इतिहासकालीन भाऊ महाराज पंडित यांची गढी पुण्यात फारशी कोणाला माहीत नाहीये. कालांतराने जगन्नाथ महाराज पंडित यांनी ही जागा लोकमान्य टिळकांच्या स्मारकासाठी दिली. आता या जागेला 'टिळक स्मारक मंदिर' या नावाने पुणेकर ओळखतात. या गढीचे काही भाग आजही सुस्थितीत आहेत.

Not many people know about the historical stronghold of Bhau Maharaj Pandit in Pune. Eventually, Jagannath Maharaj Pandit gave this place as a memorial to Lokmanya Tilak. Now this place is known by Punekar as 'Tilak Smarak Mandir'. Some parts of this fort are still in good condition.

Lokmanya tilak gave proper parentship to Jagannath Maharaj pandit & spent 1912 to 1919 in legal case to prove as heirship or successors of Jagannath Maharaj pandit who was adopted . After got success in legal case & clean cheet Jagannath Maharaj asked Lokmanya “ u had made me real successor of this family & property, what should I give u “ Tilak maharaj was totally selfless & Tilak Maharaj told Jagannath Maharaj to donate place to shikashan mandal sp college & this was total impact of Lokmanya

You are correct. I have visited this house in the 1960's as a 7 year old boy. Jagannath Maharaj Pandit was living in the house at that time. I remember the first floor large hall where we sat.His son Bal J Pandit gave live cricket commentary on All India Radio. My father was an auditor and Jagannath Maharaj Pandit was his client. The land was given on lease to SPM and not sold. Later on I left India and living abroad so i have no idea of current status.
