From one of the older manufacturers like tamiya, hpi etc. And then make some speed challenge, time attack, bashing etc. Not everyone has nearly unlimited founds. I rebuild at the monent my old DF-01 Chassis was a lot of fun in my childhood.
To fix the CVD dropping out change the bearing on the inside of the tire from 2mm ( i think it was 2mm stock ) to 2.5mm and it will push the CVD closer to the diff cup , i had the same problem on my wltoys car and that fixed it with ease .
A tip someone showed me back in the day was to cut a small piece of fuel tubing (from a nitro car) and use that to shim. Worked for me very well and pretty much a free fix.
I applaud anyone who races using buggies I just couldn't get to grips with one so started racing with a more forgiving team associated Rc8 Truggy, so glad to hear you n kev racing and spreading your word out about the racing side of the hobby,
It is the - Tomley International Team Shop - T.I.T.S. You are the - Tomley Unlimited Race Driver - T.U.R.D. This team is going places and clearly a factory team. Go get em Mr Tomley!!!!
The rear shocks are too long. Try either screwing in the shock eyelet in a few turns or fit a 2 - 4mm internal limiter under the shock piston to give it less travel.
I agree on the turnbuckles. I've snapped a few myself. Weird how it's the metal part that breaks instead of the plastic breaking and stripping around it.
If you can move the bottom end of the rear shocks out a little bit it should lower the ride hight and stop the drive shaft from pulling out of the cup. 😉
Nice buggy I think. Good to see what is on offer out there from lesser known brands. I think it's awesome that you are going to have a race with Kev. Another way of fixing that issue with the rear dogbones is to open up the shocks and put a bush on the shaft under the piston, this reduces how far down the shock and therefor the arm can drop. Gearing it down is a good idea. You won't have the same top speed but that's not so important when racing on a track. it will accelerate out of corners better though. Have fun when you race it :)
Kevin's good behind the wheel and the remote even with cheap rc your good too but iv never seen you race ,looking forward to it ,,,. Alex kowaliuk from America 🇺🇸

We used to cut a small piece of fuel line from one of our nitro rc's and put it in the cup before the dogbone, wheel side :) Helps prevent them popping out :) Cheers !!!
Yep, as others have mentioned, do this and that to it and it'll be that and this. But none of that will stop it being rubbish for breaking like that. And, of course, never push on the turnbuckle or any suspension link to pop off the pivot cup. Use the tips of needle nose pliers to lever it off evenly.
good luck to you when you get the chance to race against Kevin and his mates..can't wait to see that video! and....PLEASE don't let stempy take control of your buggy. we all know how he races! hahaha! cheers.
Put some Petro tubing in the dog bones to space them so they don't fall out. I'd go ahead and change out all the chamber links etc so they don't break while racing. Looking forward to seeing you guys race 🔥👍✌️

Love the LC Racing stuff and looks sick in your colours dude looking forward to see u go against talbot be a good watch that obviously be routing for Team TRC 😉
Also when you set your gearing you want the car to top out about 3/4's of the way down the straight you'll gain more time having good punch in the infield vs a bunch of top end
Used a droop screw to keep your rear suspension from over extending the driveshaft 👍 Everyone's got their way, hey as they say - more than one way to skin a cat... (Tho I never quite got where that expression came from 🤔 )
Your rear shocks sound like sweep from the sootie show 😂 great looking buggy and goes well too! Look forward to seeing video with you against Kev Talbot
So no bushings on the servo saver post? So far the only one I have that came with servo saver bearings is the Xmaxx. None of my Traxxas or Arrma below 8s came with bearings. My 1/10s and 1/8s come with plastic or brass. And in the Traxxas manuals are misleading by having the bearing in the diagram when it has plastic bushings.
I'm a bit divided with this kit... It seems to have some durability issues not present on the ptg-2 or probably their lc10b, even at Kevin's video you could see Vinny having trouble with it breaking down and he's just running regular carpet track jumps
As you have a WFly X9 remote, could you try that is it compatible with the ESC/Receiver built-in the MJX Hyper Go? The MJX Hyper Go has the GPS built-in, and that is something what the RG206S receiver should support as well. Just curious are they actually the same receivers.
Brilliant video very good looking car, shame about the rear dog bones. You can shim the dog bone inward BUT the pin for the hex then runs on the outer bearing. Same thing with wltoys but way more acceptable from a clone to be out of whack 👍

@@TomleyRC haha 😂 wish could be there too with my one be no much left haha 😂
I’ve always wanted to race, but it’s been to expensive, now I might be able to
Put some Orings on the outer cups of the drive shafts
Easiest way to deal with those dog bones popping out is to add limiters inside the shock bodies stops them from dropping all the way when you jump
Also when you set your gearing you want the car to top out about 3/4's of the way down the straight you'll gain more time having good punch in the infield vs a bunch of top end
Copperhead 10 3800 KV sensored in a two-wheel drive slash 60 to 65 mph on a 3s battery with 32 pitch gears with a 15 tooth pinion and a 54 spur
Those tires may damage the carpet. I would recommend picking up a set of Proline carpet tires. Prism rears and Pyramids in the front.
Used a droop screw to keep your rear suspension from over extending the driveshaft 👍
Everyone's got their way, hey as they say - more than one way to skin a cat... (Tho I never quite got where that expression came from 🤔 )

Yes, maybe just needs a bit of fine tuning
Does that model have the screw in the metal chassis that stops the control arm from full droop?
Place a thicker spacer beneath the shock piston to reduce down droop travel. And you will solve the CvD coming out of the drive cup issue.
👍
Kevin Talbot puts o rings inside the cup at the wheel to move the shaft inwards a bit as well.
@@muskokamike127 these are CVDs, so no option to do that
@@TomleyRC ah, that is too bad, it's an easy fix.
Set your droop screws so your shocks arent fully extended.
Hi mate it's probably a cut thread rather than a pressed thread on the turn buckle cutting a thread will always create a weak spot nice build though 👍
Do the rear arms have provision for fitting droop screws Phil? If so, then fitting the screws will help prevent those drive shafts from popping out.
It doesn't (well.. I'm pretty sure it doesn't) as I'd thought about that when I noticed the issue
