This was SUPER helpful. Was about to pay for a service call until I saw how easy this was. Took apart my Aquamaster, cleaned it all up, and it works like a champ again. Thank you so much for these tips.
I'm thinking this might be my problem, but i'm not sure. My tank is full of water so I'm looking for a place to start, already cleaned the injector but not sure if once that was cleaned I should run it through regeneration?
Great question. You have iron in your water. you need to change the programming from metered to regen every 72 - 96 hours of use at least for a few weeks. After that you can go back to metering.
@@water_estore Gary you are an alright guy! Did ya know that? Ha ha, appreciate your work Mr. water guy!! I’ll give that a shot and see what happens! I’ll have to re-watch one of your videos that shows how to properly account for hardness. I think mine allows 15-99.
@@water_estore hey Gary, the color is almost minimal at this point after a generation! But the water stinks like rust. This “WaterBoss 900” is of 12 yr and processed approx 1,500,000 L; should resin media be replaced? Do ya have a tear down video showing how?? As always thank you so much 😊
Great videos Gary. I would only say that before anyone attempts this stuff they should have new o-rings on hand. It's one thing watching you instruct on a brand new unused unit and another thing with years old o-rings.
Completed these steps and the other video about cleaning the injector for my waterboss iron filter. Nothing appeared very dirty but regardless, it seemed to do the trick and now is operating as it should. Thank you for the tips and guide through - waterboss themselves don't offer much help.
Hello Gary, Thanks for the great video series. I tried cleaning the flow valve and also using ironout to clean and flush out. Still no avail. Any advise is appreciated
@@water_estore I tried the iron-out, cleaning out the flow valve and used res care and in vain. Ran out of options on water boss 950(14 yrs old unit). What is my alternative? Thanks for the advice and great TH-cam video collection
I've checked my flow control and it's clean but I'm still having issues with my Waterboss 380. I have a well with high iron content (10 ppm) and had the settings dialed in and it worked perfectly for 6 years. I've put it in powerclean mode every 6 months and twice a year run some Iron out mixed with water through it and everything was working fine. Now for some reason when I let my tap run it alternates like clockwork: one minute it's crystal clear and the next minute its cloudy and yellow. You could set a clock to it. It's almost exactly one minute for each state. I let the water run for over a half hour and its still clear for a minute then cloudy for the next minute and back again. Of course it has plenty of salt and regenerating doesn't help. What could possibly cause it to alternate back and forth like that? That unique symptom seems like it ought to be a dead giveaway for a particular failure but I can't find any info relating to it.
I had the same thing happen to me. Extreme iron at my house and waterboss told me to run and entire bottle of iron out and let it regenerate. When it gets to number 2 during regeneration on controller wait 15 to 30 seconds and unhook the power and let it run for 1 hour. I always do 2 hours and it cleans the media very well. I also use 1/2 cup iron out once a month and switched over to Morton’s green bag with rust preventative in it. It fixed my problem and no more brown water.
When the dial turns, I get high pressure water leak from that area, can you advise me on what part or assembly to purchase, I realize that is difficult to answer. Thank you
Yes, I have come across this before. You need to replace part number 100240937 Air Check, 900, 950. Email us with your address and we can get you a quotes info@waterestore.com
I have a Water Boss 700 that is about 15 years old. The brine tank is filled with water and my water is so salty, it is undrinkable. It dissolved two 25 pound bags of water in about a week!!!! I normally don't drink tap water but use it for making coffee and could not understand why my coffee tasted so bad. I took a pill with tap water and could not believe how salty my water is. I have been filling my cats water bowl with this stuff. There is no way I can service the unit myself. Should I just buy a new unit since mine is so old. Thanks Gary for your very informative videos.
I have too much water in my Water Boss 950 Brine Tank. Happened out of the blue... Never had issues before. I've taken out the injector and cleaned it with a tooth pick.. no obvious clogs. I've also taken the brine piston out cleaned everything and reinstalled. It still has water in the brine tank... Not sure what else I can do?
@@water_estore thanks for this... I believe I missed this video. I wonder if my brine tank needs cleaned? It's never been ran out of salt and I did have to substitute with rock salt at one point. I have done a Regen cycle and it went right back to the same water level after I cleaned the float, cleaned the brine piston and injector. When I put the float back in after cleaning I did notice it being very difficult to get that nut back on... Which now makes me wonder if there's settled salt on the bottom. Don't have time to check this for a few days but do you think I'm on the right track?
Thank you very much for posting this video. Nice set of step by step instructions - got the job done! The extra step of taking the brine tube/float system out was a good suggestion as it caused me to discover a salt bridge in the bottom of the brine tank and brine well which I then removed! It was quite a pain to clean out all that bridged salt to be honest, but it was a necessary step!
Anyone know how to reset the display on a water boss 700 I think it has something like 01 on the display . Push buttons and it just shows a hardness setting. I think 15 I did plug out of wall socket and also from the controller . Unless it has to be left out for a minute ? Left out upto 10secs atleast to reboot it . Still the same.
I've been following your guides to try and troubleshoot my issues and putting my Waterboss 900 (looks like the AquaMaster in this video) in Bypass Mode and regeneration mode does not seem to release the pressure. I've waited for the unit to complete step 1 and when I unplug the controller the unit continues to run water and if I start unscrewing the first screw, water starts gushing out. I have the same behavior if I try and remove the cap to inspect the injector. Does this mean the valve is malfunctioning and is not switching into Bypass Mode?
The issue I'm trying to resolve is the water level is very high and the unit does not seem to be treating our water. I have emptied the brine tank prior to troubleshooting, but the unit is adding water to the brine tank when regenerating in Bypass Mode.
When you start the regeneration and then bypass the water softener the pressure isn’t being released? Is that correct? If not there must be something wrong with the bypass. You could always try shutting off the water before the softener and then start a regeration. That would also release the pressure
@@water_estore I wondered about that… I’ll give that a shot for troubleshooting the issue with not treating the water. I don’t suppose you have any videos/advice for correcting the issue with the bypass? I had emptied the tank of all water and salt and left it in bypass but the whole tank was full of water a few hours later
I cannot thank you enough for these instructional videos, Gary! Five years later, they are still doing good work

Sounds like you might need a new bypass, we have them waterestore.com/products/aquamaster-bypass-assembly-54512-ams-700-900-or-950
Thanks for the reply. Your video helped me relieve the pressure and install a new 950. I had the old for about 10-12 years. Thanks 👍🏾
What about pouring a super iron out water solution into the brine tank? And possibly the main tank you add the salt too?
I would only do that in extreme situations. It will be difficult to get rid of the iron out if you use too much.
My WB900 worked great for years. However; problem now after regeneration cycle, causes yellow to orange water. What do I need to do to fix this?

My water in the brine take is brown and foamy after regeneration. What would cause this?
You must have some iron or tannins in the water and it is reacting the the brine.
Have had a buildup on the piston shaft causing the piston to seize
you will need to repalce the drive end cap assembly, this video shows you how th-cam.com/video/8UUG6iV3N-s/w-d-xo.html
