to achieve the true ending in Lies of P.
Here are the quick and easy steps to do this!
First.
Make sure to Lie throughout the game and listen to all the Records before the ending.
The game will let you know when Pinocchio grows closer to becoming a human.
Second.
You need to find the painting "Portrait of a Boy" in the black Rabbit Brotherhood hideout.
Then hand the painting over to Geppetto afterwards.
Third.
Axe Sophia towards the end of the game when prompted to.
And finally.
After the final boss fight, talk to Geppetto and refuse his request.
Sounds easy?

If your hair not turning blue after absorbing Sophia's ergo, congrats you not gonna get the true ending

You actually still get the ending. As long as you give peace to Sophia and refuse to give your heart to Geppetto you will still get the Rise Of P ending.
@@clementcf6034 you need to get the grey hair or if you’re on ng+ you need the phrase “your heart is pounding” when you tell a lie or gain humanity points.
I got the neutral ending from doing those things
You only have to give Sophia peace an refuse to give the heart, you don't need to lie, you have to become human for the Golden Lie Weapon not for the Endings. Same for the Free from the Puppets String ending, only let Sophia life and refuse to give heart. You don't need to be honest for this ending as well.
Honestly this game is more about empathy and understanding when it’s ok to lie to someone and how music also makes us feel a myriad of different emotions. It’s a wonderful game and I’ve enjoyed it so much ❤
Okay so in game there is a hiddens meter for humanity, telling lies and listening to music also fill it, answering all the kings riddles correctly also build it up. You dont have to lie the whole game just listen to music answer riddles and what not, i was able to complete this meter before fighting Simon
There are 2 "meters" in the game. One is the portrait will grow a nose, and the second better gauge is the cat will purr when you pet it (should you find the cat, that guy roams around a lot)

This was my first ending :) now I'm going to do the puppet one!
I missed rise of P the first time because I figured the true ending would want me to try and find a way to save her instead of killing her.

That scene is pure gold. Seriously.
There is a cat that appears and disappears throughout krats hotel and you can interact with it. If the cat doesn't allow you to pet it then it doesn't recognize you as human. If you're able to pet it and pick it up then you have gained humanity.
You don’t necessarily need to listen to all the records to get the Rise Of P ending (considered the true ending). If you are missing some humanity (hidden stat you get by lying) then you can listen to the records to gain more humanity (also if you want the Golden Lie weapon you should do that). A good way to know if you need more humanity or not by the time you reach Sophia is that when you tell a lie and the ergo is reacting, it should say « You feel warmth ». If you haven’t seen that text yet then you’re definitely lacking humanity and you will most likely don’t get the white hair. Regardless tho, as long as you give peace to Sophia and don’t give your heart to Geppetto you will still get the Rise Of P ending, the true ending.
Plus you get the best weapon in the game also
You need to have high humanity, you don't need to lie every time, but also lie a lot to a weapon that we get if you do that, remember the picture that the nose grows as we lie? then it will turn golden and become a powerful weapon, but to get the true ending you need to receive the message when you hear or read a message, "you feel a heat in your chest" if you talk to sophia in the final stretch of the game the choice in Her dialogue also helps, our hair will turn white or grey, so you will already have the ending guaranteed, just defeat a boss to do so.

The thing is, that you can't listen ALL records in one playthourght.
SPOILERS
After killing sus Alidoro, Eugenia will have some question about him. You can lie or tell her the truth about that guy, and you will get one of the records. That means, that if you lie, then you can't get record for the truth. Same thing if you won't lie.

Lies aren't the key, Sophia ergo, and gaining humanity via choosing the more human response will gain this ending. Also gotta take on the nameless which is a feat in itself

Did it in my first playtrough, isn’t that complicated. The game itself tells you what to do to have this ending, it’s a little obvious and didn’t like that.

He is not Pinocchio. Get your facts right. In fact Pinocchio is never mentioned as a character. The boys name is Carlo

The nameless puppet you fight at the end is geppetto real son who is carlo. You play as the puppet that geppetto created to inadvertently bring his son back to life. Technically you are Pinocchio. No one refers to you as Pinocchio or Carlo either. They refer you to being geppettos puppet.

If you need a guide its a false ending for you because it Completly alters your decision 🤷 just sayin. If you play it forst time not with your own decision you failed the Intention behind beeing able to chose.
That aside i grinded the sh.t out of this game, lied everywhere and got the true ending.
