Agreed. One of the most concerning issues is that the Model 700 is "supposed" to sense water flow and prevent a regen cycle from starting but that has never been the case. It will start regen during showers, clothes washing etc. which results in hard water constantly being pulled into the pipes, water heater etc which is a problem since the idea of a softener is to preserve the condition of the entire water system. In addition, cleaning is constant which is yet another issue and if you call Waterboss direct they will immediately turn the tables and make the issue something you have done. I was hoping for better but it may be time to move to another brand such as Eco Water.
No. The WaterBoss measures how much water you use to know when to schedule the regeneration. When set properly, it will regenerate at the pre programmed regeneration time the day before you run out of capacity, typically 2 am. The flow measurement is not intended to stop it from regeneration during water usage. It sounds like yours is incorrectly programmed. This video might help th-cam.com/video/WBcoILmmzZQ/w-d-xo.html
Gary, After replacing the Drive End Cap Assembly and turning the water back on, it leaked out the bottom. I took the new assembly back off, cleaned the housing it goes into, tried a new gasket and the same probem. Stoll leaking. Any tips. Thanks.
The only thing I can think of did you use plumbers clear silicone grease on all of the o rings? waterestore.com/products/plumbers-secret-clear-silicone-grease-food-grade-113-gram-free-ship
Hi, thank you very much for all the tips/how to. I had replaced the End cap Assy for my Puretech 5100, which is the grand father of the Aquamaster/WaterBoss. but seems like still filling the brine tank during Brine Draw/Rinse mode. What else should I look for?
Hi, thank you for your additional advice, replace injector just for the sake of it, confirm drain line is unclog/flow freely, still no brine draw. Need your help😢
Hi Gary! Upon regen I've got an E3 code which switches to HO before the regenerate cycle seems to complete successfully... I can't find much info on the E3 code anywhere, maybe you can help? Cheers!
Sure can, E3 means ... Disk did not start in proper home location. Controller will automatically try to reset itself by finding Home and continuing the regeneration. Make sure the controller is pushed all the way onto the drive end cap
Never had to work on a softner more since purchasing a Waterboss...... never buying another, thank you for these videos
Glad to hear that the videos have helped you. We have replacement parts here waterestore.com/search?q=waterboss
