@@DreamskyDanceidk, I found malenia much harder than any lies of p boss. The bosses in this game really aren’t that hard. I have a response to every move they can do. Sometimes the red thing makes damage borderline unavoidable, but I’ve had much better luck running out of range than trying to perfect parry. It’s too punishing when you get hit by those to justify trying to block
Not a fan of how many bosses with 2 phases there are though, i've gotten used to the combat now and i can kill almost all of them without much trouble but bosses with two phases should be saved for something special.. not overused for artificial difficulty.
@@Kumire_921 yeah, same! I have never liked the idea of context switching mid fight. I am fine with bosses that have a second phase halfway through, as long as that second phase is just an enhancement of the previous move sets. I don’t want a completely different fight. For example, I had no problem whatsoever with the puppet king but got destroyed by phase 2. The puppet king fight was just a long added wait time before I got to try again on the part that was actually challenging and fun. The whole concept would have been so much better if it was two disjointed fights. I also hated with a passion the second encounter of the rabbit gang. First off, I hate gank fights, but if you play slow and patiently, you’ll get through them. The problem is the fight after was hard, so once again, it was a long waiting period before I got to do the fun part. I think that’s bad boss design. Furthermore, I prefer boss second phases when they don’t introduce an entire new health bar. The new health bar isn’t a surprise since you didn’t get a phase 2 on the first health bar, so it effectively adds no value except making the fight longer
@@DreamskyDance I found Malenia... interesting. Because I... use a shield. Yeah, blocking Malenia's showy attack sequence isn't great because she gets health back, but if you want to learn the timing? Like, hunker down and listen to the chimes as she rat-a-tats away. And, yeah, I also summoned the mimic. I equipped dual katanas and we kept her extremely staggered.
Has anyone else noticed the unusable stargazer at the entrance of the Path of the Pilgrim. I think it may be the entrance to a dlc if they are planning on doing one, as you can investigate it and it says it cant be used right now. And plus the lore on the grave nearby hints that it is Carlo's grave. So maybe the dlc will go into the past and explore when Carlo and Romeo were kids and maybe have the stalker character that is shown in the flashbacks on the beach before the Arche Abbey. Idk just speculation on my part.
When you check out the grave it says something like, "a child who was loved lies here." I don't remember the exact quote on the grave. But the only prominant child that was lost in the story, and is mentioned many times, is Carlo, Geppetto's son. And there's more Lore saying that they used to live in the Malum District where the grave is. And the Black Rabbit Brotherhood has the painting of Carlo because they ransacked the Malum district and most likely found it in Geppetto's old place. I could be wrong because you do find the Rabbit coin on the grave so it could be a Black Rabbit Brotherhood sibling's grave as well. Idk just some theories that I've come up with. I just want a dlc, plus I love the story and lore in Lies of P. It was very well done imo.
The grave is a collectible that you get appraised by pucinella.. venignis butler . He will tell you it's a pass . There is a vendor that is hidden before the brotherhood boss fight.. stairs behind some shelves.. he won't sell you anything unless you have that pass from the grave and it's been appraised . It's safe to say that after such an incredible Demo, this is what Peak gaming is for me. Developers listening to ppl. No microtransactions, incredible optimization and a banger story. 70€ well spent.
The in-combat dialogue from the Scrapped Watchman is actually heart-wrenching, and I'm surprised I haven't seen a Vaati Vidya video about the history of the Watchman and his friends yet.
They just released a dev note. It actually seems like they're listening to players which is rare in todays industry. They're even working on a Lies of P roadmap despite the game having been out for less than a week. Insanity.
Yes I'm glad they are listening. There is a HUGE love for this game. It's made with love passion and care like you said is rare. It's just so unbalanced in the bosses which I agree on, all the bosses are broken due to a backwards skill tree and slow and clunky mechanics which like you said the Devs have now seen and are looking into.
@@BetterCallJamie oh c'mon, no way the bosses in this game are super unbalanced like you are saying. The only boss it took me more than 10 attempts so far was the archpriest, and I'm not even a good souls like player lmao
@@aici3800 I would say there are alot of unbalanced bosses in here so far. The only fair one I've come across so far is the Iron Giant. The rest just seem off but that most likely is not to the boss design but the faults within the combat.
