Essentially she has the power to just make Canada dislike the queen if she uses her power.

Can confirm in the case of the UK military they massively prefer the Queen to parliament. But a good chunk of that is likely down to parliament being total tossers towards the military.
In the case of the army, things get a touch complicated. While many parts of the army are intimately connected to the crown and commissions are in the crowns name, the army is sort of under the authority of parliament.
But if it came down to the army having to choose between the queen and parliament. They'd always go for the queenie

Considering how weak the UK is as a military power, there isn't anything to be afraid of since it would reestablish the Empire just to have it collapse immediately. The US could literally close off sea access to the UK navy if it wanted to using only one of its 10 carrier battle groups.

My favourite story about Elizabeth during the war was that in order to complete her land girls training she had to drive a lorry into London. The Palace were terrified of this in case, being just a girl, she crashed and how bad it would look, so they summoned Elizabeth. She arrived driving a lorry and therefore completed her training before they had the chance to object. I love that she has that attitude.

@@carolusrex5213 Only one, the Defence Secretary. Academics are generally much more worried about the measures to prevent a rogue US president launching than the procedures for a rogue PM. This is largely because of the queen's role in the UK system.
Kinda, the president technically has authority to use the nuclear arsenal at his discretion however he does have a chain of command and if the secretary of defense or his cadre of generals in the joint chiefs of staff decide that the order is unlawful then it won't happen. If the president today ordered a unilateral strike on China for example, the Pentagon would decide that order was unlawful since there is no declaration of war against China and it is against established policies that limit nuclear deployment to defensive roles only and refuse to carry it out.

The Queen Liz is insane, so much so that even Americans like me love and respect her.
She wasn't just a mechanic, but a supply driver. Due to the no women in military policy, she basically drove high value supplies (guns, ammo, food, fuel, water) WITHOUT a rifle and sometimes WITHOUT SECURITY!
She had one of the most dangerous jobs, and she did it with no protection. The best part is, she had the option to not join, or simply have a desk job within the military, but actively chose to be on the front lines with her people.

Karl brings up a part of british army training my mother had to do. Where you have to crawl, fully geared up, through a pipe of water. My mother was originally claustrophobic and had a fear of being underwater. This training made it so she is now TERRIFIED of the two. However, it also made her realise one of her other fears, can't remember what she said, was completely ridiculous.
In addition to her powers in military matters the Queen also has sovereign immunity in the Commonwealth and diplomatic immunity elsewhere in the world. So she wouldn't even face a trial after nuking somewhere (Wales!)
