    Just picked up a used 74.1 as my first wheeler, having only run 2wd classes in the past (21.5 buggy and 13.5 stadium truck). Seriously impressed with how it handled on a mostly stock setup. Very well setup platform.

    I still like that you use paper plates to hold the parts just like most of us do. I used paper bowls when I built my TRX-4 earlier this year. They work better for smaller build areas.

    I'm so jealous... ive AAAAALLLWAYS wanted a team associated car or truck, ever since my first traxxas stampede in the 90s... i wanted a rc10gt, but id LOVE a b series vehicle too, or a t series electric truck... all their cars and trucks are just so amazingly well designed, thats why they always win races. Im tempted to fix my 3d printer and try to find a printable kit of one of their vehicles...just to have one, cuz theyre SO expensive.

      @NeoIsrafil 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@itspique they are, but they just aren't on the same level as team associated. Tamaya tries, dont get me wrong, but associated is racing pedigree, losi being second place in my eyes. (They are, or were, the only real serious competitor for Team A back in the day)

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congrats on wanting to get back into it, the selection of cars and different types is pretty wide. For kits that require assembly, most are meant for competition but Tamiya still offers kits for most of their cars, Traxxas offers a version of the Slash 2WD as a kit and then most trail trucks/rock crawlers can be found as kits. Most of the bashers or "just for fun" cars come as ready-to-run, but what type of car/driving do you have in mind?

I am just looking for something to mostly build/modify and occasionally casual(spirited) drives in the school parking lot behind my house, or maybe get brave and hit the skate park around the corner. I don't have access to dirt but I like the idea of the toughness of a truck like the Slash. But I also really like the idea of having a road car, I have never owned one and love the looks of them. I will keep researching, thanks again!

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@StingrayOfficial Cool, I'm glad you were looking at the Slash. Of all the R/C's out there, none have more upgrades and accessories available than the Slash. How do you mount the protek fans to chassis for motor and esc?

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a fan mount included with the B74.1 and it secures to the rear spline.

    Will the b74 do well on an outdoor track with lose grip?

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but you'd want the Dirt version, designated by the D at the end of the name. Currently, it would be the B74.2D; this is it: www.amainhobbies.com/team-associated-rc10b74.2d-team-1-10-4wd-offroad-electric-buggy-kit-asc90037/p1447397
      The other version, B74.2 (non-D), is meant for high traction carpet and astro applications. The Dirt car on the other hand is of course for dirt tracks, clay tracks or any other low traction applications. Both cars can be swapped into the other by changing key parts; it's pretty easy, although not cheap.
      Hope this helps you Cole.

      @@colestaples2010 Touch choice! I'd recommend seeing which car is most popular at your track. If you get the same one, it's much easier to ask for tuning and setup help from the fast guys; otherwise, you're all on your own. Seeing which car has more parts available at your local shop is a good idea too.

      @@AMain_Hobbies i decided to go with the b74 because I’ll have better part support at my clay track and my local track is lose outdoor. I wanted the Tekno really bad but I think the 74 will work a little better for my situation. I really want that Tekno though

    Cringing a bit at 8:10. There is a channel built into the front spine that will fit your ESC and Fan wires. Tape on heatshrink has a tendency to fail.