If you go the path of lies not only you can see the nose grow on the portrait but as it’s does, your own shadow in the main room of the hotel (where the stargazer is) shows the grown nose.
So there’s an Easter Egg that NO ONE seems to have noticed that I HAVE TO SHARE. So here it is: If you hadn’t noticed when you lie it doesn’t affect your nose like the traditional story. But after Chapter 5 boss you find a painting of you and bring it back to the Hotel Krat. As you progress through the story and continue to lie, individuals in the hotel tell you to check the painting, because it’s changing. Upon visiting the painting you notice your portraits nose is growing the more you lie. BUT THIS ISN’T THE EASTER EGG. Upon discovering the change in the painting, if you go talk Geppetto, he says he “had the Painting commissioned by an Artist D. Gray, and that he believed a painting could capture ones soul” THIS is a direct reference to the 1890s book ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’. A story about a man named Dorian Gray who’s likeness is perfectly captured in a full length portrait painting. So much so that it embodied his soul. And as Dorian grew older, he never aged, but the painting did instead. And without spoiling the book, much how his age affected the painting, Pinocchio’s lying affected his painting. Also eluding that Pinocchio always had a soul. Anyways, I LOVED that reference because I actually felt that was such an underrated well written book. Go read it! It’s a treat!
oh i think everyone noticed that lmao XD, but the one thing people didnt notice is the shadow of our nose gets long the more we lie. And another easter egg, the reason why we keep respawning is becuz of sophie's ability to reverse time thru ergo and thats why we see the clock spinning backwards
Did you know the survivor fight (the guy with the mouse mask) will have different dialogue if you wear the blueblood tailcoat, he will call you Leo and goes mad attacking you, apologizing he was scared to die if you win the fight. My first playthrough he says hears the springs inside us and attacks us wanting to kill puppets in his madness. I think some npc fights have different dialogue for what you wear, i wonder if anyone knows of any other dialogue difference in whats equiped with clothing. Giving more context to story.

A couple of gestures I like are bowing to Sophia using "Respect", she will bow back to you the same way she does when she is leveling you up, and if you clap in front of Venigni, he has some additional dialogue.
I don't know how i didn't think to use the free fable charges like that. I spend quite a bit in the training room and it never occurred to me to do that... Wow thanks man
You can use the gesture “show off clothes” in front of Antonia while wearing the “someones memory” costume for special dialogue. She gives you both of these items in the beginning, so it only made sense for me to try them in front of her.
This game is awesome, especially being a Bloodborne/Dark Souls/Elden Ring fan. They really put a lot of thought into the characters and story, as well as the gameplay.❤
2 things. The puppet on the bridge you are able to lock on to and throw consumables at it after you decipher the cyrptic cypher. and second the language of the puppets becomes readable on NG+ once you complete the ergo wavelength decoder. Awsome video. Awsome game
I cannot fathom how good this game really is. The only problem I had with it is simon manus being tanky. All of the bosses are unique and amazing with bosses like the king of puppets the true final boss champion victor and laxasia being amongst my favorites. Thw weapon system is awesome and if upgrading was not so punishing it would be as good as bloodborne's. Finally the story is compeling and the atmosphere is top tier with plot twists i didnt expect. Truly as good as some of the best from soft game and ive platinumed them all.
I accidentally avoided the trap with the Patches cameo, then I fell through to try and make him feel better, and get more loot, and was disappointed when he disappeared.
The last name that the scrapped watchman says is toma. He is a kid that you can speak to through a window on the street of elysion boulevard. If you speak to him the first time he will talk about Murphy, after you kill the watchman and use the whistle near the windows toma will think it's the watchman he used to play with and say "I miss Zach, Sophie and Eric"
7:21 If you have the Falcon Eyes legion arm, you can hold down the legion button and it will give you an aiming reticle. Makes hitting this thing way easier.
