randomly chose another team over me last minute after weeks of me thinking I’m going to land him. I haven’t maxed out my recruiting though which I’m working on it. I have to get another top 5 recruiting class which will be this season then I can get to the next level of recruiting abilities for my coach. But yeah sometimes it’s just luck. You mentioned keeping the player on your board who committed somewhere else and you just missed out. I always take him off my board but I’m going to keep them on now bc like you said about dealbreakers. I had a 5 star DT commit to me then decommit when I had a 4 star DT commit. Since when can you take scholarship off
Always, just hold Y/Triangle when hovering over the player
@PoodleGaming I didn't know taking them off your recruiting board would revoke their scholarship lol I done accidentally gave so many out that I didn't want 🤣 they need to have a confirmation after for the actions
@@wiz6055 Does anyone else have problems with guys committing and signing who you DIDNT offer a scholarship to? I got burned by this one year and ended up having to cut some good players to make room for players I didnt even offer to begin with. Now I know to remove all recruiting time after ive got the guys I want but it still dosnt make sense to me that guys I didnt offer scholarships too can sign with me.
How do you take points off a player ?
Hold Y/Triangle over their action
@@PoodleGaming thanks! I’m an idiot lol
Did they fix the athletes yet?
If you created your dynasty on the cloud setting yes, if you created it on the offline setting you will have to wait until the next update in about 5 weeks
Over recruiting also hinders your recruitment on players as well. I was scouting 4+ RBs and one locked me out until I scouted and removed most of the recruits initially on my board. His lock dropped when it was him and 1 other RB on my board.
I offer 35 to the players I scout and want before the season starts. Goes a long way especially with no hours for small schools. Offer offer offer
I really benefit from Insta-commits, so I prefer only to over a scholarship to recruits that me #1. If I am way back and not going to make the cut or need to schedule the visit, I may offer early, otherwise, waiting a few weeks to get a chance at the instant commit.
@@markreynolds8072what team is your dynasty on? Cause you have to be at a big school like Georgia to get a bunch of insta commits.
@@jkay8itthat’s not true. It’s just more likely
Usually these videos are just telling m things I already know. I’m watching your videos more and more as the advice is sound and on par with what I’m doing. Keep up the good work kid (I’m old)
Glad you like them!
I have yet to see a recruit de commit from me or any cpu school. I’m waiting for it tho
