    Thank you so much. We had a Waterboss 900 installed Jan 25, 2020 and your videos in addition to the manual are so helpful and relieve my anxiety over a product I know next to nothing about. We live in Northern California and purchased it from our local Ace Hardware and hired a local plumber to install it.

    My Water Boss 950 has been malfunctioning, lately. I installed it in May 2015, so it's done well without any servicing. The alarm was buzzing a couple of months ago so I disconnected the power and plugged it in again. That seemed to cure it. Then a couple more times, since then, it was sounding. Then I began to notice the water wasn't tasting so good. I was alarmed to open the lid and see it full of water.
    Your video has saved me a plumber's bill. I called three who claim to service water softeners but only got one response. Then at my daughter's suggestion I searched TH-cam for an answer. The manual suggests what needs to be done when the brine tank is filled with water, but it doesn't tell me anything else. You showed it clearly and concisely. Many thanks, Gary!

    Hi Gary! Thanks for the great video! My pro plus 380 is only 6 months old and I started getting really salty water. I checked and cleaned my injector. Ran a manual regeneration but still get really salty water. I do notice that when doing the regeneration I need to manually advance each stage. I am wondering if I need to allow the rinse cycle to run a lot longer or if I just need to start regeneration and let it run through whole process all by itself? Could there be something else wrong? The salt level is about half. I don’t see water so am assuming water level is not too high. The setting is set to 20 based on testing and which was perfect setting for the first 6 months.

    Always great content. This valve and parts are almost identical to my Hague Matermax. I currently have an issue with hardness of 20ppm after I began using iron out, could that have ruined the resin in any way? It's softening our municipal water of 280ppm but not fully... Started more frequent regens to see if it may clean up, then I can readjust settings if so.

    To Anyone: The house I bought 5 years ago has the 900 in it and I'm wondering: is the resin in the tank replaceable, or do we discard the unit after it has reached the end of it's lifespan? I don't know how to tell how old mine is, but I'm guessing I'll know when my water isn't soft anymore. Thank you.

    • @water_estore

      It is extremely difficult to replace the resin. Typically the resin lasts about 20 years.

    Thanks for these videos. I get maybe a gallon (or 2) of salty water after regeneration on my new WB 900 softener. If a let the water run a short bit the water is fine. The rinse flush line does go up about 7 ft, oops 2M, before draining. Would a check valve on the drain be a good idea? Or can I increase the flush time?

    My 1 year old Water Boss slowly fills the brine tank between regenerations. (takes about a week to fill it up and then it drains out the overflow)The factory says it is either leaking into the tank via the brine tube and brine pump or through a loose or leaky plug at the bottom of the media bed tank. I am going to disconnect the brine tube an see if water slowly drips from it. If it is the tank plug, what king of a job is it to remove that media tank for inspection of that plug?

    Do not screw the cap on with the o ring in the cap, you will pinch the o ring. The o ring goes inside the pipe body and then screw the cap on. I found out the hard way.

      My friend, you just saved me $500 on a new softener. I even ordered a new cap from the manufacturer. The woman I talked to sounded a little annoyed that I bothered her, but sent me a new cap, which also leaked. Didn't bother to tell me what you did. The original o-ring would not fit back into the pipe body. But a slightly smaller one did and it works perfectly. Thank you.

    • @water_estore
      @water_estore  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I honestly don't know, never had to deal with that concern. I don't think it would have clogged the injector, I would carefully regenerate it to see what happens. Did any media escape from the tank into the household plumbing?

    I used iron out in the waterboss 900. I followed the instructions for adding the iron out from the container. The softner did not have salt in it at the time. About 6 hours after regenerating it, my husband took a shower and his eyes are now burning so we think the iron out ended up in our water lines. What do we do about this?

    • @waterestore2894

      Just regenerate it again and once it is finished flush about 20 gallons of water through the system and all should be back to normal.

    Having a problem with my 900. Water is pouring out the drain line non stop. No error messages. If I unplug unit water continues to flow. Only way to stop it is to shut off water supply. If I turn it to bypass mode it stops.

    Please mention in the video how long one may have to wait for the depressurization to get to a point that it should be safe to unscrew. You simply turned the knob to by pass while saying this would depressurize the tank & then went straight to unscrewing . Needless to say the amount of time I waited was NOT long enough! Now I have other problems! 😩

      Actaully in the video it says to bypass the softener, then regenerate to relaese the pressure, which takes only a couple of seconds.

    I am at the end of my wits. I have replaced the end cap assembly, I have made sure all the lines are clear. The injector is not clogged. Yet it the tank level never drops during the regen cycle and we have no soft water. I'm calling the factory tomorrow to see what they have to say. My wife says throw it out and buy a new one.

    • @water_estore
      @water_estore  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear, Derek. If you disconnect the float, is there suction during the brine cycle where the float connects to the brine valve? Is you drain line kinked or clogged? Check those ideas. Calling the factory is a good idea and they can help you through the problem solving process.

    Don't listen to this guy he doesn't know he's talking about he's working on a water softener inside a clean environment it's not even hooked up to water. He doesn't tell you about the o-rings that you have to replace because when you put them in the cap it pinches them. I had to find out that the hard way. I'd like to see this clown work on a 15-year-old one inside a closet it's almost impossible. No where did he mention anything about pinching the o-rings. Mine wouldn't go in evidently with age they swell up and they won't fit. This is the first and last time I'll take any advice from this clown. Thanks for giving me extra work now I got to drive 19 miles to town to get one and guess what it's 19 mi back thanks pal

      @water_estore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct that working in a closet is different than working in a clean environment, with good lighting. But those environments are best for making videos. Yesterday I was repairing an iron filter in a closet, it was difficult, but I got it done. I hope the info in the video was of some help. If you don’t like my videos look around for a better source. I’m not a clown.

    • @unknownuser2737

      @@water_estore then maybe you need to learn how to make a video. I even had to call water boss about the o-ring sizes they didn't know either they wanted to sell the whole kit I only needed one o-ring. Maybe you ought to tell people like me that the o ring swell up when they come out of there and they don't fit back in when you put the cap on it cuts the o-ring in half. Then you go to the hardware store to get a o-ring . the manual doesn't say what kind it is. Is it a standard o-ring or is it a metric o-ring? So I had to buy an assorted standard pack and an assorted metric pack so I didn't have to waste another trip back into town.. so there you go clown how do you like me now.