Other Gesture secrets I've found: - If you equip the school uniform Lady Antonio give you and do the 'Show off clothes' Gesture in front of her you get some extra dialogue from her! - If you do the 'Stalker's promise' Gesture in front of Sophia she claps for you just like the Doll in Bloodborne!! - If you do the 'Taunt' Gesture in front of, "Alidoro" he gets mad and talks shit lol - You can also get a response from both "Alidoro" and Venigni using the 'Clap' Gesture!
also lady blue, if you do the respect gesture shell do an action as well as bowing shell whispare please be careful, they all respond to the stalker pose. little eigene the sword fixer, if you bow to her she just waves at you.
8:49 also there is a skill in P-Organ which u can charge a little fable after using pulse cell, just spam it then go to stargazer.. might not be faster but you dont have to go to hotel Krat
I already killed the policeman boss, but is it possible to get to him with the whistle in inventory and blow it during the fight? Like the music box in Bloodborne's Gascoigne fight?
The outfits you get from the pre-order also reference other iterations of Pinocchio in different media. It's great lol All that said, it feels so much like a souls game that I haven't died to any boss too many times. yet. I don't think I'm halfway through so my outlook may change yet lol
6:54 The last word is "Toma" ! Its an NPC. its one of the children that used to play with the Scrapped Watchman back before the frenzy. He has a side quest as he suffer from the petrification disease and tell P about a policeman puppet named Murphy that was his friend (he then say the same names as the boss: Zach, Sophie and Eric who were also his friends but humans who were all a group of children, friends with the Scrapped Watchman) (spoil) to complete his side quest: you need to have spoken to Toma before the boss fight, he is in a window in the "Homomachina" building just after the "inside the House of Elysion boulevard" stargazer, then after the boss fight against the Scrapped Watchman, one of the bench in the arena is lightne by candles and "friends" is written on the ground. You can gain the Faded Whistle (that won't appear if you got the quest after defeating the boss). The Faded Whistle will be in your inventory in "memory", use it in front of Toma's window to remind him of his long friend and finish the quest.
6:54 I think that last word is Toma. The boy in the window. The same one who keeps coughing, thinking of happier times and missing playing with his friends - Zach, Sophie, Eric and... Murphy. The same Murphy Watchman who we are fighting as the boss, who used to play with children and who whistled to announce his presence. We can find this whistle, actually, the one who both the kid and the Watchman were missing. It appears on a bench altar in the courtyard, once you defeat Murphy - the boss - and return to this stargazer. And that's not the last step of the story - but I'll leave this last step spoiler free for anyone who wants to witness it on their own.
On the 3rd boss in the factory level to find Vingini. This game is so much fun. Definitely a child of Bloodborne can't wait to see what else this game has in store and hoping for dlc
Did you also know about the boy painting being given or done by a D.Gray? Dorian Gray the immortal fictional character who's life force was tied to his painting
This game is incredibly well done. This is the most soulslike game I’ve ever played. It hit a perfect balance for me in difficulty but I didn’t use spectres or throwables so maybe others experiences are different
While hitting the body on the bridge, once you have the picture of the "treasure" it'll actually allow you to lock on to the body instead of having to free aim
I did not know about the fable charge in the sparring area, so that's really cool. Considering there's always a bonfire or stargazer, before the boss battle, you can always recharge your fable
When the owner of the hotel gives you the schoolboy outfit, it comes with a gesture for showing off your clothes. Do it in front of her wearing the outfit and she will give you more dialogue and some ergo.

6:49 the police whistle can be used multiple times, but it cannot be added to a quick slot. The same whistle used for the boy in the window. "I miss the whistle, I no longer hear it." Has anyone attempted to use the whistle during this boss fight?
You find the whistle by the bench at the boss room after killing the said boss...so, no way to use it when you actually can't have it before beating the boss
These are all hard to miss honestly. To knock down the puppet body hanging on Elysium Avenue is very easy...you can simply target it with the little cogs used as distractions. 1 throw, 1 hit, puppet knocked down.
