Talbot is on completely another level, even if he had 17.5 car and tomley mod car and new track, tomley would have no chance
This looks like a blast. I would love to see more challenges between you and Talbot. Maybe some kind of "RC decathlon" where you compete in a variety of events. Racing, drifting, crawling, etc.
This is a great video. It shows how to prep for a race and it appears everyone had fun. You're driving improved and got more consistent. It was a very nice event and I am sure it brought more viewers to everyone's channel.

That was a very clean race for the most part. Not gonna lie to you, I expected a lot more intentional carnage 😂 But good to see some nice clean racing. Us American boys need to take notes, most people here will intentionally wreck you for the win.
I'm glad you had a good time. It looked like a lot of fun. Everything I've heard from people who race is that consistency is everything. It's nice to have the latest buggy, but that RTR is afaik based off the B4, and that in it's day was a very good buggy indeed. Evenb with a B4 (a couple of generations old now) if you can drive consistently enough, you'll still do well. Fun vid as always.

Practice is a big part of it, and an unfamiliar track throws anybody. No biggy, when it's fun to win or lose you can only get better. You're setup is sweet, your control is improving and I've Phil confidence in you!! Keep killin it bruv.

I said the same on the Popalong video, this race event is what a lot of us have wanted to see for sometime, and it's great for all us views and also for the RC community in general so thank you for that....on a side note... Peterborough services, 35mins to go, Papworth with 13mins to go, You must have been going some to achieve that 🤔

I do not watch many of Talbots vids so was surprised to see him not smash something to bits as that seems to be his normal mo on the stuff I have seen.
Sometimes he does videos without braking something 😅 I don't like braking my own stuff on purpose. That's his job... Like he's saying so that we don't have to. Durability wise.

@Tomley RC - considering how you've never raced, that's a very good result. Genuinely. Obviously hitting the laptimes that the A finalists would be nice, but working out your 'consistency' percentage is a good place to start. OK - Geeky post race analysis time! If your best lap was 14.85 sec, a 100% performance for you in Rd 1 would look like 21 laps in 5 mins 11.85 secs! Hypothetically, your own 100% performance would have put you 1 lap up on KT's actual in round 1! 😂 You got 17 laps in 5 mins 8.05 secs, giving you a consistency percentage of 81.95% - which is respectable. KT's was 88.48% and based on Rd1 performance 100% performance would look like a 23 lapper in 5m 10.96 secs. Your Rd 3 race told the story. As your pace had improved by round 3, meaning 100% consistency would look like 23/313.06 secs. Your result of 20/310.71 secs was a 91.6% consistency which is an improvent of 9% in just one meeting! Kudos! 🤩 KT was improving too though, spurred on by his rivals, a 100% would look like 24/309.6 secs. So, his Rd 3 finish was a 92.2% - an improvement of 3.7%. At regional or national level, you'll generally find all the A finalists in the region of 95-98% by the last round. It's literally insane. The difference between best and average laps are usually just a few 10ths of a second at most. Either way - I reckon that's it - you're all hooked!

I do like sanwa radios. I have a 24 year old stick set that still works flawlessly. So it's got a big telescopic antenna and uses crystals and weighs about 2 stone with the batteries in but I love it.

As a near 50 year old who wants to join an 8th scale club here in Sydney to do some e buggy racing for the first time in my life it's great to see other guys getting out having a go because I must say it is a bit intimidating... although like all the lads there the guys at the track I'm thinking of joining are extremely welcoming and friendly as well.. I was talking to Matt at RC Hobbies and the track at Lansdowne there near bass Hill/George's hall is getting built now.. They'll have 8th scale I've been told.. Have you seen the three track at Albion Park? Awesome and very friendly people there..

@@malsmith2012 lots of RC tracks. 1/8 onroad, nitro and electric, 1/10 onroad, nitro and electric, 1/10 off-road, electric. But no 1/10 off-road nitro, no 1/8 off-road anything. Have to travel to Albion or Maitland for those classes after Liverpool track was closed due to Asbestos contamination. That is the real tragedy. Enjoy your racing Mal! To some point, the race standings dont matter. It was done for fun, and thats what was done. Gettin together with buddies racing, and everyone that does this is competitive, so its all great fun. I like both worlds too, racin and bashin alike. Alrhough i dont own any real bashers, so i just have to take out my race cars when just putzin around.
I’d love to see you all go at it in open bbx’s. I think it would be cool to see what each of you do to it. You could then raffle them off for your chanels.

Whoever won doesn't matter.. it wasn't a mistake imo because now im sure the beef is squashed and you guys are friends .. if you didn't do so good that's okay you went to his home track where he runs at all the time.. RC racing is set up for a specific track but after that it comes down to muscle memory.. in order to develop that memory you have to run at a specific track for many many hours..Good fun!

Man this is awesome I was so excited to have this pop up on my feed well done Tomley rc on the finals I want to start a league of my own but living in a small community with people focused on other things is a bit challenging
Should be in the olympics . Kev is definitely gifted in the RC field. But I personally enjoy both your differing styles of channels

I do like sanwa radios. I have a 24 year old stick set that still works flawlessly. So it's got a big telescopic antenna and uses crystals and weighs about 2 stone with the batteries in but I love it.

As a near 50 year old who wants to join an 8th scale club here in Sydney to do some e buggy racing for the first time in my life it's great to see other guys getting out having a go because I must say it is a bit intimidating... although like all the lads there the guys at the track I'm thinking of joining are extremely welcoming and friendly as well.. Looking forward to more races in the future.. 😁👍

@@michaelinzitari Hi Michael, I'm going to join the Illawarra off road rc club.. Awesome track down at Albion Park only an hour from the Sutherland Shire where I am.. I was talking to Matt at RC Hobbies and the track at Lansdowne there near bass Hill/George's hall is getting built now.. They'll have 8th scale I've been told.. Have you seen the three track at Albion Park? Awesome and very friendly people there..

As for the new track at Flinders Slopes car park, do not hold your breath. You might be waiting a while for any progress there. There is no club/committee. Just unorganised bashers

@@malsmith2012 lots of RC tracks. 1/8 onroad, nitro and electric, 1/10 onroad, nitro and electric, 1/10 off-road, electric. But no 1/10 off-road nitro, no 1/8 off-road anything. Have to travel to Albion or Maitland for those classes after Liverpool track was closed due to Asbestos contamination. That is the real tragedy. Enjoy your racing Mal! Noah had some bad luck. But he was given an LC Racing for his final at the end, and won 👌
To some point, the race standings dont matter. It was done for fun, and thats what was done. Gettin together with buddies racing, and everyone that does this is competitive, so its all great fun. I like both worlds too, racin and bashin alike. Alrhough i dont own any real bashers, so i just have to take out my race cars when just putzin around.
