    My favorite supper is a baked sweet potato with a cashew coconut sauce with lemon and sundried tomato, fresh ginger, kale and peas. Add some nutritional yeast and it is divine!! I love smoothies in the morning also. Loved this video!

    I never thought about the effects of carbs before bed, thanks! Can Chelsea do one of these videos? I'd like to see her version.

      Hey there! You can follow Chelsea on youtube or other social media platforms to see more of what she eats. However, it's important to always keep your primary healthcare provider in the loop about your diet so they are best able to advise you! Sure, it's funny how all of our metabolisms can be different. My wife can eat carbs seemingly with impunity, any time of day. If I did what she did I'd be a wreck and 300 lbs probably. I eat very similarly to the Dr. in this video.

      @@justjosie8963 Nope blood sugars are fine. I know of several ppl who choose to avoid carbs during the day as it makes them feel heavy. Now I'm referring to grain type carbs. And that could be due to the GMO factor in many of our grains.

      Carbohydrates are classified as oxidants. They speed up the rate of cell turnover. Gut microbes digest them and create fatty acids that end up fueling our brains which are 80% fat. Fuel fat with fat. Anaerobic pathogenic bacteria survive if they are fed carbohydrates, fueling the body with fat starves the pathogens.

    Carbs before bed....Hmmm... That probably explains why I feel so worn out when I wake up in the morning. I am a "carb head". 😂I'll cut back on the carbs toward the evening and see how that works. Hopefully I will begin to feel more refreshed in the mornings instead of feeling "trainwrecked". Thanks Dr. Axe.

    Lots of oxalates

    • @drjoshaxe
      @drjoshaxe  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unless you are prone to kidney stones or don't drink enough water, oxalates shouldn't be a worry. However, everyone is unique so it's important to follow a diet that makes you feel your best! You can learn more about oxaletes here: draxe.com/nutrition/oxalic-acid-oxalate-foods/?

    • @lindabell6954
      @lindabell6954 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've learned from Sally k Norton, that oxalates accumulate in joints, arteries and organs, especially the thyroid. It make take a decade to notice symptoms. There are many healthy low oxalate choices. Be very careful with high oxalate foods! It is simply not true that this only applies to people with a history of kidney stones.

    • @About36Greekss
      @About36Greekss 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Linda Bell yes ! Sally has fantastic information. My diet is basically meat , animal fat and fruit . Vegetables just have too many anti nutrients for me to trust

    • @lindabell6954
      @lindabell6954 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      About36GREEKS I worked with Sally, and one of the most important things I learned from her was to not be afraid to have some sugar, maple syrup or fruit. That was the best thing I did. I felt so much better having a little glucose. I eat all the foods you mentioned. Hopefully, in 2020 there will be a trend to eat foods that build up and nourish, and more oxalate awareness. Sally has a book coming out soon.

      becareful cuz u arent eating in accordance wit the seasons...u could cause harm to ur digestion (digestive fire/stomach acid) by eating fruits and other cooling foods/cold drinks in the winter. Mangoes, Strawberries, and stuff like that dont grow during the winter. Traditional Chinese Medicine advises against this sort of thing. U should try consume warming foods some examples example r chestnuts, goji berries, walnuts, squashes, radishes n soups/stews

    Also Dr Axe, what is your position on the Ayurvedic practice of proper food combining? I began to learn about it and it just seems SO STRESSFUL but once you read that you shouldn't be combining certain foods, you begin feeling guilty when you eat "forbidden" foods together - gah! I honestly had to just take a break from the book I was reading about it because I. just.can't. Too much. So would love to know what your thoughts are on that whole subject. I know eating like this is a wonderful goal to try and implement but millions would have a hard time putting this eating style into practice. Priorities, I guess

      yep priorities.. people have no problem giving money to banks,auto industries,landlords and other billionaires but when it comes to spending $ on food its a big "i can't afford it" lol

    Thank you for sharing this! Would you advise me to drink bone broth? I've only given up meat for about a year. I gave it up to clear my digestion, but every morning I wake up with headaches and have terrible brain fog until 2pm. Will that help? Because I had meat before and felt the same :/ maybe just specifically bone broth will help??

      Hey, Kaya! Many things could be causing your symptoms. It's best to see your local healthcare provider so they are best able to advise you. However, you may find this helpful: draxe.com/health/exhausted-ways-to-boost-energy-levels/?

      Look into wifi and smart meter radiation as well. I’ve heard of people experiencing these sort of symptoms before. One guy was having all sorts of horrible problems and then realised his room was close to smart meters in the appartments complex. Are you wearing a headset or talking for long periods on the phone with it to your head?

    Do you get your meat from a farm or a local grocery store? I am searching for a local farm that has grass fed animals! It's so hard to find grass fed clean beef liver.
    I know your wife is pregnant-I suggest reading 'Super Nutrition For Babies' (by katherine erlich) it's amazing I think you guys would like it.

      Hey, Clive! I would recommend you eat the foods that are fresh and in season in your area! Although you may not have access to the same brands, you may be able to find similar alternatives near you! This article may be helpful: draxe.com/nutrition/eating-seasonally/?