That first cryptic vessel quest is weird. It starts deep inside an old cathedral, inside a hidden dungeon that is submerged in corrosive liquid where there is a shiny chest, containing a vessel with an encrypted message... which just tells you to go to a local street and throw rocks at a hanging body, that hopefully is still there. This quest is in reverse. It should end in a hidden dungeon, not start there.
awesome man i hadnt tried that all 3 times of defeating em...now what about the broken stargazer at the malum district, pilgram something....in that little graveyard there was a black crow ontop of it for awhile...flys away though
7:20 it's not that hard to hit the hanging puppet with a throwable... Literally just lock on to it. Yes, you can lock onto it as long as you've deciphered the cryptic vessel at Venigni first.
The police puppet boss’ last word you think is “town” is actually “Toma”. Toma is the name of a sick npc / boy you find in the city at a lit window inside a house, before you get to this boss. Toma and the other kids (the names the boss speaks) were friends with the puppet police boss and miss his police whistle or something. Toma then tasks you with finding it. The police boss references this as it dies. He misses his friends, the kids.
Funny thing is if you don’t activate the trap in the thief room “patches” will start talking to someone about you not tripping the trap and sounds like they start arguing.

After Lies Of P, i am continuing my current Elden Ring playthrough and doing Malenia how Lies of P taught me you do bosses. XD
I went back multiple times throughout the game and it never had a purpose, so DLC is the only logical conclusion.
how does it hint to being his grave? i haven't finished the story yet, I'm only at Lorenzini Arcade.
Golden fountain is confirmed dlc . Nothing can be done with it yet
@@jrobb2118 look a cookie special item is laying on the grave, to show the merchants free pass that his good. its the same thing as the portrait in geppo. s office of young carlos, as the wooden nose grows as P gets stronger with humanity you can take it eventually before fighting simone and after speaking with "dad" in his cell. but this stupid stargazer has me completely buffed....i dunno what to do with it. someone said drop the cookie on it buit you cant control that and worst it doesnt work. its in ur inventory forever, 3rd play threw and stiill will not give up my heart no friggin way, worked to hard to save these humans that are my friends im not gonna butcher them. then make them all puppets as,if!!!and you do get memories back from carlos was young with romeo, but nothing about lil gemini, he was definitely a puppet stalker, and a great one, as for legendary stalker, shes female....thing is what the deal with the piano, can he play more then just a few notes before the ambush the hotel and beautiful Ms.Antonia tells you to play and you just magically play a beautiful resital for her....i wanna know about the broken stargazer whts up with that, for real.someone must know something
That’s good. I mean, there has to be parity.
that's dope, adore this game but it is a lil rough at times
So here it is:
If you hadn’t noticed when you lie it doesn’t affect your nose like the traditional story.
I did this on accident just kept wearing whatever I picked up at first I thought the donkey mask triggered the dialog
I totally noticed that! He says something like wait, these clothes, Leo, is that you. Kinda heartbreaking.
When I got the cryptic vessl for the slum's chest, I actually walked through the shack as close to the right wall as I could out of suspicion and...it worked ! I fell through the floor on my way out of the schack though xD
For the scrapped watchmen dialogue the last name is he says is "toma" and toma is the the little child in elysion boulivard that you speak to him from a window. He talks to you about murphy the policeman who is his friend. Zio you need to read this!!
If you blow the whistle you get after the boss fight Toma while react and give you something
@@phoenixmassacre9647 yeah thats how I figured it out because he says the same names as the boss says plus his name
Thanks for pointing that out🙏
Wich is probably a reference to Robocop.
@@phoenixmassacre9647wtf I never seen a little kid u soeek to through a window? Only the lady that u give the baby too. And I didn't get a whistle for beating the watchman ?
The hanging body on The alchemist bridge can be locked onto so it's not difficult to hit with a throwable or arranged attack
My game of the year by a lot. It is shocking how much From Software energy is in this game. It’s so common for developers to try and copy a formula without understanding what makes it good, but the guys at Neowiz did their homework and hot damn do I love this game
Yessssss been waiting for lore videos on this game
A couple of gestures I like are bowing to Sophia using "Respect", she will bow back to you the same way she does when she is leveling you up, and if you clap in front of Venigni, he has some additional dialogue.
