Did you know that inflammation is a major cause of disease today? Inflammation of the arteries causes heart disease. Inflammation in the joints causes arthritis. Inflammation of the colon causes ulcerative colitis. Needless to say, inflammation in the body is a serious threat to your health.
In this episode of Ancient Medicine Today, I am going to go over the top 15 anti-inflammatory foods that can help heal the inflammation in your body. Thanks for your informative article, here's a few more tips on anti-inflammatory dietary supplements...
Curcumin: Research has shown the anti-inflammatory properties of curcumin can be as effective as pharmaceuticals, but without the negative effect of toxicity. This powerful antioxidant also supports joint health and cardiovascular function.
Resveratrol: This extract found in red-wine helps to quell inflammation, regulate the malfunctioning immune response, and protect against cancer.
The Myers Way© Paleo Protein: Ideal for patients with intestinal inflammation, this powder’s blend of nutrients and amino acids helps support a balanced inflammatory response in the body.
(I read these and why they work on Mackyns Nature Guard site )

Thanks, Dr. Axe! I learned valuable info here :) must say turmeric is MY TOP anti-inflammatory food because it also reduces pain. I've been diagnosed with a chronic spirochete infection similar to Lyme disease. And when I got IV antibiotics I would get a BAD headache (due to bacteria die off/Herx). I mixed turmeric in a cup of warm water and some honey, it cleared my headache in minutes!!! better than the over-the-counter meds I tried!! it is an amazing food and I love it!! I would recommend Lyme patients to ask their doctor about using it. I read that a lot of Lyme symptoms and herx is due to inflammation rather than the spirochete itself, so anti-inflammatory foods are a true blessing! thanks Dr. Axe, I'm definitely going to eat more of those. Wish you all healing, hope and good health! :)

jessica fong: How are you 2 years later, I hope better? Had you managed stress when getting the good results from Turmeric, please? Because it doesn't really help me, I have eaten extremely healthy, which does show in blood picture, but nothing can real.ly help as long as stress goes on and can't be stopped without help. In fact it is largely continued and increased by the professionals.I have started to cook Turmeric again tough,. since i múst do something.I understand it can be not good in chronic stress illness, dont remember how that was. inflammation is the body's wise self-protection, is there for a reason, and should not be repressed if the cause is largely stress/trauma/sleep deprivation. But now I take some cooked, want to think clearly again and regain energy production and retention. I'd love to hear from you. Looking for healing comrade, someone with "incurable" disease, really motivated. I can help, but also need some support back. Long for the comfort and joy of constructive and warm human contact.
I want to get regular at self-help methods and good habits ands practices, and have someone to be accountable before, and receive accounts from, I think. Just briefly written (or spoken, when I find help to use Skype).

Dear Dr Axe, I suspect this older video came up on my recommended viewing because I have been doing quite a bit of research on anti-inflammatory foods. I was just diagnosed with arthritis in my spine (neck, shoulders, lower back) Talk about being a pain in the neck! Lol My goal is to prevent flair ups and if I do get one hopefully it will subside quickly. I suspect this will also help with my diabetes. I want to improve my health and your video helped me more than several articles I read. I will definitely go to your website to get additional information. Thank you for helping me get started, as I was so confused trying to understand arthritis and inflammation. My doctor has been helpful (x-ray, MRI, and nutritionist appointment) but I also have to be proactive. Especially since I have a B12 deficiency and I am anemic. Warmest regards, Marcia

    Hi, Dr. Axe
I enjoy watching your video. I have been suffering from degenerative knee arthritis for about twenty years or so. I am a firm believer that mother nature has given us the tools to combat any health issues...so I have been on an long journey figuring out what works for me and I did some research on ginger and its medicinal properties. I decided to chop up ginger(organic) add water and cinnamon stick to a sauce pan. I began to boil the ginger and cinnamon on low heat for about 45 minutes to an hour, remove from the stove top and let it cool. I began drinking a quarter to a half a cup a day on the seven day my knees stop making that crackling noise when I bend them, I had more mobility and was able to straighten out my knees when stretching my quads and Hamstrings. Amazing huh!!! just wanted to share my experience.

Thanks so much for this video. I've had a herniated disc for 20 years. I'm going to get back on bone broth and I'm doing IF 20/4. I've been juicing tumeric and ginger for the last 3 months (aling with many other things, for a serious H.Metal detox, now I'm working on parasites) and I feel no difference in my back pain. In your opinion, is the essential oil better/stronger? I'm a 55 years old female (haven't gone through menopause yet) and after my first fast I was able to start some slow jogging and lifting weights and I feel amazing. I just have such terrible back pain so I'm looking for ideas. Thanks. I adore the science, thanks so much!

Dr Axe please can you tell me if it is safe and healthy for us to eat the seeds (powdered down) from avocado? I have done it myself but I want to know your opinion! Thank you God bless you. You are the best doctor

Fantastic info!! I regularly eat a lot of the items mentioned but now at 49 I have developed calcification tendinitis and a slight tear in my shoulder tendon so this information is great to readjust my diet a bit more. thank you.

Thank you Dr. Axe for your amazing videos! Is turmeric powder generally found at Trader's Joe a good one, or is the actual herb better?

I have Ulcerative Colitis. I've been on Plexus products for almost 4 years and it's been life changing. Awesome multi vitamin and probiotic, i won't live without it.

Great refresher for me! I happen to really love blackberries! Not just anti-inflammatory, but they also have been shown to reverse mitochondrial damage :-)

Just came across your channel and so grateful! My daughter 18yrs old has eczema and was told she has allergies to tree nuts and peanuts. In lieu of coconut oil or coconut water what can she use in her smoothies?