When you get to new game plus, when you do the slum resident again, go around the trap. I think you’ll enjoy how the dynamics change
7:20 little did he know that you can Lock On the body
Pre-ordered this ame immediately aftwr beating he demo. No regrets. Such a great experience so far
7:21 If you have the Falcon Eyes legion arm, you can hold down the legion button and it will give you an aiming reticle. Makes hitting this thing way easier.
Just finished this game... this is so close to perfect, I loved it sm!!! I can't wait to unlock the other endings!
113 hours played . All endings totally worth seeing . Amazing
Wow I didn't know about the Sherlock Holmes one!! That's awesome
I am amazed that you used as background music the theme of Phendrana Drifts. Cool vid ❤
Yo the twist at the hub threw me for a loop last night. Felt violated. Gonna get revenge for sure though
Yeah that traitor is getting the axe on my 2nd playthough where I "lie and genocide"
Other Gesture secrets I've found:
- If you equip the school uniform Lady Antonio give you and do the 'Show off clothes' Gesture in front of her you get some extra dialogue from her!
- If you do the 'Stalker's promise' Gesture in front of Sophia she claps for you just like the Doll in Bloodborne!!
- If you do the 'Taunt' Gesture in front of, "Alidoro" he gets mad and talks shit lol
- You can also get a response from both "Alidoro" and Venigni using the 'Clap' Gesture!
also lady blue, if you do the respect gesture shell do an action as well as bowing shell whispare please be careful, they all respond to the stalker pose. little eigene the sword fixer, if you bow to her she just waves at you.
I felt the same but at the half way point it really ramps up (at the puppet master boss and beyond). It's still doable, but they are some hard bosses!
Every time i get a little more human i try petting the cat and play yhe piano, I love all the little touches in the game
I needed that quartz badly. Thanks buddy, subscribed.
6:54 The last word is "Toma" ! Its an NPC. its one of the children that used to play with the Scrapped Watchman back before the frenzy. He has a side quest as he suffer from the petrification disease and tell P about a policeman puppet named Murphy that was his friend (he then say the same names as the boss: Zach, Sophie and Eric who were also his friends but humans who were all a group of children, friends with the Scrapped Watchman)
(spoil) to complete his side quest: you need to have spoken to Toma before the boss fight, he is in a window in the "Homomachina" building just after the "inside the House of Elysion boulevard" stargazer, then after the boss fight against the Scrapped Watchman, one of the bench in the arena is lightne by candles and "friends" is written on the ground.
I love that on the photo of the cryptic vessel it even has the symbol for guesture on it... it's in plain sight, yet still hard to figure out.
you can read bosses (puppet) language properly if you play on NG+ all text is lear in NG+ :)
Seriously it's a 10/10 even the level up grind routes are perfect. Round6 studios really want that game of the year 😂
I just started this after getting my Elden plat. I wasn't expecting this game to feek like bloodborne 2. I love this game so far
While hitting the body on the bridge, once you have the picture of the "treasure" it'll actually allow you to lock on to the body instead of having to free aim
About the puppet language, if you play NG+ the words will be more visible since you already heard it before.. it's a nice touch :)
If you do the Stalker's Promise in front of her, she starts clapping.
at @6:53, the word you can't make out is "Toma," which is related to the whistle I believe?
you can also save belle from being killed by her partner but u must answer her correctly man.....or she goes and finds him and dies near him in the train so sadddddd, now anyone know anything about that broken stargazer....
@7:25 you can lock on and throw an item like the sharp pipe, i found no difficulty on that
Now try to figure out the point of the stargazer in path of pilgrim that’s covered in vines.
me too, man pls klet me know somehow if u get it figured out and ill deff, try to find u and let u know if i do.
Later in the game your getting a item that makes you understand the puppet language which can be taken to the ng+ and understand what every boss says
what do u mean ng+, i beat it 3 x s and i do make some stuff out like dont trust geppo, is what your bff says romeo, but guys seriously whats up with the broken stargazer why even put it in there?
@@Alicerose-l4hthe broken stargazer in the malum district is most likely going to the be the the entrence for the dlc when it eventually comes out (around the first quarter of 2025)
why everyone didn’t notice the broken stargazer in Malum’s district?
yes please WWWWWHHHYYYYY! its my 3rd run threew and i got the nose from the portrait and it s not strong even after you gear it up but he works with it lovely, but the is the deal with the broken stargazer people, ur given a bunny coin from a boys grave only to keep it to bound a bond of trust heading into that malum district and the mech. how does it work guys?
Brilliant video, sir! 🤖
I'm still making my way through the game as well. I'm only just now paying attention to attack types when assembling weapons. 😅
7:30 it isnt hard at all, you can lock on to the hanging body then throw the throwable, you wont miss
How come youtube didnt show me this! I love the vid
The Refuge letter didn't drop for me despite hitting multiple times. Any idea?
If you Play the flute whilst fighting the watchman, he gets staggered! Just like gherman in BB.
awesome man i hadnt tried that all 3 times of defeating em...now what about the broken stargazer at the malum district, pilgram something....in that little graveyard there was a black crow ontop of it for awhile...flys away though
My favorite easter egg in the game is that if you lie, your shadow cast by the hotel stargazer will have a longer nose.
7:22 you can lock on to the puppet body instead of free aiming
Love the patches reference, but if he's not a great merchant after the betrayal he's getting got lol
Another great video thumbnail ❤
Are all the records accessible on first play through?
I thought I was being pretty thorough. But now at the end and don’t have even half I’d say
7:20 it's not that hard to hit the hanging puppet with a throwable...
Literally just lock on to it. Yes, you can lock onto it as long as you've deciphered the cryptic vessel at Venigni first.
4:26 , if you jump to the right , OVER the trap floor , you get another secret dialog
5:00 if you go around the trapped floor , the slum dude got an other voice cause you didn't get caught
I loved when the cat finally let me pet it
Funny thing is if you don’t activate the trap in the thief room “patches” will start talking to someone about you not tripping the trap and sounds like they start arguing.
A true soulsborne spiritual successor, there's even a version of Patches!
U. An lock onto the puppet on the bridge after you read the hint. Also approach it from the back side.
There is some sort of golden and overgrown stargazer in the Graveyard for ch. 5. I have no idea what it is and I've been grinding out every achievement seeing if that's what it needs. If anybody has clues, lmk please
man thats like the last mystery for me too dude, share please if you figure it out...something has to be given to it or something thats gesturing him to turn on, 3 times ive beaten it and i got the wooden golden nose and stiill nothing with this stargazer....i dont get it man....reach out please if you get it.
Humanity progression explained
1. Your Springs React
2. Your ergo whispers
3. You feel warm
The house is hard to find when you’re tired. Came back the next day and found it immediately 😂
Loved this
The last word that the Scrapped Watchmen is Toma, the one who gives you the quest of the Whiste
It took me a moment but that Slum Resident looks like Patches but has actual hair on his head and not bald lol
I can’t wait to discover ALL of these !
Just beat it today loved it besides the second phase of THAT boss if you know what I mean. Hoping for DLC or more from these developers they nailed it.
4:25 he even has different dialogue if you don‘t fall for his trap, that‘s what happened to me there.
By the way the puppet language is translated when playing through new game plus.
Are you using a mod for the alternate hairstyle?
7:22 you can lock on to the puppet and just throw a sawtooth wheel at it
All you guys are all most thru the game and I'm still stuck on 1st Boss man I suck.. I've played all dark souls games and plat most of Souls games but dam this 1st boss always gets me in 2nd phase love the game and your videos
How is the Jeweled cryptic vessel a BB reference?
getting it today. hope it's actually good!
You are in for a ride my friend, game is amazing and take your time and read everything. Be patient, learn the bosses and enemies patterns, if you get angry just tell yourself "is just a game". Death is your friend and you should see it as a learning experience, you are not bad at the game is just designed that way. Good luck and happy hunting.
For the robber at the shack if you walk around the trap he gets upset and has special dialogue.
